Two unnamed women have sued a former police detective, city supervisors and the city of Huntington, WV over alleged civil rights violations including sexual assault.
From the linked story (emphasis mine):
A former Huntington police detective has been sued in federal court along with the city and supervisors for civil rights violations including sexual abuse. The complaint alleges too that the city has failed to supervise officers.
Representing the plaintiffs, attorney Tim Eves listed nearly 20 alleged instances of policies and procedures not followed, failure to exercise reasonable or slight care, and failure to follow standards by supervisors. Eves asserted that supervisors knew the officers had been the subject of prior investigations of excessive force, had prior disciplinary actions against him, and “was not qualified to safely investigate and/or meet with potential female victims.” The complaint alleges that the officer had “unlawfully stopped, arrested, and physically assaulted others while on duty,” including illegal search and seizure, unlawful restraint without due legal process, and invasive search without probable cause, and “offensive contact” of their persons.
If any of those are demonstrably true, they’re gonna have a hard time defending this in front of a jury. Especially since the police officer in question was named in a wrongful death case where it was shown in court that he basically beat an elderly woman to death and they kept him on the force.
The city attorney has spoken out (emphasis mine again):
Responding to documents in the Earle case related to the sexual abuse, attorneys for the city have stated that the incident occurred while the detective was OFF DUTY and working a part time job.
“It is generally alleged that this incident involved a non-consensual sexual contact by Officer N with two females,” the city’s response said. “However, and without disclosing the sordid details of this incident, it must be noted that Officer N possesses real and valid defenses to these allegations, including evidence of consent to any sexual interactions.”
Well, that’s different! He was off the clock. Although, he was on the clock when he beat that elderly woman to death a year before the alleged incidents in this case.
Either way, the taxpayers are going to likely be on the hook for any settlement or judgment that comes from it. Which is the real travesty here. Well, that and the alleged sexual assaults, beating deaths and the city’s dismissive treatment of their citizens.
The Washington Post just posted a new article about Epstein and the Lolita Express.
Hmmm…. Which United States President do they associate him with in the article???

Benjamin Harrison?
Hitler?
Why do you hate our Heroes in Blue®?
“was not qualified to safely investigate and/or meet with potential female victims.”
Promote that man!
In fact, give him a badge, gun, and powers of arrest!
Look, he’s probably been suspended with pay for a while. And that’s a worse punishment than any of us can truly imagine.
The process is the punishment.
Totality of the circs
Heck they might even dock him a couple of vacation days.
Today in fake hate crimes
In this one, swastikas were spraypainted on a Jewish man’s home. Except (and this one is special) it turns out that (1) he did it himself, and (2) he’s not actually Jewish.
Have there been any actual crimes of this sort perpetrated by secret nazis or are they all false flags?
As far as I’ve seen, not a single one.
Wasn’t that one dude that turned a pipe menorah into a swastika a legit anti-Semite?
Also, I thought Trump getting elected was considered a legit hate crime.
No, the perps were black, so, that doesn’t count.
I forgot Trumps election was a hate crime and literally drove America into the ditch.
I didn’t read that story but my impression it was kids thinking it was a funny prank, like the night a 10 year old me took all of the fish off of old man Ogden’s trot line and replaced them with rubber snakes.
The next day when I went to get the mail the Chief of Police drove up to me and handed me the rubber snakes back. He didn’t even ask if I had done it.
“I better not find out you boys have been back to that pond.”
“Yes Sir. You wont.”
Remember when cops could appreciate a joke that didn’t involve sodomizing a prisoner?
Yes Brett. I ran into that guy not long ago. He remembered that incident and laughed like hell about it.
I yearn for the good old days when kids just egged houses and knocked over mailboxes of American her…well, the egg part anyway.
::looks furtively around::
Not to worry, your mailbox is safe.
We also blew a lot of shit up. Let’s be honest with ourselves. There were lots of explosions. Lots of fireworks. Lots of “upgraded” fireworks that would absolutely be called IEDs in this day and age.
We did this, and for the most part, if no one got hurt, we got slaps on the wrist.
I refuse to believe it was just me.
We had various versions of those. Some of them were quite powerful and absolutely illegal as hell. But the crazy old hillbilly down the road sold them to us anyway. He referred to one of them, not sure if true, as a quarter stick of dynamite. We would take a 5 gallon metal bucket on top of a lit one and it would basically turn it into a missile and shrapnel. We’d duck behind something when doing it and you could feel the concussion from it. The other thing we liked to do is throw them in the creek where they would explode underwater and cause a massive explosion of water. Good times.
…using magnesium and aluminum oxides to …
Oh.
Never mind.
It certainly gave me and my friends a deep and abiding respect for chemistry.
Well Tacit I can tell you that my favorite toy was a 1 lb can of black powder.
I didn’t have that luxury. I had to make it myself.
Still, it made the papers!
When I think about my childhood destruction crew, we ended up with two chemistry and one physics PhD. One sets one’s path in life early.
yes, but i think you have to give him points for creativity
LOL that’s great, I mean horrible
Invite them to the White House, they’re at least as clever as Clock Boy! To figure out that transformation could be done… epic.
Uh, but seriously, NOT COOL, guys.
(in actual seriousness, that sucks for the kids who lived in the house..)
I always end up with O’Rourke and why he didn’t mind being called a Nazi – after all, no one ever had a sexual fantasy about being tied up by a liberal.
It reminds me of back when I was in HS.
The cheerleaders, band members, and football players, all got signs that their parents could put up on their front yards, saying their kid was #88 on the football team, or an all-state Clarinet player. Parents loved to brag about their kids, teenagers were a bit more humble. So one Saturday night a couple of football players, marching band members. and cheerleaders had a few beers, and they decided to take a baseball bat to those embarrassing yard signs. So they drove around demolishing those stupid yard signs that everybody hated.
Unfortunately, they also demolished the yard sign of the only black chick on the cheerleading squad. Her parents saw that, and called the cops thinking it was some sort of race-based hate crime.
When the cops caught them, it turned out it was just some minor vandalism, and they thought that if anything, they were doing the black cheerleader a favor by destroying that stupid yard sign, since it t screams nerd alert,
So when the cops caught them, nobody wanted to press charges. partly because they were all on the football team, and partly because they didn’t really do any real damage.
So… he gave himself two black eyes? That’s hard-core.
He told himself twice not to fake a hate crime. But apparently he didn’t listen.
The dishwasher was broken.
Christ, that picture of Officer Nield screams: Two ChoMos Sharing a Secret Nothing.
“Especially since the police officer in question was named in a wrongful death case where it was shown in court that he basically beat an elderly woman to death and they kept him on the force.”
You know, the really sad fucking reality, is that things like that don’t even phase me anymore, I just expect it every single fucking day. I don’t even feel a little a mouse kick to the nuts. Fucking shit.
Well I accept your challenge. I’ll scour the internets and find something that’ll make you double over in pain.
Unpossible, my nuts are made of pure jade now.
Oh, look. Maryland set to become first sanctuary state.
http://www.wnd.com/2017/03/sanctuary-policies-led-to-brutal-bathroom-rape-of-14-year-old-schoolgirl/
WND? We can do better than that. It’s on every single station and on every news website. I think you can leave somebody that even Alex Jones would be skeptical of alone on this one.
Oh. I have no idea who they are. My wife told me about it, I googled and that is what came up.
Yeah, linking WND is like linking Lyndon Larouche or Alex Jones : even when they’re right, they’re somehow still wrong.
Jesus fucking Christ. This is the first I’ve read of it. This is legit?
It is. It’s been on every network in the last 45 minutes.
Thats surprising. I figured the proggy propaganda mills would bury it.
That is blood boiling.
I thought CA was already a “sanctuary state”.
Also… placing an 18-year-old “boy” in ninth grade? What could possibly go wrong.
Oh, but savor the irony of this being prog-ville central – Montgomery County. You can’t find a truer bluer place in the whole damn country (particularly because they are also govt parasites for the most part). I’d feel sorrier for the girl, but in all likelihood her parents supported the politicians that made this possible.
Yeah, Montgomery Co. is progville, USA. But so are a lot of other countries in MD and VA surrounding it. But it’s definitely one of the worst.
‘counties’. Damnit, edit faeries, where’s my preview feature? The peasants are growing restless.
Is it? I don’t know anything about the area. I would have guess SF County would take that title.
Seriously, you attended high school and you’ve never seen a 18 year old freshman? I guess they pass the idiots too quickly now just to get rid of them.
Well, I went to a smarty-pants HS so… no. OK, there was one floor for dum-dums but I’m pretty sure there weren’t any grown men in 9th grade. I think you can drop out at 16 if “education” isn’t your bag?
Wouldn’t really make much difference though. They thew us all into the same cage, ages 14-18, some as young as 13, others as old as 19. You mean they segregate freshmen from seniors now? What fun is it to be a senior if you can’t terrorize freshmen?
Well, if by segregate you mean spend 98% of your time with kids your age, pretty much.
I should talk. I took 9th grade Latin when I was 19. (I lost a year in Europe.)
But still.
We had most all of our classes with same age kids, but there was no segregation of age groups outside of that. So basically, 18 and 14 years olds together, yes, all of the time.
Sure we were in the same building but I’m just saying we didn’t have enough time between classes to talk to each other let alone “hook up”. I dunno; maybe seniors were macking on freshmen and I didn’t notice.
Well, things did change, because we definitely had that time and it happened often.
We were allowed maybe 3 minutes between classes. No going outside, no study halls or any claptrap like that either.
Holy shit, Rywun, sorry about your youth time in totalitarianville. We smoked weed at breaks, outside, and got into fist fights, got all make outey with the ladies, like every fucking week. The only way we could ever get into trouble was to leave school grounds. Ok, we could do that too, although we weren’t really supposed to, as long as we came back before lunch time was over. It was like freedom, the 70s, seriously. I bet you couldn’t show up to school with a rack full of loaded rifles in your truck, either?
I went to school in the ghetto. There was nothing outside I wanted to see except the bus carrying me home.
Sanctuary school?
Yeah, that totally isn’t about funding.
Set to become? We’ve been lavishing benefits on the undocumented for years now.
Has the school district explained why they took two foreign 18 year olds and put them in 9th grade? That worries me more than the additional fact that they were undocumented.
Because ‘multicultural’ and they probably couldn’t speak English very well. It was the only fair thing to do. I’m surprised they didn’t put them in 4th grade and let them use the girl’s restroom. This is Murlan.
I don’t think there’s much difference between 9th grade and 12th grade on that score. There’s no excuse for this.
I just gave you the excuse, ‘multicultural’. It’s leftists excuse for getting away with all sorts of absurd behavior.
Not on CNN. Sorry, didn’t happen.
Oh wait, there it is, in small type in the middle bottom.
No sanctuary for colts, however.
So, one of the reasons (drink!) that honor cultures have strict rules about gender segregation and unaccompanied women is because those cultures tend to…. Well whatever.
Importing barbarians into modern societies, or allowing criminals to stay illegally, leads to incidents like this, and we’ve seen the preview in Europe.
A friend of mine that spent 20 years working in Iran said “You cant leave them alone with a woman for even one minute. It is a certainty she will be raped.” and “Those people are not civilized.”
“Henry Sanchez, 18, of Guatemala and Jose Montano, 17, of El Salvador”
These guys weren’t exactly Persians.
Not exaggerating too much, I can tell you that the entire population of Honduras now live in Maryland, and none of them legally. I keep saying that here is libertarians chance to grab an unoccupied country that is just setting their empty.
No, they weren’t Persians. But the Levant is not the only geographic area still in thrall to a medieval works view.
World view, even
So, ChemJeff: I’m legitimately challenged by this problem. I grew up in the eighties: anybody escaping communism should be welcomed kind of view, right?
I still get that: freedom should be where you escape to, and once your there, in Freedom, why that’s it, you’re free.
I get it, i understand it, I’ve lived on the border and I know these people.
But, and here’s the thing: we can’t afford to take in everybody. Every illegal child in the school system means my kid is getting less.
I don’t know the answer, and my heart welcomes anybody fleeing horrible conditions. If we didn’t have a welfare state, maybe it wouldn’t matter so much. But we do, and it’s not going away.
“These people should fight and make their own countries free” is easy to say, hard to do.
Should we arm the arab spring?
Should we go forth in war to remake dictatorships into Western Democracies?
Huh, wrong place
Sorry just saw your response. And it’s kinda late for me so I will just get to the crux of the matter:
“Every illegal child in the school system means my kid is getting less.”
First it should be pointed out that this statement is true not just for illegals, but for any newcomer into your school system. So the real problem here is not the illegal per se, but how the education system is funded. Of course the ideal solution (at least from our POV) is to have a fully private education system. Since that isn’t going to happen anytime soon, the next best thing, it would seem to me, is to have a funding model that is based on a per-student basis. Let’s call this a “voucher”. The overall point is, an alternative to kicking out all the illegals is, if we’re not going to end the welfare state, is to change how it is funded, so that it doesn’t lead to the perverse result that you point out.
Latin Americans aren’t exactly barbarians, but the condition of some of these countries, extreme corruption, poverty, violence, has turned some of it’s younger residents towards lawlessness, as would be expected. Those countries right there in Central America, like Honduras and El Salvador have been really hard hit by this, with gang activity very prevalent. That we are accepting unaccompanied youth from these countries with very little vetting is extremely foolish. Exactly what you would expect from bleeding heart progs.
“That we are accepting unaccompanied youth from these countries with very little vetting is extremely foolish. Exactly what you would expect from bleeding heart progs.”
But what ought to be done? You have all these kids who literally just show up on our doorstep and they are (or at least claim to be) fleeing violence and abuse. The ones who are lying? Sure kick their asses out. But the rest of them?
Try doing that to any other country in the world.
Send them back.
Even if they are being sent back to certain future violence and abuse?
We aren’t even checking who is lying and we aren’t the dumping ground for every 3rd world problem on earth.
Ok so what should we do with the ones who aren’t lying? They show up, they say they are fleeing violence and they have the scars and trauma to prove it. What next?
Sure kick their asses out. But the rest of them?
If they’re of age and they’ve been screened properly, I’m perfectly willing to offer them jobs in the military, with citizenship as the end result. If they’re not interested, sure.
Interesting solution. I don’t know about the wisdom of asking people to become soldiers who aren’t actually committed to this country. We’d basically be asking them to become our mercenaries. I’m not saying it’s the wrong solution. But I don’t know how well it would work out in the long run.
And what about those who aren’t of age?
Hi, cytotoxic! It’s a lot easier to just say hi!
Interesting solution. I don’t know about the wisdom of asking people to become soldiers who aren’t actually committed to this country.
Already happens for various forms of foreign nationals, seems to work fine.
And what about those who aren’t of age?
Offer it anyway and give opportunities for private citizens to shelter them under a temporary status where the citizens themselves are personally responsible for their behaviour until they’re of age.
I don’t think chemjeff is Cytotoxic, he’s legitimately naive and way less of a cunt. Unless he’s Cytotoxic after got his autism and pathological narcissism under control, in which case he’s made big steps to becoming a functional human being.
I’m not cytotoxic. I don’t even know who that person is.
But the problem I am addressing is a real problem. Someone shows up fleeing violence, what are we supposed to do? The answers that have been given so far have basically been “send them back to that violence, I don’t give a shit” and “offer them a position in the military if they are of legal age”. The latter response at least attempts at a solution, even though I am not sure it is a great solution, but the former response is just unacceptable IMO. We wouldn’t even do that (well, most of us) for an injured animal that showed up on our own doorsteps, let alone a living human being.
John:
Yeah I know immigrants can currently earn citizenship by serving in the military. I’m not a huge fan of that idea either. I guess I am naive in thinking that I don’t want military service to be seen as some sort of punishment or penalty in exchange for earning some big prize, such as citizenship, or free college (GI Bill). Plus there is the whole mercenary aspect.
In regards to your second suggestion, what do you think of this type of idea?
http://www.humanrightsfirst.org/resource/private-sponsorship-refugee-resettlement-united-states
he latter response at least attempts at a solution, even though I am not sure it is a great solution, but the former response is just unacceptable IMO.
Being a ‘dumping ground’ as Hyperion put it so wonderfully doesn’t address the problems causing it, and can actively prolong or worsen the problem. Autocratic governments in the Old World loved the New World for a reason, it gave them an opportunity to push their malcontents, lower classes and liberals out to prolong their oppressive systems. Mexico functions in the same way in the modern world, using illegal immigration as a release valve on discontent. The idea that every person should be taken in (ignoring the fact that unless you’re willing to have private funding and sponsorship that won’t cover everyone, you’re just constructing another branch of the welfare system) fundamentally prolongs the suffering that you insist you care about. Then there’s the other side of the problem, the ‘vetting’ not being sufficient.
You know who got a raw fucking deal? Vladimir Lenin. Guy got thrown in prison for three years for publishing material the Russian government didn’t like. Ends up in exile.
Five years later he’s calling for violent revolution. Ten years after that he actually does it. Eighty years after that the results of his horrific experiment end. Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to have him hopping around Europe, planning.
I guess I am naive in thinking that I don’t want military service to be seen as some sort of punishment or penalty in exchange for earning some big prize, such as citizenship, or free college (GI Bill).
It’s not punishment, it’s labour. You do your part, show a willingness to exchange labour for pay, and prove you will voluntarily self-sacrifice for the system you’re claiming to want to be a part of. ‘Free college’ is bought by years of service. It’s not fun times, you need incentives, it’s like saying that the military should work for patriotic fervour instead of pay.
Sponsorship and private support is the only way refugee relocation should be done. Mostly because no tax dollars, but also because private support tends to have preparations in place for things like employment, language skills, etc. Also, refugee populations end up more spread out and assimilate faster as a result.
Well I am skeptical of the claim that Mexico is exiling its radicals and revolutionaries via illegal immigration to the United States. Seems to me, illegals are mainly individuals who are not directed or coerced by their government to come here, but who instead choose to come here seeking opportunities not available in their home countries, or, as in the case of the unaccompanied minors from a few years ago, are fleeing violence and abuse. You are right though that allowing individuals to seek opportunity here means that those same opportunities may not be fully realized in their home countries. However, it also seems wrong to purposefully immiserate people by preventing them from seeking opportunities elsewhere, due to the corruption or ineptitude of their government which they have little to no control over. It seems even more wrong to me to purposefully prevent those fleeing actual violence and abuse, not just impoverished conditions, from having some sort of asylum even if just temporary.
Well I am skeptical of the claim that Mexico is exiling its radicals and revolutionaries via illegal immigration to the United States. Seems to me, illegals are mainly individuals who are not directed or coerced by their government to come here
Except the Mexican government actively promotes illegal immigration, provides information on how to cross the border illegally, releases or doesn’t even charge coyotes, etc. This is part of the reason why no one takes the open borders people seriously. You deny what is an open secret in Mexican society because it would require you to re-evaluate your premises (not to mention there’s an active habit in libertarian circles of finding foreign governments more trustworthy than your own). Mexico is exporting its discontent lower classes, i.e. the backbone of any reformist or revolutionary movement specifically to avoid having to actually address that problem.
due to the corruption or ineptitude of their government which they have little to no control over.
They have plenty of control over it, which is the Mexican government is doing what it can to ensure it isn’t a problem. Again, you’re just prolonging problems so you can feel good about yourself. It’s the teach a man to fish slogan as policy, and it doesn’t work for the same reason.
from having some sort of asylum even if just temporary.
Funded by American tax dollars to support your morality. You’re arguing for an immigration welfare system, and using the same bleeding heart arguments to support it.
“Except the Mexican government actively promotes illegal immigration, provides information on how to cross the border illegally, releases or doesn’t even charge coyotes, etc.”
Now wait a minute, you are pulling a fast one. Are you meaning to suggest that the Mexican government’s habit of implicitly condoning illegal immigration, is equivalent to coerced exile of political revolutionaries and troublemakers a la Lenin? Last I checked, the Mexican government is not forcing day laborers to migrate north and hang out at Home Depots in San Diego.
“You deny what is an open secret in Mexican society because it would require you to re-evaluate your premises (not to mention there’s an active habit in libertarian circles of finding foreign governments more trustworthy than your own).”
What premises am I supposed to re-evaluate? I don’t deny that the Mexican government benefits somewhat from illegal immigration. I simply think it is wrong to use innocent individuals as pawns in some diplomatic struggle between two nations.
“Mexico is exporting its discontent lower classes, i.e. the backbone of any reformist or revolutionary movement specifically to avoid having to actually address that problem. ”
Once again you seem to suggest that there is some purposeful, intentional plan on the part of the Mexican government to remove by force those that they view as a threat to their authority. I think that way overstates what the government actually does. Are their motives benevolent and pure? Probably not; I imagine that they are largely motivated by the remittances revenue, not out of any great compassion towards migrants. But you would have to present some stronger evidence rather than just a naked assertion to prove your claim that it is some grand plan to exile a large fraction of their own people because otherwise they would cause unrest and trouble in the country. I think that is approaching tinfoil-hat territory.
“Funded by American tax dollars to support your morality. You’re arguing for an immigration welfare system, and using the same bleeding heart arguments to support it.”
I have said nothing at all about who pays for it. I would be completely fine if refugees and the like were all taken care of via only private money.
Let me put it to you this way. Suppose an injured bleeding person showed up on your own doorstep. What would you do? If your answer is anything other than “pull out your gun and demand that he remove himself from your property immediately where he will most certainly die in the street”, then you and I are on the same page. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be skeptical and suspicious, that doesn’t mean that you *shouldn’t* pull a gun on him, that doesn’t mean that you should let him have free reign over your property, that doesn’t mean that you invite him to dinner and introduce him to your daughter, that doesn’t mean that you let him move in to the spare bedroom, that doesn’t even mean that you treat him kindly. I don’t think being a libertarian means being an uncompassionate asshole. Quite the contrary, if libertarians *don’t* act compassionate in their personal lives towards people who are desperate, it only gives rhetorical ammunition to the collectivists who will claim that individuals won’t be charitable on their own and so therefore government must use force and coercion, in the form of a social welfare state, in order to be “compassionate”.
I’d call Guatemalans a lot of things, but ‘medieval’ isn’t one of them. If I was being unfair I’d say mid-19th century.
So will the Mexicans. I used to go down there all of the time and to my Mexican friends, one of the worst insults would be to call someone Guatemalan, which they liked to do, a lot. I was drinking with some guys one night at a bar and there was a little guy sweeping up since the bar was about to close. Being as he was short and dark skinned, he was ‘Guatemalan’. One of my comrades goes ‘Hey you, Guatemalan, get the bar tender out here, we aren’t done drinking yet!’. Poor guy said something like ‘I’m not Guatemalan!’ and looked very offended, which brought on a good round of laughter from my drunken pals.
Yep. There’s always someone lower on the pecking order.
Except for Untouchables in India I guess, who do they have to shit on?
I’ll ask one of my Indian friends when I see him Thursday. I’m sure he’ll have some insights. But I can’t imagine those guys insulting anyone, they’re too polite.
I think they’re called Dalits now, all I know is that they’ve had a rough run the past, oh, thousand years or so.
Lena Dunham.
Last I checked, the Untouchables were given civil service jobs, that regular Indians wouldn’t take. They’re still mostly sewer workers. I assume SD would blame that on Trump.
I assume SD would blame that on Trump.
No when it comes to India Dalmia blames the filthy Hindus for everything.
Importing is stupid. Allowing entry is smart. The difference is that the latter action selects for those with enough drive, courage, and intelligence to risk all, leave behind everything they own, and take the ultimate risk in search of a better life. That’s why Europe is a decadent socialist shit-hole: their best came over here, leaving behind the snivelers and their descendents.
The distinction between importing and allowing entry is oft blurred by the veils of yokelry.
I gotta say, that officer’s family tree doesn’t branch out very much, does it?
It’s WV. The typical family tree there only has a few branches, with 3rd cousin being the longest one.
Bring back corporal punishment. Or at least public stocks. Or my personal favorite: The Tree of Woe.
Today in things that are problematic:
A white person’s painting of Emmett Till
I can’t imagine caring less about something. Well, I’m sure something will come up.
You didn’t see the monkey in that?
I don’t fucking care. I’ve had it up to here with “racist!!!1!1!!”.
Thats no shit Rhywun. The left is so desperate for a boogeyman to do battle with they are desperately trying to keep the bigotry monster on life support for as long as they can. I am sick of hearing about it.
Meanwhile no-shit real monsters run amok and are ignored as they are lefty monsters.
The problem with the left is they are going to eventually get the monster they are afraid of if they keep it up. Eric Idle had a tweet last week where he said that we may have to “put down” climate deniers. They think the temper tantrum will get them what they want. Normal people don’t take kindly to stranger’s temper tantrums, however.
Going to? Have you paid any attention to what’s going on in higher ed all around the country? They’ve already created the monster which is going to destroy them.
Interesting. I wasn’t thinking of that monster, but you’re right. I was thinking of an unabashed in group preference movement rising. Basically, what happens in prisons.
THE Eric Idle? Goddammit.
I know you weren’t thinking of that monster. They’re going to get it from both sides.
“Eric Idle had a tweet last week where he said that we may have to “put down” climate deniers.”
Yeah, that’s going to work. They’re going to get their asses full of lead is what they’re going to do.
I’m telling you guys, I see a monkey in that painting.
I see Mr. Bean tried to paint Heroic Mulatto’s French Mulatto portrait.
I see religious imagery, martyrdom maybe, what with the halo over his head.
If there’s ever going to be a breaking-point where “White supremacist” ceases to mean anything at all, i think we just found it.
What i love about their endless-griefer bullshit is that its really only effective against lefty organizations, *like art museums*. they’re going to fall over themselves trying to accomodate the protester, and will sing praises for her bravery, etc.
I see this as basically the same exact activity as the “Columbia Freshman who claimed 2 rapes in 2 months (and of course went to police for neither) and is now suing Columbia U”
If she went to the cops, she’d get in trouble for false reporting. If she went to a doctor, they’d give her meds. But if *she blames the lefty-institutions* they’ll bow and scrape and probably give her money and say they’re so unbelievably sorry and they’ll do better.
The only people who respond to the victim-mongering are the fellow-victim mongerers.
So you’re saying don’t fix something that isn’t broken?
not sure how you mean that.
in the sense that i think this kind of SJW bullshit will ultimately destroy itself, and its probably easiest to simply get out of their way? = yes
however, i think there are some institutions that they can still make life miserable for people without ever pushing things to a breaking-point. the way they’ve created prior restraint on speech @ schools is something that needs to be clawed back. (like i think U chicago, others have)
Yes, give them their safe spaces and sit back. Of course it sucks that people will have to create an alternative to traditional universities, but it’s also an opportunity to make something even better than before. Life isn’t meant to be easy.
So white people aren’t suppose to give a shit about black people ’cause that’s racist. Well I got that covered, I don’t give a shit about anybody.
Artists like to tell us that their work should be “challenging” and “transgressive”. But in practice that only means challenging certain people and transgressing against a certain set of values.
Cash, catastrophic insurance and charity. America has a vitamin C deficiency.

Have yet to get the butt. Reason at least had the courtesy of bouncing me twice. The moderators here are slacking.
Now you’re making stuff up. No one has ever been banned from Reason, not even shreek.
They said it was a spam false alert, but I know it was my rapist wit.
I was. True story.
Jesus… their software was such crap today I had to do more work than usual.
I gave up. Tried commenting several times over the last couple weeks and it got to where I couldn’t even get one post in without the server blowing up. Not worth it.
I have no idea why the site acts that way, and I’ve always seem to be able to solve it by using Explorer.
Yeah, most of the time, the articles are crap and then when there is one worth commenting on, you type it up just to see it disappear into the abyss.
Still getting caught up on Rick & Morty and holy shit the ending of the second season ep “Auto Erotic Assimilation” was…soul tearing.
What the Hell was going on in the last (pre-credits) scene. What was that thing and why did Rick do what he did? And why did it affect me as if I was watching a crippled puppy get kicked?
A Cronenberg, he wanted to kill himself because he realized he just alienates or harms everyone around him that he cares about, the writing’s really good for a tv show that has a Keith David reverse giraffe.
Show me what you got.
Do you feel it? Do you feel it?
Do you feel the beat in your heart?
Run away with me now.
(The real sadness is when you realize that season three may be as ephemeral as Half Life 3.)
That’s rickdiculous hyperbole, I’ve been waiting TEN YEARS for it, and I’m also a Berserk fan (new issues come out like every four months to a year…since 1989…and they’re nowhere near the end). You can wait another couple months.
Gabe Newell couldn’t sit on something ten years without killing it.
Lick lick lick my balls
Also, “Show me what you got” being a feature line from that song and then also the tag line from the Cromulons.
I just hope Rick and Morty doesn’t go into Venture Brothers/AsoIF production times.
Has anyone played ME Andromeda yet?
NERD
Another beauty from Eric Idle. https://mobile.twitter.com/ericidle/status/842157775115452416
And the other one. https://mobile.twitter.com/EricIdle/status/842281398094430208
Wow, that’s quite a fan base of morons that moron has.
Makes me sad, but I shouldn’t be surprised.
Pembroke College Cambridge, English Degree.
i think the fact that he spent his career as an entertainer is probably more significant than what he read @ Cambridge
Yeah, I guess so.
Unlike Cleese and Palin whose post-Python years at least dipped into documentary and ‘real’ business, Idle basically stayed welded at the hip to all the usual luvvie suspects.
Another lucky High School kid.

It’s America versus the future 51st state of America in tomorrow’s World Baseball Classic final!
*starts Hacksaw Jim Duggan-esque “USA!” chant*
I’ll re-post this in the links tomorrow morning, but quite the “accident” here.
Columbus, OH police announce “inadvertent” deletion of cruiser video files. 100,000 hours of video, going back to 2015, were deleted.
Local news have talking about that all day.
They’re with her.
No backup on those files? Just one fat fucking finger and *oops!*. Needz moar money.
Why don’t parking tickets and criminal records ever get deleted?
Science can’t explain that.
Somehow I don’t think a non-cop trying an “inadvertent” destruction of evidence defense would be given any respect.
