FASHIONABLE!
I never read a celebrity Facebook thread. The number of people desperately hoping for him to reach out and reply directly is sad.
Greatest thing I’ve read in my life.
The injury lives in Williamsburg.
We went on a corporate outing last year where we kayaked down (and back up) the Chicago river.
I was amazed at how dirty the river was when you were down paddling in it. Now I guess I know why.
Does it have anything to do with SugarFree?
Thank doG no.
A SF Kayak event would make me wish I was still back down in Memphis getting the Deliverance treatment from local hill billies.
Hillbillies in Memphis?
no shit. The high school I attended’s mascot is the hillbillies.
It’s really weird. Democrats are in complete control of Chicago, yet all their SCIENCE! experts are also in complete control of the city’s various “natural monopoly” utilities and environmental. Why do these major public health crisis scandals keep happening in deep Blue areas like this?
Speaking of sportsball, British tennis player fails drug test for cocaine.
I wouldn’t have thought cocaine was a performance-enhancing drug.
Cocaine is often dismissed as a drug that is not performance-enhancing – the World Anti-Doping Agency regulations state that it is banned only in competition – but earlier this month the French anti-doping authorities challenged that stance amid concerns that such cases were on the rise.
How does that sentence make sense? Such cases of cocaine not being performance-enhancing are on the rise?
It’s not performance enhancing, but they make it up in volume. Dummy.
Meh, it never hurt my game…
*zing*
Not a word of a lie, I have golfed on cocaine and let me tell you the tee shots are magnificent but the short game leaves much to be desired. LSD is the opposite, you can see the putt before you make it from twenty feet away. The curl is cosmic. Weed and booze just means bushwhacking. Shrooms on the other hand are the worst of worlds if you are trying to keep score.
Me and my little brothers tried to play Halo on Xbox 360 about a decade ago while high on shrooms. The results were pathetic.
I once (late 80’s) smoked a lot of cocaine ‘base’ (the precursor to crack) without realizing how potent it was – e.g., I took a big hit, thinking it was like weed.
After 30 minutes or so, my heart came back to something approaching a normal rhythm, and I vowed to never do coke again, ever. And I wouldn’t have, except I used the same pipe to smoke some weed entrails the next day (stems and leaves, mainly) I went to the Kwik-E-Mart to play some video game. I have never performed so well on an arcade game before or since. It took a while for me to realize it was because the coke residue on the pipe I smoked gave me just enough of a kick to shine, without the feeling of impending myocardial infarction.
My experience with cocaine was that was like caffeine cranked up to 11. At first you feel like you can party all night and feel hyper-focused, then you either crash, or take for like three days because ‘This shit is awesome!’. So I could kind of snorting a line before a competitive match to maintain focus in front of a crowd, similar to college kids picking some Adderall to help pass finals. (Note, I’m not endorsing such behavior, just saying how I could see that happening.)
Of course, the more likely scenario, is just that he looks like a pro-Tennis player, and ended up doing lines trying to hook up with with Hot chicks, Hot Chicks who enjoy cocaine seem to have a homing instinct for finding rich guys to pay for their habit.
That ping pong like sucks. Why would you put an ad with sound on your page without a mute button?
Because FYTW.
Because fuck you, that’s why.
Dammit
The two replies had a different nuance. I read Ted’s in a Brooklyn accent and yours in Queen’s English.
Which is funny because I’m the one who lives in Brooklyn. And not the hipster part either.
How would you rate the local artisinal mayonnaise?
Read my 2nd sentence again.
Still local innit?
It’s a big city. You might as well ask Valley residents about their run-ins with Hollywood celebs – it probably doesn’t happen because they don’t live in the fancy parts of LA.
Ruin my country bumpkin dreams of the big city, why don’t you?
hello country bumpkin.
how’s the frost out on the pumpkin
Ever so kindly tick yourself.
Fucking auto-correct. That should be “fuck”, not “tick”.
Tick is better.
I have been bitching about that a lot lately. I find half of the webpages out there unreadable or a giant pain in the ass to read. I either playing space invaders trying to kill all of the shit that pops up or I am scrolling through a thousand ads searching for the content of the page…and then when I find it more shit pops up or the page starts jumping around.
NoScript. If a site comes up blank, and it takes more than a handful of domains to whitelist, there’s absolutely no way in hell I need to see that content. Except for bank sites and the like, and that’s what your alternate browser is for.
Another alternative chrome extension that I’m liking is uBlock.
But I’m starting to use Brave a lot more.
?
You know who else was occasionally gassy?
The guys from Blazing Saddles?
My dogs?
I had a dog once that just stunk. Would clear a whole city block. I started looking at the ingredients in the dog food. Most brands, corn is the first ingredient. Did you know that canines, in the wild, don’t generally eat corn? I started buying dog food that listed meat as the first ingredient: made a world of difference.
PETA would like to have a word with you.
https://www.peta.org/living/companion-animals/vegetarian-cats-dogs/
Fuck PETA. That is all.
That’s outrageous. Cats must eat meat. End of story.
Once again they reveal themselves to be a total fraud.
We taught a lion to eat tofu.
I dont know how old you are but when I was a kid everyone’s yard had snow white dog turds in it. Dogfood used to be made largely of bonemeal. After a day or two the turds would turn white. Now it’s corn.
You can also try shampooing them coal tar shampoo. That kills a shit-ton of bacteria.

The Trump administration just pulled funding from a group that fights white extremism
“The money promised to Life After Hate was for a new initiative where they’d partner with a tech company to identify radicalized people, reach out individually and intervene.”
Yeah, good job Trump, that kind of bullshit is the last thing we need.
Here’s there website.
They aren’t responsible for curing all of the evils in the world, but if you’re going to fight racism, why would you be racist and focus only on white racism? Oh, yeah. I forgot. Only whites can be racist.
*Their* Sorry, Ted.
You better be sorry.
Why? I could use a few friends. Q.Q
Pretty sure all these programs are just handouts to connected individuals. I’ve got to get in on this racket… Maybe reaching out to Glibs who can’t control their orphans?
Yes, sounds like a winner. Let’s get in on those sweet, sweet federal dollars and we can start with Taki’s Magazine. The articles are usually pretty good but, holy shit, the comments.
The tide of white supremist violence? Those who want to escape violent white supremacists? Pure. Horse. Shit.
This is just the kind of shit Obama would stir. That motherfucker cant get pancreatic cancer fast enough. I have never seen racism as bad as it is now and I lived through the ’60s. Jesus fuck.
What tide of white supremacist violence?
I remember when Obama first came into office. Racism almost never came up in the news and when it did it was one of the huckster race hustlers like Jackson or Sharpton. People didn’t talk about it because they didn’t think about it. Nobody fuckin’ cared anymore, at least not much. There were more and more mixed couples and no one paid much attention. Groups of young people were mixed and they were all friends. The Divider in Chief stirred this shit up. The democrats stirred it up. They did it deliberately and with malice.
Going by television ads there are nothing but mixed couples now.
The “Double-Double” generation (for you Canadians). No offense meant HM.
Good.
20 years of marriage and I still like my wife. I mean I like her as a person and would even if I weren’t married to her. Pet peeves are few, far between and very minor. One of them is her not understanding knives. My kitchen knives are like katanas to me…sacred. They never touch anything except food, a cutting board, water and soap or the knife block. I keep them razor sharp. They pass through tomatoes and pork skin like they are made of water. The edge never touches anything. I dont lay them anywhere so that the edge touches anything. They dont go in the sink. I set them on the cutting board next to the sink, wash them, put them back in the knife block. I try to cut her off at the pass and wash them as soon as I have finished using them but occasionally I find them stuck in the drying rack with the other flatware, edge against a fork or spoon. I know she poked it down in with the other utensils, scraping the edge on metal. Ugh. Occasionally I find one laying in the SS sink. No amount of explaining makes any difference so I have given up on that. She doesnt understand steel. Oh well.
Tonight she left one in the sink and then later she reached into the sink and… three guesses what I just finished doing.
Rubbing one out to yesterday’s thicc thursdays?
LOL with food in my mouth
So what’s the deal, galvanic corrosion or some shit?
Ranting on Glibertarians?
Mild rebuke? Sure. A rant? Not for people that actually experience emotions.
sutures
Not quite. She only required a bandaid and some triple antibiotic ointment. Good lord its like dealing with a child. She does not do pain well.
Good to hear, Sharp knives in sinks have sent many to the ER.
Also when doing avocados from what I hear…
The fetishes thread was a few days ago.
avocado injuries came up somewhere else recently. I don’t get it.
Cut around the meridian (equator would be the shorter circumference on an avocado, right?), then rotate the halves apart, scoop out contents with a spoon.
You have a Schutzstaffel sink?
I always knew libertarians were Nazis.
Its a scout sniper sink.
Have you tried explaining how fucking expensive a good knife is?
On the topic of good knives, has anyone here used Cold Steel’s products and, if so, would they recommend them?
Your knife appreciation software needs an upgrade.
That’s a “yes”, and “depends”.
What are you going to use them for, and how do you plan to treat them?
By and large, looking to pick up a trench knife/ larger blade for camping, potential self-defense, that sort of thing.
I’m not planning to whack away at everything I see, but if I needed to cut something like branches, ropes, etc.
I have a really nice knife that fits that description. I paid a couple hundred bucks for it 30 years ago. I have taken it out of the scabbard maybe ten times.
See above for good kitchen knives.
Get one of these; http://www.lewiscontractorsales.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=T21404&Store_Code=PAL&gdffi=6695d02f63ea49d99de40153f2e16d16&gdfms=956C12341647471F89B80FFBC33D1AA0&gclid=CMfsq7-31dQCFQqIaQodLMAGyQ
and sharpen it. I dont mean scratch at it a couple of times with a file. I mean sharpen it carefully until it will shave hair. That will take a whole afternoon. You can cut a 3.5″ branch in one swing with a little practice.
*Every time you swing it make sure it hits the ground. Don’t shave off a kneecap.
Then get yourself a good sharp locking pocket knife 3″ or less.
All of your knife needs.
Check out a company called EESE. Good knives, not terribly expensive, and a hard to beat warranty.
If you want something disposably cheap, but still highly regarded, check out Mora.
The sheath costs more than the knife 🙂
Nice link. If you think that’s quality for the price, I might pick one up.
@Suthenboy Would this be good for sharpening?
I support the recommendation for Mora knives.
sharpen it carefully until it will shave hair. That will take a whole afternoon.
I find the Spyderco ceramic sharpening system works really well to produce great edges and total sharpening time is around 10-15 minutes carefully. A simple whetstone and saliva is really more badass though.
A belated +1 for the spyderco system. Also get a strop and learn how to use it.
Also stay away from carbide scraper systems. They are usually a V or wheel kind of contraption, and will wear out the edge prematurely.
I’m fairly knife illiterate here, especially when it comes to anything bigger than a standard utility pocket knife.
Me too – I just went with something middling-expensive from Bed Bath & Beyond. It’s kind of like wine – there no limit to much you can spend on a good knife.
I’ve got a Kershaw that I use for everyday stuff, actually like it a lot. Need to pick up a better sharpener though.
My good chef’s knife is a “J.A. Henckels”. As for sharpening it, I am aware of “stones” you’re supposed to use but for now I only have I don’t know what it’s called but you use it to keep the edge even.
Why sharpen?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honing_steel
It’s a lost cause Rhy…
My strategy is to be the one who cuts everything then wash the knife and put it away before she can saw it on the edge of the sink. I just smile and dont say anything when my plan fails.
*Sams has a set of kitchen knives (filet, boner, chefs) that are actually very good and cost less than 30 bucks. Go to your local tool outlet and get a diamond sharpening block for ten bucks.
Lol boner
You can usually pick up some Old Hickory knives at garage sales for a few bucks.
^Very good suggestion^
Excellent steel.
You’re my brother from another mother. It’s the only explanation.
Does she sew? Use her good fabric scissors as box cutters on the next UPS delivery. Or use one of her (clean) makeup brushes to clean your keyboard.
Ha!
*thinks*
It’s just a knife. I can get another one of those…her, not so much. I am not trying to get divorced here. Not only does she sew but she is left handed. Finding really good left handed scissors is not easy. She would have a meltdown.
Fair enough! Ideally, this little sink mishap taught her a lesson. (Natural consequences are the best teachers. Except, of course, for the ones that kill you.) If not, maybe just citing the example of scissor abuse (as in, “How would you like it if I…?) would get it through her head.
Bought my hubby a set of Henckels a few years back (they were the ones I knew he wanted – I didn’t know from good knives.) I try to show them the proper respect – wash and dry carefully immediately after use and put back in the block pronto. When you’ve got a guy who’s happy to cook with you because he genuinely enjoys using his knives, a chick needs to encourage that sort of thing! (He’ll make his own damn sammich!)
She agrees that I am the better sandwich maker. Two meats, two cheeses, mayo, mustard, paper thin onion, folded in a napkin and a glass of milk. I asked her “Have you noticed that sandwiches always taste better when someone makes it for you?”
No, not really. But maybe there’s a difference when that person chooses to do so unpaid.
Yes. I meant someone making a sandwich for you to enjoy because they care, not the teenage guy down at Subway with no gloves and black goopy fingernails.
Fortunately, the Subway people I’ve seen have gloves – whether the gloves are safe I won’t say…
Bill Burr on sandwiches
XD
I would always do that to my mom… what do you mean I shouldn’t be cutting heavy plastic ties and cardboard with this?? Oh, let me just get this metal wire…
Sharp side up is an immediate concern but the tendency to leave bottles and jars half-way twisted shut drives me bonkers. She came from a big family but that shit should have ended thirty years ago. My favorite – peeling vegetables directly into the sink and never fishing the skins out.
They never touch anything except food, a cutting board, water and soap or the knife block.
Use my kitchen shears to cut some packing tape, I double. dog. dare. you.
dammit, this was covered already. ok, well, seconded on the unscrewed jars thing while I’m repeating stuff. I’m not cleaning up those pickles.
My favorite is packing the freezer so the door doesn’t shut/everything falls out when you open it. (preferably onto my foot)
Fuck-up #10. Ah well she’s sweet as honey and I can live with that.
Sometimes thats all you need. 🙂
I thank everyday that these are the things I have to complain about. Dirty dishes, having too much food to fit in my fridge.
I’m hating 40k 8th edition so far, and I havn’t even had the chance to play.
Just figuring out the points cost of an army has gotten a lot more tedius. What I’ve seen from the rules changes does not fill me with confidence.
I do say, however, that being able to just drop a Baneblade in my standard guard formation without having to haggle with the opponant does make me less perturbed. That tank should not be collecting dust on the shelf becuase no one plays apocalypse…
See, this is why you should just abandon Warhammer and go to learn COIN instead. Much easier.
Sounds boring.
Actually pretty enjoyable with the right group of friends.
Then again, that describes every board game ever.
Muahaha… because they broke up the fucking gargantuan Infantry Platoon from a single troops slot into a bevvy of individual squads, I don’t even have to try to meet the requirements of some of these bigger detachments. Being a Guard Player paid off… in the most miniscule fashion possible.
1500 pt Army, Faction “Imperium”:
Battalion Detachment:
HQ – Lord Commissar (59 Pts), Librarian (109 Pts)
Troops – 2x Guardsman Squad (50 Pts each), Squad Titus (65 Pts)
Elites – Platoon Commander (20 Pts), Command Squad (51 pts), Veteran Squad (96 Pts), TechPriest Enginseer (52 Pts)
Heavy Support – Leman Russ Tank (198 Pts)
Transports – Taurox (87 Pts), Rhino (78 Pts)
Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment:
Lord of War – Baneblade (571 Pts)
Total 1486 Pts.
Now I need to dig up an opponant. Luckily they’re easy to find on Saturdays.
I left 40k back in 3rd or 4th edition. Have you tried Warmachine/Hordes? I enjoyed their system a lot more, where every faction got refreshed at the same time (for the respective side), and part of the game is setting up some great combos. The fact they don’t have the modular minis helps as well… I never liked the whole loadout issues with building a squad.
No one plays it. And to be perfectly honest, it’s the setting more than the game that I like the most regarding 40k.
Besides, that whole list above is “Models I already own and painted”. I am hesitant of shelling out for a game in a setting I don’t know with no opponants to play against.
*no one around here plays it.
Fair enough. My neck of the woods has a lot more Privateer players, with Guild Ball being another one that gained popularity for a while.
This Regiment is not the army I calculated above, but did provide most of the units. I’m just linking to it to show off. (Not that I’m Golden Demon grade at miniature painting, but I’ve stuck to the “No unpainted minis on the table” rule)
Only 1 Basilisk? /sadpanda
Somewhat dated showing off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEgNANmunDM
Anyone busy hating DoW3 yet?
Still smarting from picking up Bloodbowl 2 and it’s DLC.

God damn Tump’s America!
Stop it. I am still jerking off to the story of Trump canceling the money for battling white supremacy. It’s christmas every day.
The man is worse than Hitler. Do you hear me? Worse. Than. Hitler.
Suthenboy every day now.
I’m looking for some basic libertarian reading recommendations. I’ve been plowing through The Road to Serfdom, but it’s been slow for me – I read some of Hayek’s sentences and think, “Jeeminy criminy! If you diagrammed that, it would look like the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle!” I’d like to go back further to some of the foundational texts, as it were. Would Bastiat be a good place to start? Or should I go back to Locke or any other Enlightenment-era works? For that matter, are there more recent works that are better? (FWIW, I started Atlas Shrugged a few years ago but couldn’t tolerate the one-dimensional characters. Rand may have been a good thinker, but as a novelist, she leaves a lot to be desired.)
If you still want to try hayek, you might like Individualism and Economic Order. It’s fairly ‘easy’ to read, and goes over some good economics/ philosophy around individualism. I was actually assigned to read it by a Marxist prof when I was in college.
I might be up for that. TRTS focuses so much on arguing against socialism/economic central planning that I’d like to see him make the case FOR individualism in greater depth. So what did the Marxist prof have to say about it?
Not much. It was a “History of Economic Thought Class” and like a true Marxist the lazy turd made the class teach half the course by reading different authors and presenting on them. Hayek was one of the authors, and I was assigned to read him.
If you’re interested in Ayn Rand, The Virtue of Selfishness is pretty light and quite enjoyable for philosophy. Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson is in no way a foundation of Libertarianism book, but I don’t think you can get bogged down in it either,
If you’re looking for fiction, I would highly recommend Heinlein, especially The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. On the non-fiction side, I loved Bastiat, and the fact a lot of his quotes are still relevant makes him a winner to me.
I actually bought TMIAHM a few months back but hadn’t jumped in yet. I’ve come to prefer reading on my Nook (please don’t judge me too harshly!) but couldn’t find that title as an e-book, so I have a dead tree copy. Maybe that should be my summer reading after I get through the last 50 pages of Hayek.
When it comes to books, I very much land on the dead tree side for preference, but I won’t judge someone for a digital book. The one warning I will give is that the book is written first person, by a character with English as a second language, as such, there are very few articles through the entire book. It took me a chapter or two to get used to that.
I do all my reading on my iPhone on the subway and during smoke breaks. I haven’t touched an actual book in years.
You can download a free PDF copy of “The Rothbard Reader” from https://mises.org/files/rothbard-readerpdf.
Hot damn! Just the thing to e-mail to my work e-dress to read on my PC when I’m trying to make it look as if I’m busy! (The Powers that Be keep too close an eye on web surfing!)
Been skimming this since you posted it.
Interesting to me that these 3 are still very strong anti-liberty forces. #2 moreso than I would have thought in my lifetime, I thought we’d only have to be dealing with ‘affirmative action’ (lefties really love their newspeak, don’t they?) but the whole concept of ‘diversity’ seems to have really gotten out of hand.
“Ain’t Nobody’s Business If You Do: The Absurdity of Consensual Crimes in a Free Society” by Peter McWilliams.
700 pages but broken into manageable chapters, perhaps too libertine for some and too broad brushed for others but a solid introduction/defense of the “I’ll do my thing, you do yours and let’s not fuck with each other” philosophy.
That’s the book that got me thinking. Shit, almost 20 years ago now.
Plus the author posted it as a free pdf before he died.
The quotes on freedom in the box on almost every page is a bonus .
I dont see anyone mentioning John Stewart Mill here.
On Liberty.
Thanks for all the suggestions! These should keep me busy for quite a while – especially since I’ve been spending more and more of my “reading time” lurking around here! You guys are like libertarian crack. (Or is that redundant?)
Two of the books that have really stuck with me – and which I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anyone around here (or “back there”) mention :
– Sir Karl Popper’s “The Open Society & Its Enemies”
– Guglielmo Ferrero “The Principles of Power”
The former was the book that completed my journey to the dark side – in particular, the explanation of the necessity for smaller government because of the inherent futility of “better” government. The latter is the most illuminating work on politics that I’ve read – I thought about it often during the last election (you’ll see why) – and has influenced my thinking on the subject more than any other. Also, Ferrero’s a fascinating character.
It is strange that you mention Popper, I recently checked it out from my library because someone here (or maybe the auld syte) recommended it.
Popper really does *hate* well – he spends most of the book tearing the titular enemies (Plato, Hegel & Marx) into very small pieces. Since, like any good libertarian, I despise all three, it’s a very satisfying experience.
I don’t have much of a background on Hegel or Marx really… Read the Republic, which I thought was terrible. I guess I’ll find out, but is it worth reading if I don’t have the background?
I don’t think any serious background is necessary – IIRC Popper lays out what each one is about before going in for the kill. I hadn’t read any Hegel before reading Popper and I didn’t have any trouble following the action. (I had read a fair bit of Marx and some Plato by then, though. Incidentally, I read Marx in high school history, and the teacher – whom I didn’t really care for otherwise – absolutely tore him apart. I don’t think any commies came out of *that* class.)
Popper’s almost as hard going as Hayek’s “The Constitution of Liberty”, but “The Open Society and its Enemies” is very good.
If you’re not conversant with Plato, it’s worth reading “Republic” simply because I think it’s beneficial to understand the underpinnings of that which we oppose, and the weapons arrayed against freedom.
The Law is definitely good and it’s a pretty quick, free read.
It’s the same basic style as the rest of his work, of course, but I like Hayek’s “The Intellectuals and Socialism” quite a bit, and it is very short (~20 printed pages). “The Use of Knowledge in Society”, which I believe is included in Individualism and Economic Order mentioned above, is also good.
Brian Doherty’s Radicals for Capitalism is decidedly not brief, but it is very, very good.
If you want very basic, to-the-point modern prose, Jason Brennan’s Libertarianism: What Everyone Needs to Know is nice. Note that it does not leave much room for nuance, more or less just going with the *clears throat* “cosmotarian” viewpoint on things and declaring it What Libertarians Believe. And Jason Brennan might trigger a few people on here.
In general, if you poke around on FEE‘s website you can probably find some stuff; spreading the basics is kinda what they do.
Also, Nozick’s Anarchy, State, and Utopia is not what I’d call basic, nor is it without controversy among libertarians and fellow travelers (as if anything is), but I like it, and it doesn’t come up as much as I think it ought to.
Enthusiastically second Radicals for Capitalism.
I thought that the first time I tried it too, but the more I see of real life, the more realistic those characters look.
You can learn everything there is to know from Thicc Thursday.
Thoreau’s On the Duty of Civil Disobedience is always a good read.
I second Economics in One Lesson. It’s an excellent primer on free market economics. I love Milton Friedman’s writing. Capitalism and Freedom is a great read.
I just saw This (TW: autoplay video) on the derpbook. I had to check to see if the laws were actually “restricting LGBT rights”, rather than affirming free association. I posit this to you glibs: What do you think? Are these laws unjust? And do you think it makes California look silly to do this? I seem to remember them doing this to Arizona a few years back, and Arizona threatened to pull the water that California gets from them.
Allowing someone to do something is not the same as endorsing it (though in these cases…), or violating other’s rights. Kentucky’s law is a little less straight forward imo, since it would allow what are probably state-funded groups to discriminate, which I am against.
Were there any other reasons to travel there on the taxpayer’s dime anyway? Sounds like they gave themselves plenty of outs.
That depends. If you’re rank and file, you won’t get travel at all. If you’re connected, they’ll find an excuse to call it “work related”…
Like the GAO ‘conferences’ that are basically big parties with champagne. All those probably happen is Vegas anyway.
“The California law still allows some employees to travel to states on the banned list, for special exempted purposes like collecting tax revenue, engaging in litigation or to complete on-the-job training. ”
So, all state business trips.
They never really say exactly how those states are ‘limiting LBYQ rights’. I am guessing the bathroom kerfuffle and cracking down on non-muslim bakers. I am glad to see they are still on that.
Ca is just signaling. It doesnt mean anything. It doesnt do anything.
Do these people stand up against anti-gay bigotry from Moslem countries, or just from American Christians?
Just American Christians from what I understand, travel to countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are still OK.
Question for TUNDRA and POPE JIMBO: Why the hell can’t the TWINS win at Home? The three of us are still paying for Target Field. Why the hell do they have the (pretty much) best road record and the (pretty much) worst home record? Is it because Cuddyer made them pull the pine trees from in front of the batter’s eye?
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2017.shtml
The NY Rangers were like that last year too – couldn’t win a home game for shit. Good think I only watch sportz on TV.
Nice avatar. And I also am from the land of 10,000 mosquito incubators/skating rinks. Spooky.
So what’s you guy’s take on Spicer banning audio and video in the WH press briefings? Concerning, general dick move, or fuck em?
Both?
It’s the winner’s prerogative which is spelled F Y T W and that spells moon.
The press wants to play ‘gotcha’ every day and keeps asking ‘Why did you stop beating your wife’ questions. I say fuck ’em. They have sunk to soviet Pravda level. They shit their own bed, let ’em sleep in it.
There are plenty of outlets for the Admin to use that doesnt involve them.

The problem being is that those who bother to vote are either watching Fox at the denturists or catching up on the latest buzz from the late-nite ass-holes. There really isn’t a “middle-ground”, no more. Sad!
Sure, we’re a surly group, but that seems a bit harsh.
Christ on toast, I want to see Loretta Lynch judicially , well, lynched. I’d to see all books cracked open even though the ink hasn’t had time to dry.
Thinking of Obama, Clinton, Lynch and Holder one word comes to mind: impunity. One image comes to mind: them with both middle fingers up while they make raspberries. It would be nice to see the monster they created consume them.
Reportedly the off-camera briefings were far more tolerable with less grandstanding, so I would guess/hope it’s a re-training exercise on how to behave. This is why I’m not press secretary, but that’s how I’d put it, too. “When the press corps can behave with decorum, rather than pretending they’re accepting Oscars, then we can have video briefings again. This means you, Acosta. Good night everyone.”
Honestly, if that’s what going for, they should do that for Congressional hearings as well. Watching Senators asking questions that take 5 minutes while they filibuster about their pet cause without ever getting to a point is painful to watch, I’m thinking of the ‘Nevertheless, she persisted’ crowd but both sides are really bad about it. If they turn off the cameras, have a stenographer record it, and a 3 hour committee hearing could probably be done in 20 minutes.
Anita /Sarc has managed to unite all the shitlord YouTubers. Sargon, doctorrandomercam, computing forever, Warski et al are loving what she did at Vidcon. We’re gonna get blizted with sexist content.
Watching her get angry, lose her shit and validate everything her critics say about her is delicious. There seems to be a lot of that going around these days.
Also, would.
I’d have to cross my eyes, flip her over, kick the dog away, cross my fingers and toes and then, THEN would.
If she were smart, she’d apologize and leave it alone. She won’t and we know she won’t so it’s Christmas early.
Let’s be real, what’s actually going to happen is she’s going to pop up in a day or two claiming eleventy gabillion death threats were sent to her, and then on the off chance that the convention hosts actually drop her from the anti-harassment talk she’ll claim she had to quit out of fear for her safety or something.
She’s the kind of girl you could pick up, then 3 days later withdraw consent and press charges.
I still would, but only if I had already set up a panopticon in my bedroom to film her giving consent.
Otherwise, Don’t stick it in crazy still applies.
It’s amazing what a child she is. OMG, you asked a question I didn’t like, run that guy outta here, next question! God forbid you leave your damn echo chamber and hear from people that don’t agree with you for once.
Slate used to be my go-to for all things web-related. Good comments, lots of banter but since the “death-knell of democracy” they have become insufferable. Reason fell into the web, as well. Fuck them all with flaming sticks, sez I!
I used to like them as well. I think I lost interest before the election though.
The full leftist bent has killed a lot of journalism. It used to be I could read some Left wing sigts, and while I didn’t necessarily agree them they could occasionally make some fair points. Now they just read like the prequel to Dr. Strangelove.
(Shorter version) Don’t ban me because I don’t dig fat azzes!
OT: Speaking as a total rugby noob, the first Test between New Zealand and the Lions was…about 2/3rds a match for the ages. First half was a thing of beauty to these non-sports eyes. NZ almost looked like a damned machine, what with how quickly they kicked off phases, passed, ran, the whole shebang*. And for all the pessimism I’ve heard about the Lions, they were certainly able to keep pace with the All Blacks while on the defensive. …For a while, at least; they certainly seemed to fall apart in about the last quarter. 🙁
*Again, I am a rugby noob; my only immediate point of comparison is the Australia vs. Italy match just a couple of hours before. There was a lot of sloppy play on both sides there, so reputations notwithstanding, both teams in the big Test looked positively world-class.
Glad to have you back ZARDOZ.
