One of the three jihadis behind Saturday’s terror attack in London had been reported to anti-terror police on at least two occasions, British media reported Sunday.
The suspect developed deep extremist views over the past two years, according to one of his former friends. The friend said he contacted police about comments the suspect made about previous attacks, but authorities did not move forward with an investigation.
“We spoke about a particular attack that happened and like most radicals he had a justification for anything and everything and that day I realized I needed to contact the authorities,” the unnamed friend told BBC. “I did my bit. I know a lot of other people did their bit, but the authorities did not do their bit.”
The man got increasingly radicalized by watching YouTube videos of American hate preacher Ahmad Musa Jibril.
“He used to listen to a lot of Musa Jibril,” the friend told BBC. “I have heard some of this stuff, and it’s very radical. I am surprised this stuff is still on YouTube and is easily accessible. I phoned the anti-terror hotline. I spoke to the gentleman. I told him about our conversation and why I think he was radicalized.”
Erica Gasparri, a neighbor of the suspect, claims she reported him to authorities two years ago after he began “brainwashing” her children. She confronted him when her children came home and told her they wanted “to become a Muslim.”
“He was trying to radicalize the children, he would go down to the park and talk to them about Islam,” Gasparri said, according to The Telegraph. “He also came to the houses and gave the kids money and sweets during Ramadan.”

Terror attacks like those being conducted don’t happen all that secretly. As in, the friends and family of these assholes have some idea of what’s going on. People in the communities have some idea of what’s going on, and they stay silent. It’s a very small minority doing the killing, but a far larger cultural problem in these communities where radicalization can occur and is tolerated by large numbers of Muslims if they aren’t actively sympathizing with it. Then we can move on the rampant misogyny and lack of respect for basic and fundamental rights like free speech on which many of these people also suck. Then the icing on the cake in Europe is that many of these people live on the dole.

Italy has very little terrorism despite having a large Muslim population (1.4 mil) and being very close to an ISIS stronghold in Libya. Why is that? Because in Italy, if you say nice things about jihad, they throw you in prison or deport you.

The Soviet Union had achieved impressive economic growth by the 1950s, it promoted women’s emancipation, anti-racism and anti-colonialism, and supported progressive movements worldwide. An understanding of either the Soviet Union or China as one-dimensional totalitarian and patriarchal states cannot explain their achievements in promulgating and implementing women’s rights nor does it allow us to even begin to understand where their “women-friendly” legislation and policies came from. In June 1936, he reversed much of the social policy regarding women which had been written under Lenin, importantly:
Marriages now had to be registered to be recognised.
Divorce was once again made difficult
Abortion rights were restricted
The family was declared the “basis of Soviet society”
Homosexuality was made illegal
This put an end most of the progressiveness Soviet social policy may have once had.
Also, as birthrates were falling and many men were dying in the Second World War, in July 1944, the USSR introduced measures to re-affirm the values of the family, as well as to incentivise women to have more children. In actual fact, these measures restricted women’s rights even further. As of July 1944:
Divorce was made even harder
Abortion was made totally illegal
Mothers with more than two children were declared “heroines of the revolution”
Parents with fewer than two children face heavier taxes
The right to inherit family property (restricted under Lenin) was re-established.

Soviet clothing was supposed to hide women’s beauty and be as humble and primitive as possible. Soviet sociologist Igor Kon described the policy as “genderless sexism,” because the identical treatment of both genders did not give women the right to express themselves physically. Meanwhile, bodily self-expression had become an integral component of 1950s-1960s emancipation in the West. Red propaganda spent the following two decades reinforcing the contrast between the decent soviet woman with high morality and the amoral Western female.

Well fuck. My game just hit a rain delay. Arkansas up 6-3 in the 4th. I was pushing it trying to stay up and watch it anyway. I’m gonna go to bed now. when in get up in a few hours, I’ll find out if the pigs will live to play another day.
The movie was good.
Better than average for DC’s character depth, and a good story. Script was solid, was still DC dark. Decent humor placed in good areas. Fun camera work- less quick cuts.
My main con is slightly too much slow mo, or maybe just too many that slow. Also not one mention of Franz, or the word Prussia.
