In the beginning, there were many weekly articles. Weird Wednesday, Manly Monday, Thicc Thursday, Fur Friday. How the march of time has taken it’s toll. Now all that’s left is Jewsday Tuesday and yours truly. If this is some literary version of Highlander, if there can be only one, let that one be FIREARMS FRIDAY!
Okay, now that I got that out of my system, I have no idea what to write. So I’m just going to babble.
I guess the big news is that Glock’s newest updates, generation 5, have now hit the shelves. Notable are the lack of finger grooves, the flared magwell, and the ambidextrous slide stop. I’ll have to check these out once I find one in the flesh.
Pmags have been officially adopted by the Air Force following a series of tests that showed they outperformed the .mil brand by a wide margin. Huh, a private company outperforming it’s public sector counterpart? Unheard of!
Don’t mess with Texas. They have shotguns.
So it turns out this happened. I really don’t know what to think. On one hand it obviously wasn’t necessary, on the other hand… flamethrowers are definitely a credible and imminent threat. I’ll let you guys discuss.
This is also a thing now. Trolls make the world go round.
Apparently there is a new system in place that should slash wait times for NFA items like silencers. Sounds great and all, but frankly my dear I don’t give a damn. I will not give one peso to the government for infringing on my rights. Fuck you, repeal the NFA.
I appreciate a company willing to make fun of itself. In that regard, apparently I do not buy enough CAA products.
And finally, let me play you the song of my people. I may have posted this before, but I’m lazy, so take it again, bitch. And put your ass into this time.
Okay, that’s all I got. I’ll be around to answer questions, so ask and ye shall receive.
Maybe I should do a Supper Saturday, but we don’t eat supper in these parts.
You’ll eat it and like it.
I was under the impression supper was always the last meal of the day and dinner the largest.
Seems we’d want to be careful of a {{{last supper}}}…
You magnificent bastard.
Even if it’s a really large breakfast?
Correct.
Me at Denny’s at 7am:
“I’d like to see the dinner menu, please.”
Lol
Meet the new Glock, same as the old Glock.
Also, a certain sentient reptile was looking for a braced 10mm pistol.

What’s the latest news on the HPA?
There is no news other than it is the SHUSH act now.
The roni is a bit expensive but I was told I need one.
Dem tittays doe in video…
I noticed the camera panned to her chest before her face. Excellent!
Funny video. And seconded on the tits.
What pistol is that ‘converting’?
Glock
Check out their site, I think they have for another brand too. I checked awhile back but all I have is Ruger products and they don’t do
macaroni.
My wife has never touched a firearm in her life (she’s 50). We’re moving out of NYC to Virginia in the next couple of years, and wants to know what type of pistol would be the best for an absolute beginner. She wants it for recreation, and eventually one for home defense, or walking around.
Recs?
(Go ahed with the dick jokes, guys)
Start with a 22, and if she takes to it try a 9. If 9 is too strong go with a 380 or a 22 magnum
Ruger SR22’s are awesome.
Careful, .380s often have a direct blowback action that had sharper recoil than a 9mm.
Yep 22lr is best to start…plinking with 22’s is the best anyway.
Agree completely. Easy to handle, cheap to practice, fun to fire, negligible recoil. Not too loud and scary either.
The only downside is that, even though a well-placed shot is lethal, it has poor stopping power. One hopes it will never come to that.
I still carry one and this is only place I’d say it. My gun groups would rip me to shreds.
Bacon-bits?!
.22″ diameter bacon bits.
The first pistol I shot was a 9mm. In hindsight, starting with a 22 would have been better. It’s easier to get the basics down.
Completely agree. Most people are surprised at how loud guns are, because movies.
I’ve seen the opposite problem. Shooters get so used to zero recoil .22s they don’t ever want a full-powered handgun.
A full sized 9mm like a Beretta 92 or Storm isn’t a bad idea to get try right after that .22.
22 WMR is loud af.
No way… he said she’s 50. The big five-Oh. There’s only one answer…
You gotta go .50 cal. The Desert Eagle.
Go big or go home, I always say….
Walther PK380, the perfect firearm for the inexperienced woman.
American rifleman had an article for women shooters and the Walther CCP was very popular in 9mm.
i’ve never fired a CCP but want to just to see what all that new fangled reduced recoil tech is about.
I’m thinking about buying one for my wife after reading the article. I have to space out my gun purchases so the wife does realize how much I spend on gun stuff.
CCP does shoot well.
What do you think of the trigger?
Fantastic. I can’t tell a difference to the PPQ I ended up buying. The CCP fit my hand, and would be very comfortable for a lot of people.
Dick jokes?
Nah, too easy. It’s no fun when it’s just handed to you.
(See what I did there?)
start with the .22… 9mm’s are fine.. if you/someone has a .357 shoot that with .38special rounds.
If you can make it to the wilds of NJ I can let you try a variety, I have one of most standard calibers. + rifles & shotguns.
“It’s a trap!” /Admiral Ahkbar
The Bears need feeding. My friend who hunts the property found only bears on the game cam’s.. no deer.
Thanks, I’ll mention it
Someone asked almost the exact same question here this week.
Anyway, it sounds like she has a couple years to think about it.
My wife has little girl arms. She’s not strong enough to rack the slide on a .45, so we’re a 9mm household.
“rack the slide on a .45”
Something euphemism something
Awesome. Thanks, guys.
As many other Glibs have said, the .22LR is perfect for beginners.
I think the Ruger MK series would be excellent. My MKIII is relatively heavy for a .22, so it barely has any recoil at all.
I don’t have one, but isn’t one of the features of the Ruger .22/45 is that it has similar feel to a .45, should she ever want to go to a heavier pistol?
As for flinching, the semi-auto version of Suthen’s advice is to mix a few snapcaps or empty cases into the magazine to check for flinches. Step down to a lighter recoiling firearm, relax, and work on trigger control. No one will look at you askance for deciding a heavy kicking firearm isn’t for you. At least, they shouldn’t.
I have no desire to abuse myself with something like a .577 Tyrannosaur, and since I’m not a competitor, if it hurts when I shoot, I stop shooting. Nothing wrong with that.
There is a bit of pain in the process, should you wish to do something like competitive Highpower shooting, and everyone has their own way for getting around it. But for most people, why abuse yourself?
Oh, and Slammer, let her pick the one she likes. Go to a range that’ll let you rent a multitude of pistols, and will let her handle them before she picks some to take onto the range. The “petting zoo” concept is becoming more and more prevalent at high end gun shops ranges, and it is a welcome one, IMHO.
Comment from the flamethrower article:
“Sure, one person fired a gun without killing anybody. So, since it happened outside Chicago that means I need to give up my constitutional rights. Sounds legit.”
Also, improvised flamethrower = clear and present threat to life and limb; shooting totally justified in my (admittedly biased) opinion.
Loyal sidekick Rat and I have been planning to build a flamethrower for a while now; I have some plans, just need to get a couple of free days and assemble materials. Building your own flamethrower is legal in Colorado; I checked.
Because, you know, if I’m over *here,* and I want to set something on fire that’s over *there,* nothing else will really do the job.
I don’t see why it would be illegal.
It’s not like you’d have a giant sign on it saying “MILITARY GRADE FLAMETHROWER”.
Just call it a supercharged weed burner.
Interestingly, we were planning to hang a giant sign on it saying “MILITARY GRADE FLAMETHROWER.” I guess we’ll rethink that.
A can of Aquanet and a BIc ≠ Improvised flamethrower, dude is more likely to lose a few fingers if that can blows up than he is to cause more damage than singed hair on somebody else.
The can won’t blow up.
I would have lost both hands by my 11th birthday if that were the case.
Pump spray cans? Sure. I got one of those to blow up.
“And that is why they now call me lefty”
Wouldn’t an exploding aerosol can send shards of aluminum all over the place thus posing a danger to other people?
They rupture more than explode, there is just not that much potential energy in those things, and like Playa said most likely not gonna happen anyway. Based on my misspent pyromaniacal youth it is not as easy to blow things up with (unadulterated) household item as one would hope.
I have it on personal authority WD-40 is also very flammable and can be used as a flame thrower, in case you needed to improvise and you’re in the garage instead of your bathroom.
I also have it on personal authority that coating a tennis ball with WD-40, lighting it aflame, and tossing it back and forth using leather work gloves makes for an exciting afternoon.
Why improvise?

Is that FPS Russia burning those couches?
The Russians are burning stuff in SF at the moment. Probably not the couches.
They have a special incinerator for that, but I guess the fireplace is more fun.
If I ran out of things to burn, I’d probably throw the couches in too.
Are there gonna be regular links, too?
This is in lieu of PM links.
You… you don’t like my links?

They’re better than Sloopy’s links.
Oh snap…prepare for the catbutt.
Sloopy’s gonna have to rescue a cat now so Ted S gets fresh cat butt.
Not catbutt worthy – but I deep-dished him anyway.
Say what you want about cat butts, but at least they occur in nature.
Oh no he dinnit
That took a long time. They’ve had an NSN for the PMAG for the better part of a decade.
When they start using magazines to load aircraft, I’ll be impressed.

I saw that in the AF Museum in Dayton… great stuff.

Apparently there is a new system in place that should slash wait times for NFA items like silencers. Sounds great and all, but frankly my dear I don’t give a damn. I will not give one peso to the government for infringing on my rights. Fuck you, repeal the NFA.
I really want a silencer, but know as soon as I spend the ridiculous amount of money to get one, they’ll pass a bill that makes them easy to get. What to do?
Buy the silencer. That way the bill will get passed and everyone else will benefit. Don’t be so selfish.
Don’t be so selfish.

I kinda like Shoe-on-head. A doable spinner but she talks too much. I can’t imagine sharing fridge-privilege with her (oh wait, already did that). Sometimes it’s nice to age out of potential situations.
So I’ve heard tell that the new Gen 5’s don’t work with the Magpul Glock P-mags at all, which is pretty surprising to be honest. Some people say it’s only steel cased that has a problem, but that’s mostly what I shoot. I wonder if it has to do with the polymer feed lips?
Still drooling over the gen 5 19’s, though. Probably going to make that my next purchase.
Sportstalk has been all about Ezekiel Elliot this afternoon. It sounds like the NFL fucked up pretty good with this one. I wonder though, did the NFL just decide that it would be less painful to go this route than to feel the wrath of the ant-domestic violence people?
It sounds like they were mad at his lack of cooperation. Mad at the wife beating? Not so much.
i like it. but damn he really loses the tone when he dons the ear protection.
anyone discuss the Cajun Navy yet? found this, surprisingly, in the New Yorker..
https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/why-does-america-need-the-cajun-navy
In Texas, too, there has been devastation, and then heroism, and there will be, surely, a longer-gestating devastation to come. There is a cyclic pattern to the erosion of faith in government, in which politics saps the state’s capacity to protect people, and so people put their trust in other institutions (churches; self-organizing volunteer navies), and are more inclined to support anti-government politics. The stories of the storm and the navies exist on a libertarian skeleton. Through them, a particular idea of how society might be organized is coming into view.
I posted that yesterday in the links. At this point firebombing the New Yorker office would be a public service.
That last paragraph sounds peachy but if you take it in context with the rest of the article he is saying “People are losing faith in government and thats BAD!” The title of the piece is ‘why does america need the cajun navy?’, as somehow doing shit for yourself and not relying on the government is unthinkable.
it just really took me by surprise that they found anything redeemable from local responses.
That’s not the first time I’ve observed “progressives” bemoaning the fact that private/voluntary actions have embarrassed the government by doing a much better job at actually solving society’s problems.
Their viewpoint seems to be, “We need big government because voluntary coalitions of individuals will not solve these problems since there’s no profit in it. But the government failed and the individuals solved the problem, and that made the government look bad. We can’t have that because then people will just trust their fellow citizens instead of voting for more big government!”
They were bemoaning Kickstarter when it first came out. And they are still bemoaning Uber, airbnb, etc.
It’s pretty sick. Another example that came to mind was when a bunch of private businesses sent truckloads of bottled water to that Michigan town that was struggling with the undrinkable public water and some dumb shit “progressive” op-ed writer was complaining because “people might depend on private corporations for their water rather than their own governments”. Well no shit – if the governments are failing to provide that while private companies are stepping in, why is that a bad thing??
but then what will the Top Men who are destined to “organize society” read?
Salon?
Slate?
Everyday Feminism?
The Atlantic?
TOS?
A much better option. We’ll let the NY Glibs know a week ahead of time.
No more NY style pizza -> pizza wars ended!
It’s a small price to pay.
I was actually admiring the guy for bringing his ears along to shoot looters. Sign of a shooter not a poser.
They’re so stupid that they don’t even realize they’re making the libertarian argument for us. Basically, if people realize private citizens can do shit better than the government, maybe people will realize the government is not so damn useful. WE CAN’T LET THAT HAPPEN. OUTLAW THE CAJUN NAVY. YOU DON’T HAVE THE PROPER PERMITS TO RESCUE THOSE PEOPLE!!!!!
(has grand mal seizure)
WE CANT LET PEOPLE DO THINGS ON THEIR OWN WHAT IF THE PEOPLE GET THE IDEA THAT THEIR FATES ARE IN THEIR OWN HANDS THEN THEY WONT *NEED* US
“There is a cyclic pattern to the erosion of faith in government”
Such a vicious cycle.
Yeah, that line was really bugging me. A cyclic pattern would return to the status quo ante eventually, before decaying again, ad infinitem (maybe the writer believes this, but he doesn’t elaborate if that is the case).
That’s basically true. There is no such thing as a political endgame.
I’m going to the Yankees-Red Sox game, so I’ll drop this here.
Hoo-boy
Indiana man with history of sexually abusing chickens, guinea fowl and dogs wants chemical CASTRATION instead of prison time
He has a bit of a fowl disposition.
He looks like a chicken, doesn’t he?
This is what happens when you can’t find someone to hold your cock and pullet.
I thought you were kidding but the dude is obviously retarded in the clinical sense.
Yeah, that guy should be getting mental help, not serving time in prison.
Go Sox!
They didn’t send him to the nuthouse after that?
Tevildo is but one of his many names. Most people call him Sauron.
As either a Yankmee or RedSux fan, maybe you should go for chemical castration as well?
Bought the same as being a chicken fucker.
27 rings, hater
Great, last thing I need is “Northwest Indiana Man” replacing “Florida Man”. For the record, I am not writing this from under a prison cot.
So killing animals for food is a multi-billion dollar industry. But fucking a chicken is illegal.
It’s the choking of the chicken right after sex that is weird.
How has SIV been posting from prison?

So… I posted a link to the Washington Post story that’s been making the rounds about the Antifa beatdown in Berkley. The only commentary I added was that if you initiate violence, you’re in the wrong. Within a minute, someone (who I believe has participated in Antifa “protests”) posted the comment: “Tolerance is not a moral precept.”
What the fuck does that even mean?
Based on the rest of the conversation, violence is acceptable if you aren’t getting what you want. The (paraphrased) statement was that non violent protests can’t accomplish anything without a credible threat of violent protests.
Oh, well in that case: bring it pajama boy. I got your moral precept locked and loaded.

It’s not? What day is it? I ask because a couple of days ago the left said that it was.
I remember the Penn and Teller Bullshit! episode where they interviewed some animal rights activists. The activists said something along the lines of, “Violence and non-violence are not moral precepts, they are tactics.”
“OK then, I guess I’ll just kill you so you’ll shut up about my tasty cheeseburger.”
I wonder if they even read that half baked garbage or if the basic premise has just become a meme within the commie social network at this point.

I cannot tell which side that guy is actually coming down in the current context.
I read another piece of his called The Present Crisis which is interesting to me because it both aptly describe the problem of executive power in a reasoned way and yet at the same time lays the blame mostly at the feet of Trump with a little left over for Gingrich.
It’s as though he can see the problem but his political blinders are so strong he can only see one party’s hand in it.
“Oxytocin and social norms reduce xenophobia
We tend to be more altruistic to our own family and friends than to perfect strangers. The recent migration of Middle Eastern refugees into European societies has further magnified the issue, with a large divide in society between people who do and do not support the refugees.
What conclusions can be drawn from these results? It appears that pairing oxytocin with a social norm can help counter the effects of xenophobia by enhancing altruistic behavior toward refugees. “The combined enhancement of oxytocin and peer influence could diminish selfish motives,” says Hurlemann. If people whom we trust, such as supervisors, neighbors or friends, act as a role model by making public their positive attitude towards refugees, more people would probably feel motivated to help. In such a prosocial context, oxytocin could increase trust and minimize anxiety — experience shows that the oxytocin level in the blood increases during social interaction and shared activities. “Given the right circumstances, oxytocin may help promote the acceptance and integration of migrants into Western cultures,” says Hurlemann.”

http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2017/09/the-irs-scandal-day-1576-will-justice-come-for-irs-lawbreakers-at-last.html
As reported by the Washington Examiner, Judge Reggie B. Walton of the Washington, D.C., District Court last week revived legal attention to the scandal, telling the IRS it has to reveal the names of IRS employees who targeted conservative, libertarian and Tea Party groups.
But Walton didn’t stop there. He also gave the IRS until Oct. 16 to find all the records in IRS databases from May 2009 to March 2015 that are relevant to the case and to explain just why these groups were targeted.
That should be interesting.

I’m taking a Taiwanese couple out to shoot guns for the first time ever this weekend. Can we take Taiwan and give Cali to China? Call it a foreign exchange program.
I remember around 1997 someone suggesting Britain should hand over Hong Kong to the RoC instead of the Chicoms. I imagine the above scenario would cause about the same level of fireworks.

At least until the island flips over.
Saw those. They have a bunch of those in Honolulu as well. Seriously….one of my future investment projects is a vacation/travel service for RoK and Japanese servicemembers at “discounted” (ie. realistic rates) for individual families – staffed by vets and their presumably Japanese/Korean speaking spouses in MT/WY or around there – with hunting/target shooting opportunties, etc
Stolen!
(j/k)
Katsu & KATUSA Tours. You can thank me.
I was thinking about a “Big Sky Tours” in Nihongo…..it would definitely be an interesting sort of project…let the families get discounted rates with just them and their kids (no big tour groups, etc). Lots of shopping opportunities, golf, etc. Not sure about using hotels downtown or a bed and breakfast lodge style thing.
Hunting is more iffy given the lottery system in MT, but just getting to handle some real weapons in a casual (non-professional) setting would probably be appreciated.
Would probably only be limited to Summer months though – so I’d have to tie it to something else on the whole.
Either way…I probably won’t get around to it anytime soon but fills a niche….I’d definitely be interested in buying in if anyone else wanted to start something like this.
Speaking of golfing, we were riding the subway in Tokyo and the Japanese guy next to us started chatting about our visit and his own visits to the US. Turns out he’s been to the university owned golf course in my smallish hometown. Strange world.
Lots of golf in Minnesoda. You could stash them in one of the big hotels near the Mall of America. We also have several indoor gun ranges here.
I think we have non-stop flights to Osaka (maybe Tokyo) too.
Minnesota might be decent, but MT/WY gives you a LOT of great outdoors type places as well to let folks get out on the road (not actually driving) – but getting some fresh air, seeing the Rockies, etc.
All my Korean and Japanese relatives get freaked out by too much outdoors. Their idea of a forest compared with ours is much different.
My wife loved camping in Japan when she was in college, but hated it after one trip near Memphis when she heard coyotes howling on a nearby ridge.
For the real hard core visitors you could put them on a train from St. Paul to Medora, ND.
Not sure about that – might vary depending on the group – I know they still have “hunting” and stuff in some areas. The big draw too would be having other native speakers (accent or otherwise) comfortable and enjoying themselves who would interact more.
My nieces from Japan LOVE going to the gun range when they visit. They are convinced that the .22 rifles that they shoot make them complete bad asses. I also let them shoot slugs from a few different shotguns.
They fill their FB pages up of them shooting all the guns that their baka oji owns. Their phones chime like a pin ball machine with all their friends freaking out about them shooting guns (mostly positive).
Last time they visited some young men invited them to come over to their lane and try shooting their pistols. It was pretty cool.
I work with several Taiwanese who live in SF and love to go shoot
Aaaaand Vhyrus discovers the problem of writing on a narrow subject. There is just so much you can say about it and then you have to start recycling articles. Guns are especially bad. I used to have American Rifleman going back to the late fifties. There are only about 40 different articles in all that time just recycled by different writers. Really, there is just so much you can say about guns.
think of all posts at Glibs as a segue for us to provide links in the comments and shit talk.
I didn’t think guns was a narrow topic. Certainly broader than furries or callipygian women.

Well, there’s STI’s Perfect 10. Bring your Visa card.
The Glock 20 with a KKM or Storm Lake barrel, and maybe a comp, should fulfill your needs. Stoke with Buffalo Bore or Underwood or roll your own.
You have to like Glocks though.
Alternately, you can get a Glock in .45 and get a 45->10mm conversion barrel. (The reverse is not possible, AFAIK) Then you can play with stuff like .460 Rowland or .45 Super or whatever floats your boat. One of these days I’ll try a 9×25 with a comp. On an outdoor range.

There are a lot of callipygian women out there.
This got me wondering: is there an analogous 5 dollar word for “bodacious ta-tas”?

Excellent.
That’s fucking great. I award Vhyrus one internet.
“Vorbau” in German can be used to mean “exceptionally large breasts”.

Nowadays he could have said “I *identify* as a woman! What are you, transphobic??!?” He would have been hired without even having to take the exam.

“Antifa Supporters Cry Over Trevor Noah’s Daily Show Segment Mocking Antifa”
dailycaller.com/2017/09/01/antifa-supporters-cry-over-trevor-noahs-daily-show-segment-mocking-antifa/
When you’ve lost Trevor Noah…
Antifa must poll REALLY, REALLY poorly.
Or maybe Noah has looked at the numbers and decided that the money is in the 99% of the rest of the country? That even if the antifa were a bigger portion of the country, they still aren’t attractive to advertisers as a demographic because they don’t have that much disposable income (or as it is known elsewhere – an allowance from their parents).
Penn & Teller Bullshit WTF moments
Some good ones in there. I was looking for the episode with the animal rights activists I mention above. This includes the quote (last one of the bunch).
“SPLC Says Army Bases Are Confederate Monuments That Need To Come Down
The Southern Poverty Law Center has declared three of America’s largest Army bases Confederate monuments “with the potential to unleash more turmoil and bloodshed” if activists don’t “take down” the Army bases.
The SPLC included Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Benning in Georgia on a list of 1,500 “Confederate monuments” that the SPLC claims could inspire more violence like what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia last month. All three bases are named after Confederate military leaders.”
http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/31/splc-says-army-bases-are-confederate-monuments-that-need-to-come-down/
Why stop at three. Aren’t pretty much all military or at least U.S. Army bases in the south named for Confederate soldiers?
Next up will to sand down Confederate symbols and unit designations make gravestones in national cemeteries followed exhuming the bones and throwing them into incinerators.
The Civil War used to be one of the post war successes in reuniting a country torn apart. It’s over, the South lost and we were once again brothers. The monuments and memorials were testimony to Americans dying on both side and a reminder that the enemy in a war isn’t necessarily an enemy in the peace and we can all mourn the waste of life without agreeing with the means or goals of either side. Fucking Antifa is (successfully) fermenting discord and divide where none existed.
Seven score and seventeen years ago and those fuckers are trying to instill ancestral sin now.
Discord and divide are the entire reason for identity politics
They will replace all units with non-aggressive symbols. For example the 101st Airborne will not be the Artichokes.
Wait till they get to 2ID.
now*
Screw it. They can’t even be artichokes. They’re the fuzzy kittens.
Kitten = pussy
MISOGYNIST!!!!!
Dangit, I had it a design for the new unit patch ready.
*throws cat into a fire*
That has already begun.
The fatal error of many on the Left, they overplay their hand. SPLC has been known to Liberty minded folks as a Leftist agitator for years, but shit like this will rip off their fig leaf of respectability.
“Meet the ‘Vogue’ Writer Who Criticized FLOTUS’s Shoes [WARNING-GRAPHIC]
An unspeakable Eldritch horror from the depths of aeons and untouched by mortal creatures funneled her disapproval over Melania Trump’s snakeskin stilettos yesterday into an article for Vogue magazine.”
A bone-chilling digital howl rippled across the Internet as the powder-faced Gargantua calling itself Lynn Yaeger lurched over to the keyboard to unleash hellfire on the First Lady.
“Oh, Melania,” Lynn Yaeger curdled. “In the words of the late, great Lou Reed, you ‘couldn’t hit it sideways,’” after accusing the White House of failing to “understand optics.””
https://milo.yiannopoulos.net/2017/08/meet-the-vogue-writer-who-criticized-flotuss-shoes-warning-graphic/
Wait, Lou Reed is dead?
That’s Adolf Hitler in drag.
Why is this controversial? She’s married to a billionaire, she has expensive shoes. She doesn’t give two shits what people think of her–she married a goddamn billionaire.
And everything Michelle Obama wore was just the most stylish ever.
I would respect this position if she paid for anything she wore.
It’s hard to “rock” a style when you are built like a linebacker. In what world is Michelle Obama a subjectively “beautiful” woman? Trump-whore is an ex-model of Eastern European origin. She moves gracefully in high heels across a muddy lawn, for fuck’s sake. Michelle would have left craters, fell down and let her testicles out for all the world to see.
Even more evidence that feminism is primarily designed by ugly women to bring down beautiful women.
My first thought after seeing that is Zoolander.
I thought it was a photo of her dressed up as the Red Queen for Halloween.
Yeah, that’s someone qualified to talk about optics.
Dude!
Way the hell is that thing? Some homeless bag be lady. I couldn’t stop laughing given the context.
What the fuck? Holy hell that needed a much bigger trigger warning.
Ah, Lynn Yaeger. The real-life instantiation of Stephen King’s “It.”
https://twitter.com/amanbatheja/status/903604534160879616 – 670 new laws in TX….but at least a few of them actually look pretty solid…
Side note…..if you’ve ever wanted to watch someone get run over by a combine harvester….my Evil Aliens review offers a small taste of what you’ll get watching the full flick!
Did you ever watch Prime Cut?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069121/
Not yet – although I did read this review a number of years ago. I’m aware it’s on BR now, but tragically I don’t have a lot of flicks from that decade on my list of things to look out for….but I should probably add it to netflix.
Actually relevant to the links (for once):
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/08/robert-farago/trace-civilians-70-times-guns-u-s-police-military-combined/
Huh, so the SLC burn victim that the cops wanted to take blood from was hit by someone running from other cops? These keeps getting better and better.
It’s really fucked up.
The victim was also cop affiliated (reserve cop? something along those lines). The cop that falsely arrest the nurse is a licensed ambulance worker who said on video from now on he’d only bring transients to that hospital and “good patients” to other hospitals. The cop apparently worked in the Phlebotomy unit for the police before being relieved of that duty because of this incident. Between emergency medicine training AND working the blood test unit for the Police the Cop should double understand consent laws for drawing blood.
I’m sure they skip right over so-called “consent” laws in cop school. THEY ARE THE LAW!
Is it wrong for me to hope that one day one of these pigs needs emergency help at this hospital?
Also that pesky 5th amendment thingy.
I like the “cops are civilians too!” comments.

Derp Story.
While walking to Lunch, one of my coworkers mentioned an uncorroborated story about volunteer rescue efforts ignoring/not knowing about stranded minorities and poor people and made the general claim that Texans were just racist. I asked compared to where: the general US (which everyone just tacitly agreed was also racist), Asia (ignored) or Europe. The followup defending the point that Europeans weren’t racist was pretty disturbing. It was “just hating people from the other side of the river.” Because apparently Irish hating on Greeks, Britons hating on Italians and Everyone hating on Poles and Jews is “not as black and white as it is over here.” Since the group was people I don’t normally hang out with and we were heading to lunch I wasn’t really planning on a hard points discussion but that was something that really struck me. Everyone across the whole of Europe is apparently one big homogeneous block as far as race is concerned. That kind of thinking is two steps away from writing off the holocaust as just some local issue.
I traveled around a fair amount for graduate school and I can say without question, the USA is the least racist place I visited. There may be less racist places in the world, but not that I’ve been to (excluding Canada, cause who can really tell the difference anyway?).
Is it racist to hate Quebecers?
They aren’t people, so no.
I always find it funny that leftest always threaten to leave racist America and go some place with only white people. They’re never leaving to go to Africa.
Said it before, the most racist person I have ever known was a Danish exchange student. And I know rednecks and white trash and old people who just don’t know any better. Young mister Jørgesen put ’em all to same with his virulent hatred of black people.
Everyone hating on Poles and Jews is “not as black and white as it is over here.”
So were they saying that it’s better to hate people who look like you than people who don’t? That’s an odd distinction.
Yeah that’s it. But it also rests on a bed of stupid in that hating people for physical is the worst thing ever.
If you hate people for politics it’s okay, the left will definitely like to jail climate people, or wealthy people, or people that say wrongthink. That hate is fine.
So you can hate a black guy, just make sure you hate him for not supporting a carbon tax.
The last time I heard an honest to gods, no shit, racist rant was when I was in Dublin. I met an Objectivist Romanian in a pub there, and we started talking. Most of the hatred and disdain was reserved for the Muslims and the Blacks, who didn’t know their proper place… unlike the gypsies, who while horrible, at least knew they were horrible people.
The perception that Europeans are so non-racist is baffling given how much genocidal bloodshed has happened over there. There are also issues like soccer crowds throwing bananas on the field when there is a dark-skinned team playing.
I was going to say, I’ve never seen a baseball game halted because of a race riot. Also, I’ve never seen any American sport halted due to general hooliganism.
It’s like there’s a pretend Europe, where everybody pretends race doesn’t exist, and then there’s the real Europe, which is closer to pre-civil rights movement America than anybody wants to admit.
I have posted this before, but this man is my hero.
https://youtu.be/WRf28t_hLlI
By this I meant this guy, not this particular video.
Definitely not the first story I’ve read about how effective adult stem cells are.
On the other hand, I’ve actually read a few stories – years ago now….(over a decade?) where embryonic stem cells were actually harmful to the people receiving them.
Ever since they discovered that you could coax other cells into stem cells, adult stem cells have been obviously superior. The mere fact that you can create stem cells from the cells of the person who will receive the treatment drastically reduces the likelihood of rejection, as the body will treat the new stem cells as its own (since genetically they are).
Vhyrus, any opinions to voice on under-jacket shoulder holsters for handguns? Some guys at my club feel they are stupid and present a greater safety hazard due to the direction the barrel usually points.
Tonight’s dinner: steamed homard and sliced conch sauteed in lemon juice, olive oil, chicken broth, black pepper, chopped garlic, and spicy Hungarian paprika.
Down or back? Sweeping everyone behind you would be rather rude at a minimum.
I guess I would say the 45 degree angle ones have a more convenient/faster access profile, but the downward ones are theoretically safer with regard to others.
Okay, so full disclaimer: I am a bit pragmatic about gun safety, meaning that unless you are pointing a loaded gun at me I really don’t care what you’re doing. A gun in a holster is not going to spontaneously discharge, so it doesn’t matter what direction it’s facing. The may be some issues with muzzling on the draw but that can be mitigated with training. I have never used a shoulder holster myself but I may try one at some point. They seem to be very comfortable in all positions.
Thanks for the perspective.
Wtf man? Make me google frog for lobster? That sounds very good. I haven’t eaten conch since my FL days. Is this going on pasta?
My parents bought me a shoulder holster last Christmas. I have never worn it in public. It is my BBQ on the porch rig.
You could probably put that conch concoction over pasta, but the only pasta I really enjoy is ramen, protein-rich lasagna, gnocchi with heavy meat sauce, and dukbokki to some degree.
First time I’ve noticed conch around these parts in a supermarket, but I got 3 softball sized conch for $0.91. Whelk are easier to find here. Thought about a winter home in FL?
The conch thing is basically adapted from a Portuguese style mussels and scallops hot oven sautee, ‘cept I didn’t have fresh parsley on hand.
Oh man I can muckle some mussels and scallops. That is good stuff there. You asking if I thought about a winter home in FL? I did a few years ago. I almost bought there who knows how many times. Now I am wondering how I am going to keep this one. I moved back here knowing I would not have to work here. Work is thin. I have thought of packing it up and moving back to FL or taking advantage of some broken windows in TX if the Texans didn’t shoot me for being a carpetbagger.
This is basically the correct sauce base and technique, recipe written by a cunt.
This might be a great predatory time to buy a spot in Houston, buy low, put de house on stilts project.
Any house I would ever own in hurricane territory would be on stilts if I could swing it. I have had that in my head since the 90’s.
This might be a great predatory time to buy a spot in Houston,
Just don’t come down here and start saying, “You know, back in [wherever], we did it this way, and it was so much better.”
We don’t care. Other than that, welcome to Texas.
Oh man, I have never said that in my life. I listened to people from different places on the planet say those words overseas in O&G exploration for ten years. Sometimes it was true but the dick factor was always just dick.
“You guys took way too long to get open carry, some cowboy gun culture. Also, back in XXX, we’ve had permitless concealed carry forever, and it’s better back there.”
Is conch like octopus in how you cook it? I.e., either very fast or very long? If it’s like abalone, it’s delicious. I doubt it though, as the only recipes I ever see for it are fried.
I think the local H-Mart gets it in from time to time.
Pretty much, yes. If my memory serves correctly, they’re all molluska. The cheap cost for the level of belly-filling protein is incredible. All cephalopods are superior eating IMO.
Any bets on what school Jesse taught at in Korea?
The story is about the Daebyun Elementary School. Unfortunately for those kids, Daebyun is a homnym for poop in Korean. Also mentioned were these schools:
I’m glad that they aren’t going to change their names. I think people at the Junggwan school should pay vast deference to their history and not change a thing.
Yadong is where all the girls go to learn useful, marketable skills.
I think people at the Junggwan school should pay vast deference to their history and not change a thing.
Apparently a man who wears a cat-butt as an avatar has no shame.
Hey that was a gift from Sloopy and the Glib editors! I show it with pride.
And yeah, it has been so long since shame has been part of my life that it has moved from “hoary memory” to “urban legend” status.
God, I hate puns.
Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.
The fact that they walked out makes me happy and .0001% less cynical today.

Savage.
Is it hideous harpy link day?
It can’t all be bathykolpian beauties.

Um, what is going on with that last pic of her wearing goggles and knee pads?
Normally, I would assume that she has a business plan and is dressing for success. As unpleasant as she looks, though, I have to think that it would be hard to find investors in her new venture.
Roller Derby.
+5 internets for the man with a horn for a leg! She is the epitome of a “roller”. Smash the patriarchy on Thursday and Saturday, copious shower-tears and cat-snuggles the rest of the week. What a cunt.
She’s a live dummy for antifa to practice on.
I don’t know whe she is but she’s a hideous beast. I would say pig, but I wouldn’t even eat any animal that has that sort of herpes skin.
Also WTF is wrong with schools that hiring a sexist to talk is in the budget.
Ideology uber alles. You could hire some non-descript motivational speaker, or you can advance your progressive agenda by hiring some man-hating feminist. Which furthers the ideology?
RE – Glock’s newest update:
Wife and I put a few rounds through one at the show-and-sell at our range. What if I told you it wasn’t the Glock that changed, but it was me?? Only partly kidding. Its the same old Glock.
When I first got into pistol shooting, I tried out a bunch of different poly-9’s. I *did not* like the Glock. Some combination of the grip width and angle just didn’t work with my hands. Haven’t fired a Glock since then. But I picked up the new one and was pretty ok with the ergonomics.
RE – Warning Shot at Flame Thrower guy:
Don’t intend to kill unless a life is in jeopardy. Don’t fire unless you intend to kill. Don’t pull it out unless you intend to fire. This guy is going to have a hard time coming up with a cogent argument that he’s not an irresponsible asshole that shouldn’t go to jail, I think.
Warning shots in the ground then walk away while the target is still armed with the infernal device? Seems hard to square with reasonably concerned do-gooder. It does with seem to square with conflict-LARPing maniac.
I’ll fondle Glocks from time to time hut thwy always felt like a brick with a plastic trigger. I never shot one with a custom trigger though.
Serious question for the glibs – how does one work on reducing flinch? I’ve got it pretty bad. I don’t know if its related or not, but due to a weird eye injury issue, I need to close my non-dominant eye when I shoot if I’m going to be able to see at all.
Breath control and *squeeeeeeze* the trigger rather than pull the trigger. Dry fire until you’re blue in the face. Then get tons of range time in.
Well there are some exercises you can do. If you’re shooting an auto you can practice dry firing with a coin on the end of the slide near the front sight and try and keep it from falling off when you pull the trigger. You can also practice with a bb gun and work your way back up. I’ve not had the issue so not sure the best fix but those are things I would try.
Also focus on trying to bring the trigger straight back without pushing it pulling to the side. Focussing on the mechanics may help you not focus on the recoil.
A range officer once told me, “just squeeze it and let it surprise you”.
I know, I know, these euphemisms…
I would buy a 22 and shoot the shit out of it.
Wouldn’t it be more fun to shoot the .22 at various things?
Seems silly to buy a new firearm and then destroy it by shooting it with your other weapons.
CATBUTT IT FROM ORBIT
Ancient method: in a revolver load three random chambers, spin and close
You’ll see the flinch on dry chambers makes it easier to control it
Also have used almighty coin method: works pretty well
My wife is a nurse. She said everybody at her work were going on about this. Pretty pissed about it.
https://hotair.com/archives/2017/09/01/police-demand-nurse-draw-blood-without-warrant-arrest-refuses/
Good to hear other nurses are pissed about that one.
Jesus Christ! Can’t a guy go on vacation?
BACK TO WORK BOY! *Cracks whip*
Um, so after saying something like that, is there a specific half of HM you are supposed to whip?
Left/Right? Torso/Legs? Front/Back?
Could you just make sure that you don’t whip him so bad that he can’t post twerkin’ videos?
Something something beat the black out of him?
And just like that I can never run for public office.
*snort* Like that was ever a possibility!
Well, since you have time on your hands you can always get real good with your whipping skills. Like super Indiana Jones level.
That way you will be ready when HM brings is grand nephew (Ordinary Octoroon) over to visit.
No, you’re only supposed to whip me gently. Like a middle-aged couple trying out BDSM-lite for the first time after reading 50 Shades of Crap.
“I think it’ll bring us closer together honey!”
Best friend hiding in the closet un-zips.
No.
The CVille shooter has been arrested for “Discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school” and is being linked with the KKK in Maryland.

“Show me the man and I will find you the crime.”
Yup, he’s fucked. Have fun with Big Leeroy in the pokey.
I read the whole damn thread to see if anyone discussed this. A few of us commented on it last weekend. The dude did not shoot into the crowd. He aimed left. I grantee that old fucker could shoot anyone he wanted to shoot. He was doing the same thing pyro man with the flaming can was doing in my opinion. Pyro man being conveniently left out of that article.
The asshole should be prosecuted for discharging his weapon the way he did, but fuck me if Mr Torch bearer shouldn’t be as well.
grantee? fucking spell check.
Yeah, both of them should be in jail. But only racists commit crimes donchano.
The person yelling could certainly use some lessons on enunciation but I’m pretty sure they were yelling “Get him, get at him” rather than “Get down.”
It’s cute that they didn’t notice the reason he lowered the gun was to rack the slide.
Ya, I can’t tell if idiot pulled the trigger and realized a round wasn’t chambered of if words where spoken and he said fuck this, racked it and popped off a round. As they run the dumb ass through the ringer I only hope they drag flame thrower guy into it. I have my doubts though.
The only way flamethrower man will be involved is as a witness.
I had seen other videos of the racists/KKK coming down the stairs and flame man trying to fire them up. I don’t know. That’s on the defense team to work that in. And god I hate sounding like I am defending an asshole KKK fuck, but jesus. there is enough asshole going around there to fill a pool.
Nobody is a winner in this dumpster fire shitshow.
Show me on the anti-fa doll where the bad man threatened you. Don’t be specific because we want to delve into your feelz. What a fucking joke.
So Festus is of the mind that the burning aerosol can was no threat also? Some have the same opinion.
Hey vhyrus, have you read hatcher’s notebook?
The PDF is free online. It’s the single most informative work on guns and ballistics. I highly recommend it.
No doubt will inspire lots of articles
ill have to look that up.
When I get off of this awful mobile thing I’ll post it
There is a free PDF of “Hatcher’s Notebook”? I looked for a print copy once on Amazon several years ago, and the only copies that came up were rather expensive.
I’d love to see the link. Thanks!
http://photos.imageevent.com/badgerdog/generalstorage/hatchersnotebook/Hatchers_Notebook_searchable.pdf
Purports to be a link to a 650 page .pdf of it. Seems legit so far.
Excellent, thanks!
This last hour is killing me. PLEASE LET ME GO HOOOOMMMEEEE!
On the subject of weapons, apparently the UK needs common-sense arrow control: http://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/41103549
Related: I woke up this morning and looked out my window and there was an ARROW laying against my house. I told my gf about it and she was like “Yeah, that happened in May. I was sitting down watching TV and I heard ‘sscchhhhckk CLICK CLACK’ and saw it laying against the window. I didn’t think it was a big deal.”
Well, that wasn’t cricket.
Once I saw the arrow I would have bolted as well.
Did you quiver in fear? If not, take a bow.
Hey how did you come out with the storm? You home now?
Yep, back home. I had no damage, my power and water was on, A/C works fine, and tonight my internet is working. I got pretty lucky; all my downstairs neighbors had bad water damage.
Good to hear.
Second westernsloper. Glad to hear you and your property are OK. I hope your neighbors get sorted out easily/quickly*.
I was wondering when you’d be back, and, now I know.
*yeah, but you never know-good things can happen.
At least the arrow had enough courtesy to nock.
The shooter should take his act to Ashbourne.
Have a great weekend everyone. Not that I post a lot but due to that work thing I won’t even be lurking here much. Take care all.
You too. Good luck with work!
Did you get my email, or did you give me a joke email and i am now on a list?
Did, reply sent. It’s a good idea.
Speaking of that, I received a letter from the State of Colorado Court Administrator whatever telling me my name, SSN and DOB was somehow available on their website through their jury pool database search. Did you get that letter?
not yet…
Could be the state IT persons only allowed access to the redneck hillbilly side of the state so we could have our identities stolen. One never knows these days.
OT, I think it’s hilarious that assorted Dem skin-bags like Pelosi are trying to distance themselves from the anti-fa movement. Reminds me of when I was a wee feller and managed to set the garage on fire when Mom wasn’t watching. She let me fuck around with the burn pile and I was six years old. What the fuck did she think was gonna happen? Dunces and lack-wits, the lot of them.
Question for the peanut gallery:
I have a handful of firearms that I haven’t had time to put rounds through since . . . well, since I’ve bought them. The only ones I’ve shot in the past few years have been my 12 gauge during dove season last fall and my carry gun at a range around a year ago. (Yes, shame on me) I flat didn’t have the time or money to go to the range during school.
Currently I don’t have a ton more time, and I’m still broke (shakes fist at student loans), but getting to the range is becoming a higher priority. I’m simply nervous about carrying around a gun that I haven’t fired in over a year, and I’d like to put a few rounds through my other guns, considering that I bought them for that purpose.
The question is this… is it worth getting an annual membership if I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to get to the range? I’m thinking that I should just pay the hourly rate for now and upgrade to the annual membership at the local range if I do end up using it more often.
Look around, some places are free!
I would just pay some place for a few hours.
Maybe check Groupon (if you live in a big enough market) because they’ve done shooting deals in the past (CHL classes and the like). You might find a discounted membership somewhere.
This comment thread is getting a little tense so how about a little Adele to calm things down.
She’s kinda fat but twenty year-old me wood. On another note, Westernsloper seems to think that I was defending anti-fa. Nothing further from the truth, I would have liked to see that dude put a round into Johnny Storm’s foot just to demarcate the boundary.
LOL……no I wasn’t. I just had that same discussion with Hyperbole last weekend and he was of the mind that a flaming aerosol can was not a deadly weapon. I thought you agreed. No problem either way it is just an opinion. We all have them. I respect anyone’s opinion even if I don’t agree with it. I am not trying to be a dick and apologies if I come across that way. That is not my intent.
Personally I’m not sure of my panic mode but “fire in the face” deserves some sort of defense mechanism. Butt across the jaw? I can’t believe he didn’t shoot that fucker daid.
The twenty nine-year old me totally would.
Note: I am currently twenty-nine years old.
So Akira is John? Or is John Akira? We don’t know anymore…(sobs). “Forget it Jake, it’s Glibtown.”
Oversharing but I once squawmped a fat chick outside the Legion Hall in the mud. Not one of my proudest moments but YOLO?
Dirty rumor is they have a Gen 5 to rent at C2 Tactical in Tempe. I’m sure they’ll let you play with it,
