Well, that week went flying by. Spent the whole damn thing setting up my new business website, developing a mailing list and getting an e-blast put together and then studying for my state licensing exam to be an auctioneer. And while I’m no fan of state licensing, I’ve got to admit that there’s a hell of a lot more to running an auction than talking real fancy-like. And I’m glad that the course I took pounded them into my head over and over.
Anyway, I’m getting off topic here. And besides, you guys don’t give a shit about my personal life.
Well, most of you don’t. Unless, that is, my personal life involves setting up the First Annual Glibertarians College Basketball Tourney Bracket Challenge (a carryover from the Hit & Run Tourney Pick Em days for those of you that remember) and giving you the password to get in (password: Podesta). Max entries per person capped at three, so you’ve got options there to have some fun with upset picks. And I can tell you this: there will be prizes for the winners involving our new logo. Which reminds me, the deadline for entries is rapidly approaching. So get off your asses and get them in here. More on this over the weekend and Monday.
[heavy exhale]
OK, now down to the business at hand.
I hope you weren’t hoping for a tax cut any time soon. Mitch McConnell said they’re not likely to take up the idea until August at least. You know, when your party runs on tax cuts, you might want to take up tax cuts early on. Because, you know, that’s what you ran on.
Mollie Hemingway has a little bit of fun at the expense of “the woke”. In all honesty, she could have written a book on the missteps of the organizers. She kept it to five items though.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Except this time, “try” means adding seventeen year olds to the voting rolls. Hey George, if you really gave a shit about 17 year olds, you’s want to lower the drinking age and smoking age to 17 instead of pushing them up, and you’d demand the “restricted” drivers licenses become “full” licenses once these people hit 17. AND YOU’D BE PUSHING TO LOWER THE AGE OF CONSENT! (Thanks, OMWC. I missed that biggie on the first pass.) You know, since they’d be adults and all that. But nope. You don’t want to treat them like adults. You just want another voting bloc.
Remember that fight (literally, not figuratively) a few years back between a Chicago cop and a Chicago fireman at the scene where two people had fallen in the river and needed rescuing? Well, just in case you’d forgotten, the bill for taxpayers has partially come due. And the tab so far is $1,600,000. It’s expected to rise.
South Korea finally ousts President Park Geun-hy.
And in sports news unrelated to the Osweiler-Browns(!) and Texans-Romo(?) goings-on, Jay Cutler left quite a legacy in Chicago. Not the good kind.
That’s it. Carry on.
…And sending it to me, even though I am well outside of your customer base. I was somewhat confused.
Did I? Not sure how you got on the mailing list. Sorry.
Meh, if I were actually irritated, I’d have responded to the e-mail.

“Your e-mail preferences have been saved. Please allow 4-6 weeks for changes to take effect.”
Then you add “unsubscribe UnCivilServant” to your list of things to do 5 1/2 weeks from now.
That’s not class amterial, that’s on the job training material
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Except that time, “try” means adding seventeen year olds to the voting rolls.
Let’s be real, if you actually take the idea of a ‘rational voter’ seriously, we should be pushing the voting age up to 25.
Probably. Or using a criterion other than age to determine rationality.
What would that even be?
Property ownership….
I think being a net taxpayer would be a better measure than property ownership.

Net contributor to the treasury gets to vote, net taker does not.
The standard reply here is there are non economic issues and net takers deserve a say in things
You can have your pay or you can have your say.
And the reply to that is if you want a say in things, get some skin in the game.
my skin is flawless I don’t want it in the game, what if it gets damaged?
“It puts the lotion on its skin!”
‘Yeah, I’m worried about my skin. It covers my body.’
Only net contributors should be able to vote for Congress as they appropriate money. Everybody should be able to vote for everything else.
^ This. Net takers shouldn’t be able to vote themselves more shit.
Renters shou;d have some say on property taxes.
Most military are net takers. Not giving the military a say tends to result in them finding…other ways.
I would however say that putting your life on the line in some shithole on behalf of your country counts as a fuckload of skin in the game.
I’m just saying, exceptions are likely going to be made, and there’s a slippery slope argument there. Also the desk clerk at the depot is going to expect the same standard as the ground-pounder.
What WTF said. Generally speaking even the desk clerk at the depot doesnt have the mentality of a taker.
There’s substantial changes to the brain between ages 12 to 25, making it a good general number to indicate ‘adulthood’ and the ability to make (at least more) rational decisions. Obviously it’s not that you turn 25 and these changes stop, it varies based on individual, but it’s better than what we’ve got (not that youth vote in large numbers anyway).
I agree. And in my Obamacare rewrite, I will let “children” stay on their parents health insurance until they are 30 OR no longer living in mom’s basement.

8) Just took a quick survey and TDS seems to have died down a bit, though is by no means completely abated. The first article that comes up on Slate is something about “Resisting Tyranny,” for example. But I was thinking. Donald Trump is 70 years old. Let’s say the worst progressive fever dreams are actually true, and Trump is secretly working to transform the United States into a tyranny. Has there ever been an older despot who came into office in history?
Obviously there have been older tyrants, but they were all people who took over their countries or empires earlier in life and never left. Or, in the case of the gerontocracies in the Soviet Union or China or Cuba, old guys who simply took over existing systems where the actual gray-haired bureaucrat at the head of the table hardly mattered.
But has there ever been a transformative figure who started out so old? I mean, if Trump’s going to turn us into a fascist state, he’d better get to work on that, because surely he doesn’t have many good years left.
His actual actions taken so far are the opposite of what you’d need to do to establish oneself as a tyrant.

If you chose daemonic incursions, I think there are more than a few organizations that would like a word with you.

So does one need to know anything about college ball to do the bracket thing? Or can one fake it? Is Lonzo Ball any good? So many questions
I think knowing about it only reduces your chances because you’re never going to guess the real longshots. I remember reading an article when George Mason went to the final four about 10 years ago, some online betting site had to pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars to four people who had guessed all four teams, and none of them were college basketball fans.
Once our office pool was won by a newbie who knew nothing about college basketball and made all her picks based on which mascot she liked better.
+1 Diane Chambers.
Just like it how it seems like every year in a fantasy football league your buddy’s girlfriend who never makes waiver wire moves or changes her lineup manages end up in the championship.
At my last job I used to be part of an NFL betting pool. I didn’t know much about the teams so I would often use an ESPN commentator’s picks. That didn’t work out so well – I would rarely get 50% – ie, no better than randomly selected.
The one time I did win – I had a co-worker help me who had been drafted by the Detroit Lions as a receiver. He was eventually cut, making it no further than the practice team before getting a hamstring injury. His picks were usually quite good – but maybe he understood the game at a different level… dunno!
My wife got kicked out of her office pool -she won too much. She knew zip about it. She picked the school she’d rather attend to get an education and then choose the other to win.
That’s…actually pretty brilliant.
It is!
Just make sure you have Kansas and Kentucky advancing to at least the Elite 8 but not beyond the Final Four. Then pick the rest based name recognition/offensive mascot.
I just hope my alma mater loses early and badly. You would too if you were a badger.
Yes, Lonzo Ball is very, very good. UCLA is going to disappoint as usual though, because they play no defense and Steve Alford is a shitty coach.
He shoots really weird though. I think that Fulz fella is a more secure pick at 1.

Sweden’s far right gaining ground as social problems mounts
Far Right Swedes? *confused*
Sweden redefined “Far Right” to include “People who don’t like getting raped by migrants”
Wait, what? I have it on good authority from the media that there is no immigrant problem in Sweden and Trump is just making that shit up.
The Swedes also redefined “Problem”.
https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2014/04/14/listen-to-swedish-eu-and-un-rep-margot-wallstrom-laugh-at-swedish-victims-of-muslim-rape/
Yep.
“In Sweden, the incident of rape per capita is now second only to Nigeria.”
So the most feminist country in the world, has the second most rapes.
This supports the idea that feminists aren’t actually anti-rape. They are just using it as a political tool. In fact, it’s their core issue. So fewer rapes, or anything that would reduce rape, would hurt their cause.
Are they far right or just anti-immigration equals far right kind of a deal? There were plenty of Swedish Nazis and probably still are a bunch undercover. Waiting.

I recall one doing a search of *a single day’s stories* (about Europe) @ Reuters.
Every single mention of “Right” had the term “Far” in front of it. 6 times, 6 different stories.
There actually are official “center right” parties in many of these countries. But they are almost always parts of minority governing coalitions with the center left, and can basically be relied upon to march lockstep with them.
So i think the habit of calling ANY opposition to the current administrations “Far Right Wing” is actually a technical matter = the ‘far right’ is basically anyone who is too conservative to actually simply roll over to the left. Europe doesn’t do “political opposition” the same way we do (which is constant binary either/or warfare). They have more of a Borg mind where you’re either “in the government” or you are some extremist fringe, and nothing in between
There’s been a lot of rhetoric inflation on the left in recent years: “racist” was overused, so “white supremacist” is now the insult du jour. Similarly, “sexist” has been abandoned for “misogynist.”
Similarly, “sexist” has been abandoned for “misogynist.”
And chauvinist (pig) before sexist.
Correct! I forgot that one. And before “racist,” people were said to be “prejudiced.”

This live action adaptation of Fallout is a bit disappointing.
It’s a far better adaptation of STALKER.

New Vegas is the best Fallout don’t @ me
I wasn’t fond of the mechanics shift from 3 that rendered my playstyle completely useless at upper levels.
Other than that… it was okay.
I think the better bit was the whole “the writing wasn’t completely retarded” part.
Fallout isn’t about the story, it’s about faffing about after the apocalypse.
Being routed through “Plot Pass” at the southern end of the map pissed me off. So did the nonsensical pardon from Caesar to open up the possibility of changing alliegences lategame.
Fallout isn’t about the story
Brian Fargo and the actual Fallout teams, not Bethesda’s license buy-out, disagree with you. It’s one of the reasons old school fans like New Vegas way more than 3, it’s ‘actual Fallout’ not a thin veneer of the product by another company.
Being routed through “Plot Pass” at the southern end of the map pissed me off.
This is not an unfair complaint, but Bethesda’s “you can go anywhere because we auto-level creatures with you” is equally bad design and world building. Making the post-apocalypse safe is antithetical to the concept.
So did the nonsensical pardon from Caesar
Agreed, also not great, but it’s still a small error within a plot that far exceeds the idiocy of Fallout 3’s (or 4’s for that matter).
Having regions of varying difficulty is fine, but pretending to be open world, then trying to set up plot rails in such a blatant manner just makes me shake my head. I strongly suspect the “Blind Deathclaw” and the cave behind it were added when they realized there was a route to avoid the Plot Pass at low levels.
I really didn’t want to go that far south.
but pretending to be open world, then trying to set up plot rails in such a blatant manner
That was Bethesda meddling. Obsidian wanted to have multiple large maps of different regions, and Bethesda said no, one large map or else. Which is why a lot of stuff is packed in at various locations.
Going north isn’t actually that hard with a decent sneak skill, I kept doing it on multiple playthroughs.
Another thing I’m doing “Wrong” according to classic Fallout afficionados – I didn’t even realize there was a companion mechanic in any of the games until I tried to fgure out why the BoS girl too stupid to use a gun wouldn’t stop showing up and getting in the way of my shots.
Classic Fallout fans can be asses about random things, but I feel for them (and not just because I’m one of them). Bethesda really doesn’t know how to use the Fallout license correctly, and it’s really, really annoying.
Obsidian wanted to have multiple large maps of different regions, and Bethesda said no, one large map or else
That’s some chutzpah from Bethesda, considering a good chunk of the DC metro is gated behind loading screens via the subway system.
That’s some chutzpah from Bethesda,
There’s a bunch of random stuff in New Vegas that was decided from on-high at Bethesda for weird reasons. Obsidian wanted to set the game fifty years before Fallout 3, and Bethesda said no, it has to be after. Why? No real reason, Bethesda just has a company policy that none of their games ever go ‘back in time’. Bethesda handled their QA testing, which was a mess. Obsidian’s bonus was based on the game’s Metacritic score. It was one point short, despite selling very well.
New Vegas was more entertaining. Period.
Fallout 4 just falls flat. 3 was OK, but that was published in 1908 or so.
Fallout 4’s big failing stems from the limitations from deciding to have a voiced protagonist, as that locked in the amount of dialog options that could be made to the voice actors’ time. Then it was further compounded with the four option wheel.
Fallout 4 is rife with them simultaneously trying to ape New Vegas based on fan feedback (“Make morally ambiguous factions! Have a central point dedicated to stop important philosophical belief the player can make! Make all the New Vegas mod content an actual mechanic!”) while at the same time trying to borrow from other modern Western RPGs (voiced protagonist, the dialogue wheel, etc.). It’s just a goddamn mess design wise, and it’s a bad sign that my summary of the game was “wow, I hope Obsidian gets to do something with these new mechanics.”
I was annoyed by 4’s constant need to push the storyline and to turn the protagonist into a savior, while trying to guilt you into making the “right” choices. New Vegas lets you be an asshole, because hey, everybody else is.
Agreed. I’m a Bethesda fan from the Elder Scrolls days (and I like the idea that there’s a game dev in Maryland) and also a huge Fallout fan from the first game, so when I heard they were getting the license I was psyssed. I thought 3 was neat, but it didn’t feel like Fallout, really. Fallout 4 feels even less so, and it’s the first one I just stopped playing out of boredom.
Do we have an icon for catbutting now?
I’m just hoping ZARDOZ strikes them down.

The woods here used to be full of semi-feral hogs. In those days it was not uncommon for people who died in the woods (drown in creeks or thrown from horses or even killed by hogs) to be eaten by hogs and never a trace found of them.
there is an old saying used by old country people , when asked where someone is to reply. “he went to take a shit and the hogs ate him”.
Nice!
How did they get rid of the hogs?

1 In 3 Say The U.S. Spends Too Little On The Military
God (or the diety or non-diety of your choice) help us all.
Historically, the percentage of Americans saying Washington spends too much on defense peaked during the Vietnam was in the early 70s
Welcome to what happens when you have an all-professional force. People either think you’re spending too much, or too little. Usually based on performance.
Here the problem. Many of our combat units really are underfunded. The 101st Air Mobile has half the helicopter lift capacity as it did a decade ago. Calling it an Air Mobile Division now is just wishful thinking.
On the other hand, the DoD is up to 740,000 civilian employees and we are pouring hundreds of billion into the worthless F35 program. So both sides are right – our Defense budget is way too high AND we don’t spend enough on the military itself.
The military is just another bureaucracy, with more weapons.
FdA, whose libertarian cred is flawless, made the case to me that the F35 is important and necessary. Not that I understood his argument completely, but on matters of air warfare, I take his opinion VERY seriously.
I can accept the argument that a 5th generation strike fighter is important and necessary. That doesn’t make the F35 program any less of a debacle. The do-it-all approach was a mistake – probably driving a lot of the cost overruns and shitty performance.
It soundly whips the shit out of every single one of our legacy fighters on a regular basis.
Not that it was a perfect program, by any stretch of the imagination, but the do it all approach ensured you developed one new expensive aircraft rather than 4 new expensive aircraft. AND provides a YUUUGE savings on the logistics side with interchangeable parts.
Also, when people talk about the cost of a new aircraft, I don’t think they ever subtract the cost of the old aircraft it replaces.
It soundly whips the shit out of every single one of our legacy fighters on a regular basis.
Looks like the early reports that it couldn’t beat an F-16 were mostly pilot inexperience in the F-35.
They’re air assault, not air mobile. Having been in a supposed air assault designated unit without organic lift capacity, just have to utilize ground transport. Death from Above becomes Death from a Bus.

I hadn’t heard he was a collaborator. What did he do?
He helped confiscate people’s property for the party for one.
IIRC, he called it “the happiest time of his life”.
Here you go.
And further stated he doesn’t at all regret having done it.
KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.
SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from your fellow Jews, friends and neighbors.
SOROS: Yes. That’s right. Yes.
KROFT: I mean, that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many, years. Was it difficult?
SOROS: No, not at all. Not at all, I rather enjoyed it.
KROFT: No feelings of guilt?
SOROS: No, only feelings of absolute power.
Swiss. It appears there may be different versions of the trnscript out there. Here’s what I found and it has some significant differences:
KROFT: I mean, that’s — that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?
Mr. SOROS: Not — not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t — you don’t see the connection. But it was — it created no — no problem at all.
KROFT: No feeling of guilt?
Mr. SOROS: No.
KROFT: For example that, ‘I’m Jewish and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be there. I should be there.’ None of that?
Mr. SOROS: Well, of course I c — I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was — well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets — that if I weren’t there — of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would — would — would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the — whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the — I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.

I will add that my experience with “DEA guidance” and FDA regulations is exemplified by a sleepless and pain-racked night spent following gall bladder surgery. The anesthesiologist told me that he would have had me on a morphine drip two years earlier, but with all the focus on “pill mill” doctors and with the feds prosecuting doctors left and right, he couldn’t give me any more than a couple of codeine tablets – which didn’t touch the pain.
I was righteously pissed, but ultimately without power to change it, not having an ongoing relationship with a drug dealer. It was only about 18 hours of excessive pain, but somehow I don’t think a committed drug warrior nozzle like Jeff Sessions would let me kick him in the stomach for 18 hours.
So anti-drug hysteria isn’t cost-free for us non-users.
Drug policy is based on the premise that people must suffer with horrific pain because somebody, somewhere, might be using those drugs to get high. I wish every asshole who is on board with this policy to suffer debilitating chronic pain and have nothing better than Advil as a remedy.
The sealed material, which was reviewed by The Washington Post,
Not sealed very well, then.
I’m just hoping we get to find out what happens to MAGA prime soon.
I am worried for him.

Thanks for the warning, now I know when to stay away.
That came out a bit meaner than I intended…
Re: That Article about the Day Without Women or whatever, in the comments:
Tony
If businesses could get the same productivity from a woman as a man and pay her 33% less, why would businesses not fire all the men, hire all women and cut their payroll costs by almost a third?
So the Federalist gets the sane Tony? This is bullshit.
This was an argument I first saw made by Thomas Sowell, blessings be upon him.
I assume this was back when you were both youthful rapscallions…so the 1880s?
I knew him when he was still a baby. Cute little Tommy, we’re proud that he made something of himself, even if that “something” is a race-traitor.
Funnily enough, I watched a much younger Tom Sowell last night in epsiode 5 or 6 of “Free to Choose”, dismanteling Frances Piven over Affirmitive Action.
He was impressive, even back then, taking that evil bitch’s arguments apart – WITH LOGIC!
I enjoyed that immensely. Watching the contortions on her face made me have a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest.
Hey, I’m just happy that we’ve got no Tony here at all.
Let’s not push our luck by mentioning his name too often.
There aren’t enough cat-butt pics on the internet for that asshole
Cat Butt?
He’s having too much fun screaming at John and everyone over at the Other Site. TDS has done a real number on him.
Speaking of the other site, I’d like if someone went over there in the links this morning, this afternoon and in both monday links posts and put up my basketball pick-em. There are probably people over there that would like to play even if they never came over here.
Can somebody post the link a few times for us, please? Let em know we still love them.
I just posted it in the morning links, but I’m likely not going to be around for the afternoon ones.
Much appreciated.
Damn, dude. I wish you’d have cut out the part about the prizes involving the new logo. I don’t want them to think we’re thumbing them in the eye or being dicks.
Oh well, under the bridge.
Sorry, just copy-pasted. No one except DanO. cares enough to bitch about it anyway.
True. DanO/Mary is taking this hard.
I just don’t want to offend anybody, that’s all.
So, I shouldn’t have said his and Hihn’s names in the mirror three times?
DAMMIT, T E E!
You bully!
Mollie Hemingway is kind of hot.
There I said it
I mean, now that I’m spittin’ distance of 40 I do find women of a certain age and matronly carriage attractive. She seems to be in that place where she can either dress professionally and look like a grownup or dress down and look like and older chick you’d meet at a bar for shots.

Remember everyone, turn your clocks forward an hour tomorrow.
Daylight Savings Time is an abomination and should be thrown into the ocean and never talked about again.
Why do you hate the farmers?
Farmers set their own hours. Changing the clocks does nothing to help them.
Not to mention the plants, who’ll get all that extra sunlight now.
Why do you hate conserving energy for the World War I war effort?
Tomorrow is Saturday. The abomination takes place Sunday.
If we are going to do it (we shouldn’t) why not Saturday morning?
Because then the clocks will be wrong for longer than doing it Sunday morning!
Lookit Mr. Popularity here, has to be somewhere on time on a Saturday.
Don’t remind me of this crap. It’s yet another reason I can’t wait to leave California and move to Arizona.
I don’t want to go to work an hour early. 🙁
No DST in AZ! Ha!
We just change timezones, really. When you lot are on DST, we are on Pacific time. When you are on normal time, we are CST. Its actually a pain in the ass for scheduling things.
Covered? Meh. Who cares? CNN stoops to cannibalism for ratings
Ban Hindus !
The only way I’ll watch is if he turns into a zombie and attacks the rest of the CNN crew.
That would probably be quite the ratings bonanza.
Yeah, no thanks. I’m not into kuru.
So is anyone here some sort of expert in cryptocurencies? Any idea what ethereum is doing?
No, they’re too cryptic.

Jay Cutler gives me the sadz.
Doooooooooooon’t
Caaaaaaaaaaaaare
You not caring gives me more sadz
Bears fan?
Yes.
That is sad.
Cutler was the best thing about the 2014 season. Would go out drinking with a hardcore Cheesehead, take shots every pick Cutler threw.
Could be worse. You could be a Redskins fan.
Or a 49ers fan. I have the super sadz
Well, at least Hoyer will stand for the anthem.
Yeah, I got nothing.
Yeah, but you got Kyle Shanahan, and I think he’s going to be a good coach. Plus, you’re getting a bunch of guys who’ve done well for the Snyder Redskins, like Pierre Garcon, Logan Paulsen, and probably Kirk Cousins in another year.
Yes, you are right. Things are looking up. (Good bye Kap) But last year was a doozy.
Again, sorry if already posted. Stormtroopers Banned From Star Wars-themed Party at Princeton
Useless, humorless sacks of shit.
It’s a college reunion party. What are they going to do – stop taking their alumni donations?
Parody no longer exists because life has become more ridiculous than that which can be parodied.
Who else will be able to counter the ruthless savagery of the Ewok otherkins?
The Wookies in attendance would all be triggered.

My nephew keeps sending pics of what’s going on at his school. It drives him nuts. He has to sit and listen and not speak in class lest he be shouted down.
I told him two things. First, view this as a positive where choosing a mate is concerned. Stay away from the nut jobs that way finding a sane girl will be much easier. Second, when the term ends, you go tell the teacher how much you didn’t appreciate the culture of fear in the class and directly challenge him or her about the value of such an ‘education’.
Giving him or her the middle finger or pulling down your pants are optional.
First, view this as a positive where choosing a mate is concerned. Stay away from the nut jobs that way finding a sane girl will be much easier.
Hey, on one hand, don’t stick your dick in crazy, but on the other hand, hate-fucks are pretty good.
I did get laid a lot more as a communist than a libertarian.
The nice thing about dating women you don’t like is that, a.) even SJW commie progtard chicks dig assholes, b.) if you fail, who cares?, and c.) you never feel guilty for the ol’ hit it and quit.
Yeah, but picking up women you don’t like, and that you know you don’t like, is a real frickin’ drag, man.
When you consider Maxine Waters a reliable source of information, you might want to reexamine your life.
Who?
The stupidest person ever elected to congress.
Be fair, there was a lot of competition ….
Hmmm. She’s in the conversation, but Hank Johnson and Sheila Jackson Lee might qualify.
The stuff that ties his campaign to a Russian effort to hurt Hillary and get him elected.
That’s been validated? How?
Sessions had routine contacts with Russian diplomats, like every other Senator with a foreign policy portfolio.
Flynn botched a disclosure, but there’s nothing that I know of that he colluded with the Russians to hurt Hillary. Today’s headline is that he lobbied for Turkey awhile back, but Turkey ain’t Russia, and the Turks and the Russians are getting pretty crossways.
Is there something else I’m missing?
So this is probably the funniest thing you’ll see today.
LOL at his nanny tearing into the room in panic
I love the Kramer entrance!
Feel free to change your “I’ll” to “you’ll”.
I would if I had the power.

Complete with typo! Thanks man!
And just like that, the typo is gone. Magic.
Aye!
That poor nanny. From her entrance to her crawling back in to close the door. Very funny stuff. Thanks for the laugh Scruffy

This is a good jobs report. It’s silly to assign strong economic gains to any single president, but business is really banking on those tax cuts (which should have been done before healthcare, in my opinion). Mining and manufacturing jobs increased (which hasn’t been the case for a while).
Expect Sean Hannity to slavishly praise the ‘Trump Recovery’ and Paul Krugman to rediscover the U6 unemployment number.
It seems to be obvious that once again, there is 0 interest in tax reform. I mean how hard is it to pass a bill that repeals AMT? That isn’t complete reform, but it would be a hell of a start.
A lot of Congressional Republicans are going have a tough time finding issues to campaign on in 2018.
I don’t get it. Do tax preparers really give that much money to Congressional Republicans?
I blame the tax lawyers.
H&R Block lobbies hard.
THAT’S BECAUSE THEY SUCK AT REPRESENTIN’
The Repubs are cruising for a massacre next year. ObamaCare Jr., crap tax reform if any, and weakness on regulatory reform are going to get them killed. And they’ll blame it on Trump.
“They have learned nothing, and forgotten nothing.”
Trump has the reins now. If he wants to see more substantive reforms, he needs only threaten to veto whatever Congress sends him if it doesn’t merit his support.
Only about 20% of seats are ever really up for grabs. And that only happens when there’s a really catastrophic event like 9/11 or the 2008 recession.
As for the Senate, they’re poised to gain a few seats at a minimum.
“Massacre”? I just don’t see it.
If the Republican base gets really pissed over their failure to do anything useful now that they hold all three branches, I could see them losing some seats.
Only about 20% of seats are ever really up for grabs.
That would be about 90 seats. Its too early to say which R seats are exposed, but the Repubs picked up 60-odd seats in 2010, gave up 8 in 2012, and picked up 13 in 2014. That’s a net loss to the Dems of around 65 seats. I call that a massacre, and if it happened to the Dems, it can happen to the Repubs.
Right now, they are doing everything they can to make 2018 a bad election for Repubs.
There will be some brutal primary battles for Republicans supposedly in safe seats.
The reality of it is that sentiment and psychology are significant drivers of market prices.
While we believe that the Invisible Hand is moving in a rational, serious way, the way you might imagine a respectable businessman might shoo orphans away from his shoes one minute, and drop a silver dollar into a hobo’s hat the next, the reality is that the invisible hand spends a significant portion of its time picking its invisible nose, making invisible “Jazz Hands”, doing unspeakable things to the invisible penis and invisibly pumping the air like a Mets fan when they crush the Yankees in the 9th innings.
… and yet the magic STILL works!
If their tax reforms are anything like their ACA reforms, they’re better off taking their time.
They won’t propose a tax increase. It will be a temporary refund adjustment.
I am happy that musical link was Kansas and not Styx.
These links were better without bullet points. It felt like there was some narrative flow going on.
MAKE UP YOUR MIND!
Some men just want to the see the world nagged.
Then again, i could just be using some reverse psychology
(munches breadstick)
I have always thought some enterprising young person and a good lawyer could make a strong 26th amendment case against all status offenses for people of voting age. I think this would be a net positive for decreasing alcohol abuse amongst teens, but might have the added effect of stemming the “let kids vote!” shenanigans from the Democrats.
