Man, the NFC East is a joke. I guess they’ll all pick up some wins against each other, but…wow. Somebody could win that division at 8-8 this year. The Giants looked as bad last night as the Cowboys did yesterday. Thankfully that concluded the NFL week 2. It was probably worse than Week 1 to be honest with you. Let’s hope the quality of play improves soon.
Baseball has some huge series going on in the homestretch. The Yankees topped the Twinks and dropped the Minnesodans to just 1.5 games ahead of the idle Angels in the wild card chase. The Red Sox kept their 3 game lead over the pinstripes by topping the reeling Orioles. The Dodgers dropped the series opener to the Phillies. The Brew Crew inched closer to the Rockies for the second NL Wild Card spot by blanking the Pirates. And the D-backs fell to the Padres in a meaningless game.
Not much else going on yesterday. Although, I’m starting to notice NHL preseason scores on my sports feed. I’m not quite ready to start posting them here, but the time is coming soon. Until then, enjoy the Hunt For October and the fact that I have no love for the NBA and won’t report on any of that until the playoffs.
Anyhoo, it’s gonna be a long day, so let’s get on with…the links!
Sometimes when its Man vs Nature, man wins. Sometimes he loses.
There’s a lot wrong with Hobby Lobby. The store layout is awful and their pricing on matting and framing seems a little high. But I gotta say, this is retarded.
What kind of shit is this? Colorado trying to take on Florida and Ohio or something?
What a terrifying story on prosecutorial intimidation. The “paper of record” is acting like its a good thing, but it sure looks pretty fucked up to me when a fishing expedition is coupled with intimidation tactics and more leaks than the Titanic.
Nancy Pelosi found out the hard way that letting DREAMers stay won’t be enough for the other millions of illegal immigrants. Actually, she was probably zonked out on whatever drugs have been making her schizo lately and has no idea what was happening. But the rest of America noticed.
Hurricane Maria don land for di Caribbean and don start to dey hammer Dominica. This one is looking ugly for the Caribbean. Let’s hope it keeps track and stays well east of Florida. Although that could bode poorly for the Carolinas.

YouTube “Economically Censors” Ron Paul, Labels Videos “Not Suitable” For All Advertisers
You know what’s pathetic about YouTube ‘Advertiser friendly’ claptrap? It would not be hard to find people willing to pay a premium to be shown on these “unfriendly” videos’channels, becuase they reach the audience those advertizers want to reach.
Sounds like a market opportunity.
The main obsticale at this time is getting the vewer eyes on the more savvy platform(s)
What I mean is, it’s hard to point the viewers to these alternate sources and get them to wander over.
And then there’s the relative user friendliness of these sites (which needs polishing) etc.
Vid.me is pretty good and a lot of the YT political prognosticators have a presence there.
Vimeo isn’t too bad either, from what I’ve seen, but I don’t use any video sharing services real heavily.
My issue with vid.me is that they require more fiddling about with who to allow scripts from to get it to play.
We use Vimeo to host our video content where I work. The problem with YouTube is that it’s so thoroughly geared towards hosting videos with an eye towards making a profit through advertising. I work at a government/non-profit organization, so advertising on anything we put out is a huge no-no. Plus, our creative content people are artistes, and the video quality on Vimeo is a lot better and the presentation is much cleaner, so they love it.
Seems like bitchute is getting some traction as an alternative.
I wish i had the money, knowledge, and the time to start a youtube competitor. But alas, Im poor, work too much, got a D in my CIS class in college, and my bathroom is too small to store a server.
I hear Hillary is hiring new IT staff. You sound perfect.
Naw. The fringe benefits are nice, but the retirement plan is a real killer.

ahem, it’s french benefits. Sheesh
She hates poor people from the south. Iys nice to dream though
Remember, folks, YouTube is run by a company whose mantra is “Don’t be evil.”
*it’s not evil when we do it
That’s the sad part, they honestly believe their evil acts are doing good.
So W, relative to our short conversation yesterday, is YouTube a case where the equity markets are asserting the “right” control and keeping YT from serving its political ends to the detriment of its revenue streams?
I don’t feel sure either way, because I’m not sure who EXACTLY is deciding what content is “objectionable”. If the advertisers are being pretty specific about what they don’t want to sponsor, then you could at least claim YT is serving its business model. If the advertisers are just complaining about “objectionable stuff” but YT staffers are deciding what exactly constitutes objectionable, then I’m willing to blame them a bit more.
The other question is “Are there advertisers that Youtube is declining to do business with because the advertisers are themselves ‘objectionable’?”
Good question
YouTube is a subsidiary of Google. Personally, I really don’t think equity markets have sufficient control of Google. A lot of both Google and Youtube’s behaviors seem like they’re more about enhancing the personal social capital of management than enhancing shareholder value. It strikes me that it would be relatively simple to quarantine content away from advertisers who find the content objectionable. Moreover, both Google and YouTube have been quick enough to assert free speech rights when others complain about content. I’m inclined to believe that YouTube, at least, engages in content based discrimination. Of course, that’s their right. But, it should also be the right of shareholders to remove management that is wasting their capital, something the biases in the law render exceedingly difficult.
You gotta get out the special glasses. Their full mantra is:
Don’t Be Evil. We’ve Got It Covered
Don’t be Evil. We Don’t Like Competition.
No see, you don’t get it W, they’re telling other people not to be evil, because they’ve got that covered.
As much as youtube and google annoy me, I think this is largely driven by the advertisers who have been pulling ads for a while now over any association with objectionable content. There aren’t that many ad buyers in reality since most of the money gets funneled thru companies like AppNexus.
I heard they said “All of us or none of us”. I voted to keep none of them. We have procedures, people.
They ask the question and make the answer easy.
If they’re gonna give a false dichotomy, it’s pretty stupid to make the right choice one that even some of their supporters are hesitant about and the wrong choice one that roughly half the country ajlnd the president have expressed some degree of support of.
First of all, I hate that fucking term ‘Dreamers’. It’s so much bullshit. I want them all deported right now just because of that. No fault of their own, but a harsh lesson for politicians and their insufferable pandering. 2nd, you don’t ‘demand’ anything, you little fuckwits. Now I actually want them deported, brought back, and deported a 2nd time to Antarctica. The other thing is this is amnesty, no matter what Pelosi and crew say. What they’re attempting to do is put them in line in front of legal immigrants. Then and worst of all, it does nothing but encourage people to keep up this behavior of sneaking in with their little vermits, so that they get deported, but their kids get to stay. Then once the kids are legal, they can sponsor their parent, cousins, aunts, uncles, siblings, dog, chickens, 5th cousins removed. Fuck this shit already, just throw open the fucking borders and then when we have about 2 billion 3rd world peasants on welfare, the situation will auto correct.
When bad behavior is rewarded, one should not be surprised to see more of it…
Re: the mad pooper link … When my brother was in college, his preferred means of revenge was to take a huge dump on the offending person’s windshield. He got quite good at it over the years, and pooped on many things in many different states. I don’t know what to say about that. Some people just want to watch the world burn … then poop on it.
Why?
I can understand wanting to watch the world burn, but why shit on the achievement?
I honestly don’t know. I asked him about it once and he just said, “It’s funny. It’s poop on things.” Sometimes he puts little flags in it. He has, on occasion, decorated his poops with funfetti and glitter. I really don’t get it.
A kid in my Junior High pooped on a teacher’s desk. He was suspended, then went on through High School normally. I think there was a pooping in urinals thing going on for a while in Jr. High School as well
I pissed in the cooler where you used to get your milk at school lunch. Did it on a bet while in the lunch line.
I got suspended because some asshole retard ratted me out.
I got suspended because some asshole retard ratted me out.

Those meddling kids…
Shitty thing to do. The person who has to clean Jr. High urinals already has a crappy enough job.
When I was in Jr High on a road trip football game we were flipping pickles off napkins and sticking them to the ceiling at a McDonalds. We were yucking it up and thought it was great fun. The coach gathered us up, took us to the parking lot and read us the riot act of how fucked up it was for us to do that because the guy who had to clean it all up already had a tough job. We all felt about 2 inches tall when he was done with us. He was a good coach. He never taught my scrawny ass to be a good football player, but that is not the point of jr high sports is it?
Pooping in urinals? Mr. Mackey ain’t having any of that.
Does he own the local car wash?

67) My wife and I re-watched North by Northwest the other night. My kids dropped out after about half an hour (bah, kids these days), but what a great movie. I noticed one thing—in the beginning, main character Roger Thornhill is made to drink a bottle of whisky, and then forced to drive a car. He’s soon been arrested and charged with drunk driving.
I had always had the impression that drunk driving was a more recent crime, though, pushed through by MADD maybe starting in the late 1970s or early 1980s? And stories I’d heard from before then suggest that driving drunk was treated with a wink, “here, have one for the road,” not a big deal at all. But obviously that’s not the case in this movie from 1959—heck, the police want to do a blood test on Thornhill. Some theories:
A) Drunk driving was always a serious crime if you were seriously inebriated, but being tipsy was okay. What MADD did was push to make the rules stricter, set a specific BAC limit, etc.
B) Drunk driving was not a primary offense—so long as you drove lawfully, you couldn’t be charged with it. Only if you were pulled over for another offense (as Thornhill in the movie was clearly driving recklessly) could drunk driving be added to the charges. This is what MADD changed.
C) It was a regional thing—in NY State, where the scene in the movie takes place, drunk driving was seen as serious in 1959. In Wisconsin or Alabama, say, it might not have been treated as such a big deal.
Anybody know if it’s any of these, or something else entirely? What’s with the more recent lowering of the BAC limit from .1 to .08, does that make any difference in road safety, or is it just harassing motorists who happened to have a couple drinks with dinner?
A:
Once there was a test for the BAC, the limits were set around ‘hammered’ when lowered to ‘sloshed’ and now it’s around ‘tipsy’.
Nope, “buzzed”
http://buzzeddriving.adcouncil.org/
That’s not a measure of drunkenness!
I despise the “buzzed driving is drunk driving” comercials. NO, its NOT. The penalty for two beers should not be the same as doing 4 keg stands.
Of course not. People who do keg stands should be flogged until the flesh has been flensed from their bones.
Ooooh. Kinky…
Unless your driving is causing an actual hazard to anyone else on the road, the penalty for 2 beers or 20 shots should be exactly the same: nothing.
The problem is 20 shots serverly harms anyones driving ability. When u gotta close one eye so you only see 4 lanes instead of 8 on a 2 lane road, you are an accident waiting to happen. But i agree with your sentiment.
A lot of it’s moral preening, not what is or isn’t a safe level of alcohol consumption.
It’s also about money.
This. The state of CA loves them some automatic 10 grand and change fines from each DUI. For the children.
^This^
I propose a solution.
Since fines are meant to represent the offence to the community, how about all funds collected as fines get pooled, then refunded to the taxpayers, proportional to the amount paid in for the fiscal year in which the offence took place.
What’s with the more recent lowering of the BAC limit from .1 to .08
Get with the times.
.05. Good Lord. Better hope the restaurant doesn’t give you a bit too much in your single glass of wine with dinner.
That’s the Mormons getting their prohibition on.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but as a Utah resident, that law drives me crazy. If wager 80% of the legislature have never been at a function where most people are drinking. It’s sheer ignorance. I don’t drink, but I don’t have a problem going out with friends and being a DD. This only serves to harass those who drink, and it will have a chilling effect on out of state business doing anything in Utah.
Plus it’s against the religions principles to legislate the religion.
It was .05 in CO in the early 80’s.
It seems only fair that two hours of every day is given to the drunks to drive freely on the road. Say 1am-3am
“If you don’t drink, don’t drive. If you drive, drive like hell”

A fantastic movie.
Although, I would have loved to have seen more of what transpired between them pouring the bottle down his throat and them bundling him into the car.
Also, James Mason was the best villain ever.
James Mason was the best villain ever
^ This is the correct answer ^
To paraphrase someone: I could listen to James Mason reading the telephone book.
And, of course, a young Martin Landau was James Mason’s sidekick in crime.
My favorite Hitchcock movie. Thornhill’s drunken phone call to his mother kills me every time: “They poured a whole bottle of bourbon into me!……no, they didn’t give me a chaser.”
North by Northwest. Wife and I watched it last year. In the scene there the airplane is strafing our hero wife blurted out “Holy hell, I just noticed that Cary Grant is a complete fruitcake. Look how swishy he is.”
Yep
His wives and Sofia Loren disagreed.
Great movie – very ahead of its time.
I think the DUI fine in the movie was $5 (his mother says “just pay the $5, Roger”), which wasn’t much of anything, even in 1959.
Did you notice Hitchcock has two cameos in that movie?
You got me curious so I googled. According to this site, $5 in 1959 = $42.33 today
Can you imagine being wasted, leading cops on a chase, crashing into cars, and only getting off with a $50 fine?
It was a crime long before MADD came along, however enforcement of the crime was spotty at best. In one town/county they might throw the book at you, in the next you might spend the night in the drunk tank and get a $50 fine.
Socially it was not considered a particularly bad thing to do ranking somewhere between jaywalking and streaking in terms of social disapproval. Basically as long as you weren’t a complete alcoholic people viewed drunk driving as being in the category of “Youthful Hijinx” category.
What MADD changed was the way people viewed drunk driving more so than the laws today people look at you like you murdered a dozen children if they find out you drove drunk, and that social attitude that it is a very serious crime has allowed the prohibitionist and control freaks to rachet up the enforcement and penalties while constantly lowering the threshold for what qualifies as drunk driving.
people viewed drunk driving as being in the category of “Youthful Hijinx” category.
“Youthful hijinx” or “necessary evil”?
I know driving drunk was played for laughs as recently as the Cannonball Run movies. Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. jump in their car dressed like priests and peel out. Dude watching laughs and says, “Those two are more fueled up than that Ferrari.” Good stuff.
It was still pretty funny in Wolf of Wall Street, both in a car and a helicopter. But I get that he was supposed to be seen as the most vile type of man alive.
I prefer “Saboteur” and “The 39 Steps”, which tell the same basic story as “North by Northwest”.
My impression is that it was largely A. Standards were made stricter. And penalties were heightened.
“In the Facebook post, Daniell Rider writes: “This decor is WRONG on SO many levels, There is nothing decorative about raw cotton… A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves.””
She must have missed the class in high school where you learn the slaves were freed in 1866.
A lot of today’s cotton comes from India and Egypt. I’m not even sure if we’re in the top ten producers anymore.
I’ll never forget the look on my mother-in-law’s, who had barely ever left Brooklyn, when she was down in Alabama for our wedding and saw a cotton field for the first time. My dad “appropriated” a piece for her and she thought it was the greatest thing ever.
That’s pretty funny – like the first time a northerner goes to the tropics and gets excited about palm trees and coconuts. They are about as exciting as acorns to the locals.
You have acorns?! That’s so cool!!!
My aunt, who had never been out west(Arizona) bought a big box so she could take a tumbleweed back to Missouri.
Hell, I want a tumbleweed now.
Got nowhere to put it though.
You can’t keep tumbleweeds … they like to move on to the next town.
I’ve though of selling pet tumbleweeds. People could put it in their yard and just watch it blow around. If someone can get rich selling pet rocks, why not a pet tumbleweed?
So you’re saying it’s also cultural appropriation? /prog
So you are saying a bunch of it is still produced by slaves?
Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist domestically. Back home we call it “South Georgia Snow” because when the bolls open up in the fields it looks like it just got snowed on if you squint.
Oh and yeah hundreds of acres farmed by a few people and some heavy machinery. It doesn’t bring jobs but it certainly brings money. But yeah if it makes you feel uncomfortable you can just not buy the decoration and switch to wearing polyester.
My maternal grandparents were sharecroppers around Cordele until Papa had the good sense to join the Army Air Corps at the onset of WWII. When Nanny was a child of eleven, she was only required to pick half a bale (150lbs) per day while the boys had to pick a whole bale but she also had to make lunch for everyone. I consider it one of my most importantly fatherly duties is to ensure that need not be a life for my kids.
Finding out this happened at hobby lobby makes sense now. The lady just went there looking for something to complain about. They have committed wrong think and so must be targeted. I imagine most black people don’t appreciate this woman ‘white knighting’ for them.
My guess is that Hobby Lobby’s reaction will be to pray for her. I’m being serious for once.
Good Christians should pray for those sick in body and mind.
That and they should pray for their enemies, and those who despitefully use them.

Under Trump, Most Americans Lack Basic Knowledge to Understand Current Events, Study Finds
I mean, they haven’t even been to all fifty-seven states!
Yup, it just all of the sudden happened under Trump. It’s not like the general population had been known to be apathetic to news in the past.
That was my first reaction as well. Why is “Under Trump” included in that sentence? It’s irrelevant.
Of course I know why, but still…..
Click bait
It’s because the majority of smart people instantly became stupid on January 20th as a result of Trump’s sekrit rushen brain discombobulator. This is a known fact.
It’s not like the general population had been known to be apathetic to news in the past.
To be fair, it’s probably sensible marketing. Who’s going to be more likely to click on a story telling them how stupid the Great Unwashed are?
“only about a quarter (26 percent) of Americans can successfully name all three branches of government, with one-third of respondents unable to name a single branch, 27 percent who knew one branch and 13 percent who knew two.”
My daughter is learning about this. She’s in the third grade. She is one of those 26 percent of Americans who can name all three branches–I know because I quizzed her on it the other day for her test this week.
It’s too bad Trump is visiting people’s homes at night and drilling their head so all that Civics knowledge leaks out. I remember under Obama, when everybody had perfect knowledge all the time. What a great world we traded in for a mess of pottage!
It’s because we don’t have Saturday morning cartoons, with the Schoolhouse Rock segments interspersed between episodes of Bugs Bunny and The Wuzzles that teach kids about grammar, mathematics, history, and civics while they eat giant bowls of Rocky Road cereal, or else C-3PO’s cereal.

I remember taking poly Sci 101 in college and the teacher started talking about how a bill becomes a law. I was, like, hey I already know this from schoolhouse rock during Saturday morning cartoons.
I didn’t see Cav’s post above. My apologies for wasting bandwidth.
And how was it different under Obama?
“The center has been doing its annual Annenberg Constitution Day Civics Survey—ahead of Constitution Day, celebrated this year on Monday—for several years.”
Under Obama everyone knew the Constitution and no major hurricanes hit the US. He truly was a Lightworker.
Don’t forget that the oceans receded and we were spared the apocalyptic water world predicted by ManBearPig!
“When the public hears news of a travel ban proposed by Donald Trump being struck down in whole or in part by the courts, it should recognize the interaction between the executive and judicial branches of government and remember that freedom of religion is protected by the First Amendment.”
Seeing as that is the way you frame this issue, you might not want people to read the Constitution, cause then they’d understand how the democratic party has no problems destroying the Constitution in order to confront Trump anywhere and everywhere.
Maybe they forgot how it works when the highest court upheld his temporary travel restriction.
They forgot the whole Supreme Court thing. And no practice of religion was banned
What about DACA which should have been a legislative job? Funny they ignore that
Or Paris agreements
Well Hillary supporters think if trump is impeached hillary gets the job
Or that his pardon of the sheriff is unconstitutional
He’s been President for 9 months. So they’re saying that Trump literally caused people to become spontaneously retarded on January 20, 2017?
To be fair, that actually seems to be what he’s done to the media/pundit class.
They were retarded well before Trump came on the scene, though.
“. So they’re saying that Trump literally caused people to become spontaneously retarded on January 20, 2017?”
Nah. Before that, like January 2016. How else do you think he got into office?
‘…And therefore can’t be trusted to participate in governing this country, or even their own affairs.’ How progressives usually end that chain of reasoning.
As ostensibly concerned about the plight of the poor and the disadvantaged as progressives claim they are, their actions indicate great loathing and distrust for those people.
Not the first time it’s been said here, of course.

Hillary Clinton refuses to rule out challenging legitimacy of Trump’s election win
Remember the national debate over whether Trump questioning Her inevitable coronation would be treason?
You know, I wish I could say “go ahead and pout” but I think she’s power crazy enough to risk serious violence to get to the presidency.
Every time this woman opens her clap trap, I am reminded how America dodged a bullet for the second time. The first time was when AlBore couldn’t steal the 2000 election with an army of lawyers and then proceeded to leverage his insanity to make millions peddling a collectivist big government scam to the usual good-think believing idiots.
And I want to point out that if it was not for double standards, the proggies would have none.
Shouldn’t there be some kind of statute of limitations on this? How about a statute of limitations on just whining about it?
We’ll Gore lost back in 2000, so it seems you can carry on about it for 16 years. Or maybe it’s just the time between each election lost by a democrat.
There is a statute of limitations. It’s the day in early December when the electoral college casts their binding vote.
Gore challenged it but dropped the public challenge after the EC cast their ballots. Clinton is under the illusion that a binding vote can be undermined well after the fact if she can gin up public support.
She’s wrong to the point of absurdity. And it’s costing her internal support. You don’t see too many elected Dems supporting her right now, do you? And the few that are sit in such deep blue seats that they could openly praise Stalin’s purges and get away with it. You don’t hear a peep out of people in contestable districts or in states Team Blue are desperately trying to hold senate seats in. States Trump won, in many cases.
She’s destroying the moderate wing of her party. And doing it quickly.
Maybe she didn’t study civics. Or maybe she did and Under Trump, forgot civics.
After she showed us how the rule of law only applied to us unwashed idiots and not to her, I am confident that she extrapolated her stance on civics to be similar: i.e. the rules don’t apply to her.
It’s telling that Sanders can drum up support among Congressional Democrats for his laughably naive healthcare bill, the one even NYT dismembered in its pages, but nobody is going to bat for Hill-dawg.
I hope she never retires.
She’s destroying the moderate wing of her party

The tards respond to the news:
We are stuck with Gorsuch and no ACA due to this.
Not one tittle of the ACA has changed since Trump took office.
If the situation were reversed we all know that the GOP would do this in a heartbeat.
Yeah, I remember when McCain and Romney lost and the GOP installed a military government, rolled back the elections, and ruled by fiat.
In fairness I think McCain would be happy to do that.
Personally, I think all herselfs actions right now are a preemptive setup to her claiming more victim status when they ramp up another investigation on her. After years of lawsuits, new clinton emails are coming out that do not look good.
Hillary Clinton has said that she “would not” rule out questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 US election over the investigation into Russian interference.
In other words she’s going to bilk those bitter clingers who can’t get over the election for every dime she can get out of them.

“Oh, come on, Roger. Just pay the five dollars, and let’s get out of here.”
Right, but I think that was his bail— not the fine for drunk driving. They were going to have a trial the next day for that.
“Pay the two dollars” is a vaudeville skit about a guy who got a fine turned into jail time by his stupid lawyer. With each new charge, the protagonist begs the lawyer to let him just pay the two dollars.
What Americans get wrong about race in the U.S.
“economic inequality” is not a problem. Most people don’t ask “Am I doing as well as the average of another demographic group?” they ask “Am I doing better than yesterday? (or last year, etc)”
And this selfish thinking is why we need wise cultural marxists in power to tell us what we really should be caring about and setting policies to make the New American Man.

A Campus Conservative’s Year Facing Anger, Doxing and Intimidation
Amazing stuff. We had a Republican Club when I was in college in the 80’s. Nobody cared, much less tried to intimidate them.
This is a big part of it:
“This year’s annual Constitution Day lecture at Princeton University was titled “F%*# Free Speech: An Anthropologist’s Take on Campus Speech Debates” and maintained that “the academy has never promoted free speech as a central value.”
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/451473/free-speech-princeton-constitution-day-lecture
The marxists won the campus battle of free speech, so now they get to not only redefine what can be said in speech, but history.
Guy in Nazi armband learns the hard way he’s a jerk
My first thought is this is fake. My second thought is the media is celebrating criminal assault. And if you say it’s not right to assault someone even if they are a Nazi dbag then suddenly you are a Nazi sympathizer. Park the planet I want off.
I’ve been tempted to assault assholes in Che gear but decided against it because of the law and the principle of free-speech.
I hope it’s fake, though it doesn’t help.
Imagine if this had been a peaceful fundamentalist Muslim. You’d never hear the end, and for good reason. You see Esme ideas are wrong, and some ideas are wrong if you catch the drift.
Seattle Police officials on Monday confirmed reports of a man sporting a swastika armband, saying he was “instigating fights.” But the individual refused to cooperate when approached by officers.
“Being in public saying things people don’t like” isn’t “instigating fights”. Knocking somebody out who hasn’t even verbally threatened you is chickenshit and un-American. Celebrating chickenshit un-American mob violence is irresponsible.
Rabid pack of dogs use Twitter to hunt down man, press rejoices. How could this possibly go wrong?
You just don’t understand. Cheering this is just like storming the beaches on Normandy.
Which in the creepy way means the left has literally declared war on them. And so such acts aren’t too surprising.
That really makes me think it’s fake. He doesn’t want to cooperate and they are saying he was instigating it.
And I’ll ask the same question I’ve been asking since Charlottesville. Does this mean its okay to start ballbatting Marxists? Their death toll makes the Nazis’ pale in comparison. I mean, I’ve been stuck on that standard about free speech and not beating people in public for their opinions. But, if we’re changing the standards, I can’t see any moral reasons to leave them off the target list.
There has been no true marxism, because the right people have not been in charee, so don’t blame marxism for the evuls of marxism!
Right, but I think that was his bail— not the fine for drunk driving.
I haven’t watched it in a long time, but it was always my impression that five dollars was the fine, and it had to be paid on the spot. Cash on the barrelhead.
Like in the song.
I’ve seen the movie a hundred times probably. She was speaking metaphorically. Basically “Roger, the money isn’t worth the time or the headache. Just pay whatever it is so we can leave.”
Dude was a high level advertising exec. It could have been five dollars or a hundred and it didn’t matter to mother. She had better things to do, like play bridge.
Exactly. Except, of course, it was two dollars, not five.
U guys will argue about anything. Probably would argue over whole wheat Vs white bread. Note. Whole wheat is better.

Tard Tuesday: Don’t Dis the Party
All within the party, nothing outside the party, nothing against the party.
So basically, this person wants a one-party state. Great.
It’s funny when even the democratic socialist won’t join the party that demands stuck loyalty.
Sorry, but why is this person wrong by their standards? Libertarians believe in individualism. Collectivists, pretty much my definition, don’t. If you believe in principle that the right and moral thing to have happen in society is for people to subsume their own selfish interests and concern for their own happiness for the good of the collective, why the hell should Bernie get a pass? He made his point. The collective took the information and made its decision. For Comrade Sanders to go around whining and getting in the way only pushes his selfish agenda in opposition to the collective will.
“Monday on MSNBC, former Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign director of communications Jennifer Palmieri said President Donald Trump’s retweet of an animated gif that shows him knocking down Hillary Clinton with a golf ball was “promoting violence against women.”
Palmieri said, “I thought it was both appalling and revealing about his state of mind. And it’s appalling because it is making, you know — let alone being unable to let go of the election, but promoting violence. You know, that is promoting violence against women from the president of the United States.”
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/09/18/jennifer-palmieri-trumps-golf-gif-promoting-violence-women/
So it’s Trump who is unable to let go of the election?
I’m pretty sure the Sony reason he did that was because Hillary Clinton continues the 2016 campaign.
*only not Sony…
If I were “Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign director of communications” I’m pretty sure I would be so embarrassed by my job performance that I’d never make any public statements again.
And as I’ve said before, these are the same people who have been assuring us that the Public Theater presenting material to satisfy their presidential snuff fantasies in the middle of Central Park constitutes high art.

Honestly reading that I have no clue what he’s taking about. But I did like the first reply:
“I did not have sexual relations” or “read my lips” or “yellowcake” or “like your plan/keep your plan.” Spare me your sanctimonious crap.
He’s whining about Sean Spicer appearing at the Emmys, and it’s funny because he was the subject of a fawning NYT or WaPo profile which was almost entirely him boasting about how easily he conned gullible reporters into repeating the Obama Administration’s spin supporting the shitty Iran deal.
Unfortunately, many Americans lack fundamental civics knowledge, according to the recent Constitution Day Civics Survey by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, and therefore cannot understand current events.

“U.S. investigators wiretapped President Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to a report by CNN that vindicates the president’s earlier claims, which were mocked as a conspiracy theory.”
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/09/18/trump-vindicated-report-says-obama-government-wiretapped-trump-campaign/
I’m surprised CNN ran the story.
The predictable cycle of a presidency-killing Trump lie:
“He’s lying!”
“Okay, so he’s not lying, who cares? Move on.”
“We never said he was lying!”
He was lying but if he wasn’t it was a good thing. Heads I win, tails you lose.
I’m shocked that nobody is shocked by this.
This puts past accusations against administrations abusing their power to shame.
And who could have guessed that if given a secret court that would rubber stamp their surveillance requests, a group of politicians would use that power for political gain??
I know Meuller is going to indict someone…. you don’t gear up a special prosecutor’s office and hire a slew of high-priced attorneys only to walk away and say “nothing to see here”. So they’ll get their skin, just like the last go-around with Scooter Libby and his perjury trap. They’ll dig until they get enough to at least force a plea – which will be used to vindicate the fact that a sitting president used the FBI, CIA, NSA and – what was it, 12 agencies? – to spy on the opposition party’s presidential campaign.
This makes Watergate look like a traffic ticket. And nobody gives a rat’s ass. And once they produce an indictment, any indictment, the question of the corrupt use of state surveillance to attack political opponents will disappear.
Very well said. And because of the liberal media and Obama worship, they’re going to get away with it.
Um….not exactly. Manafort was apparently a subject of investigation back in 2014 for his Ukraine activities. This was an update on that, so it very well could have been legal, and not necessarily corrupt.
BUT, Obama’s insistence, amplified by the Leftist Media that he never wiretapped Trump Tower is now a purely transparent lie. Trump was right, Obama spied and lied.
Prepare for another “What is the meaning of ‘is’, is” argument by a cadre of lying proggy lawyers.
This is it! We finally got Trump! Then we can undo the election and HILLARY WILL FINALLY BE PRESIDENT!
CNN probably chose to run it so they could make it as bland as possible as well as do damage control for Black Jesus and female Kim “My election was stolen” Clinton…

But at the same time, the doctor who did the rib removal should be publicly known. Because it would be my belief that this was an unethical surgery, and I’d like to know that little piece of information before I go see a doctor.
So the song I chose got me thinking: was that the first really big song sang from a parent’s POV? almost everything comes from the POV of the teen or young adult. I can’t recall anything before, or really after now that I think about it, that was popular coming from the parent’s position.
“Hound Dog”, by E. Presley, right?
I always thought that was from a girl he was pursuing.
Yes. I replied in jest.

Absolutely not a good thing…the other side gets a say because everything’s on the table and also the GOP are consummate pussies who can only be relied on to fuck up everything they touch.
Agreed. Nothing good will come out of this.
Anything proposed by an article 5 convention still has to be ratified.
The potential for a ‘runaway convention’ is effecitvly nil. They’re supposed to stick to the defined topics of convetion. Even if they spewed forth a great many proposed amendments that fundamentally changed the way things work – they’d not get the aforementioned ratification.

I’m not a fan of them, but the Falcons are playing some good football and I don’t know why he doesn’t get any hype but Julio Jones is the best receiver in the NFL, IMO.
Agree. I am not a fan of the Falcons, but am a fan of Julio. He is awesome. I didn’t get to watch the Falcons game last weekend though. Also, who cares if Dallas ever plays better? They are Dallas. Von Miller chasing after Prescott the whole game could have something to do with his play. Also, Dez covered by Aqib didn’t help either. Denver D is pretty tough.
Who’d have thought Lions-Falcons would be game of the week?

During the Cold War, most Americans received their news and information via mediated platforms. Reporters and editors serving in the role of professional gatekeepers had almost full control over what appeared in the media. A foreign adversary seeking to reach American audiences did not have great options for bypassing these umpires, and Russian dezinformatsia rarely penetrated.
————-
Russia has keenly exploited our growing reliance on new media — and the absence of real umpires. Last year the Russian government supplemented the growing reach of its state-owned, English-language media outlets — RT and Sputnik — by employing a network of trolls, bots and thousands of fake Twitter and Facebook accounts that amplified damaging stories on Hillary Clinton.
Those pesky Russians never could have gotten Trump elected while Walter Cronkite was on the case.
Are they seriously re-inventing history for this one woman? If a writer didn’t let commie propoganda thorough it was because they were to busy pushing American propoganda.
All if this irritates me, but the what bothers new is that it is still just a big side step that Hillary committed crimes, and had nothing but contempt for the electorate and the emails showed that. Yet some how it is the Russians fault she’s a horrible human being
It’s fun watching Progs squirm every time they bring up Russia. I try to corner them and ask which states had voting machines hacked? Oh, none, so how did they impact Obama supporters in six swing states?

Is there anyone left at Fox who hasn’t been accused of some sex crime?
http://www.thedailybeast.com/fox-news-blacklisted-scottie-nell-hughes-after-rape-claim-suit-alleges
Has even one of those accusations been proven?
I’ve started seeing stories in my Twitter feed about the O’Reilly accusers having credibility issues. So, I’m thinking no. But, it doesn’t matter at this point. It already achieved the desired outcome, get Bill booted off. Same thing with all these other accusations. Pretty soon we’ll start hearing about Greg Gutfeld having made passes at Dana Perino.
Every victim deserves to be believed.
And every non-leftist deserves to be fired.
These accusations usually have nothing to do with the truth. The intent is to cause harm because of the immediate reaction, and when the facts finally get the light of day, they are just ignored. Especially if they show that the whole thing was a lot of made up shit.
Well, Megyn Kelly got out before the shit hit the fan, so no.
I’ve had Benadryl before drinking and all it does is make me fall asleep.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/article-4898562/How-avoid-hangover-cheap-wine-revealed.html
It will keep you from getting a hangover. You take it after drinking, not before, duh! Also, suggest not drinking cheap wine to avoid hangover.
I’ve always found that a good vomiting after heavy drinking prevents hangovers.
Drink a ton of water after getting your drink on, and you will be fine. Hangovers are caused by dehydration.
I’ve had Benadryl before drinking and all it does is make me fall asleep.
Makes sense. Diphenhydramine is the primary ingredient in every OTC sleep aid and night-time cold remedy sold in the US.
Water is the key. Get a quart of water in you before passing out and everything will be much better.
but what if you’re so drunk you forget the water? I say just get four hours sleep. Then when you wake up you’re still on the buzz to some extent, but are sober enough to start hydrating, And then it’s a gentle slide into the day and then into bed.
Well, I say water, but what I’m really talking about is probably not getting so drunk you forget to drink the water.
If I drink a lot, especially beer, I will get dehydrated. Which is why I don’t do it very often. But in case I do, I’ve found the best thing is to drink a quart of gatorade after my last drink and take a benandryl. Then I will inevitably wake up in the middle of the night and have strategically placed another gatorade on my nightstand. After drinking that, hitting the bathroom, I will typically go back to sleep and the next morning I feel a little groggy until coffee, but no hangover.
I might like you best.
Alternate beer/water or at least beer/beer/water.
Or put ice in your bourbon.
No. It goes Beer. Water. Beer. Beer. Water. Beer. Water. Beer. Beer. Piss. Beer. Water. Water. Beer. Piss. Water. Beer. Piss. Beer. Piss. Water. Beer. Piss. Piss. Beer.
Why are you drinking urine?
Beer has water in it.
For some people, the histamine in red wines causes them headaches and congestion. AIUI, this is often misattributed to sulfites. Though sulfite allergies do exist.
Anyway, an antihistamine will help counteract those histamines. Though proper hydration is the second-best method for avoiding hangovers.

No, what we need is for their Daddies to cut them off. Here’s the thing, none of this, from this crap to the intersectional feminism of transgendered lesbians of color is written by anyone who has ever had to work a day in their life. Poor people, people who actually have to worry about putting food on the table, don’t spend their time on the internet talking about how oppressed they are. They’re too busy trying to get out of poverty. These are spoiled, lazy, little shits who want to spend their life explaining their unlimited entitlement from the rest of us while screaming that anyone who demands anything whatsoever from them in return is oppressing them. “You should check out the derivation of ‘Trump-ite’ and ‘troglodyte,’ because they both refer to people who dwell in deep, dark caves.”
the terms “referring to the same thing” is completely unrelated to where the terms come from. Their origins are completely unconnected. Derivation has nothing to do with it.

Some of thouse sounded suspiciously like “South Asian” problems.
What is going on here is when a couple first gets together, they spend nearly all of their time having sex and doing other fun stuff. Afterwards, when that inevitably slows down a little, you start to notice other things that you didn’t really pay attention to before. And when children come into the picture, stress comes with that, so little things that didn’t bother you before, start to.
The other thing is that couples get married typically in their twenties, they’re typically immature, barely more than children themselves.
My advice is, don’t marry too young, and date for at least a couple of years first. And then never have children. Better advice, don’t get married. Ok, I don’t regret my 2nd one at all. It’s been 7 years now, 10 years together in all. I tend to just let anything trivial go. My wife likes to ‘clean and organize’ my stuff, which often leads to me not being able to find stuff. I just ignore it. When she wants to fight, I also just ignore that. Works.
I wouldn’t take the whole cart, but I think there might be something to be said for the benighted pre-sexual revolution courtship rituals in terms of stability and longevity for marriages. The impermanence and frivolity of the institution in the modern age lead to it being treated as such.
The new relationship / lots of sex thing releases a lot of endorphins, which is like a happiness cocktail. That most definitely will make you ignore little stuff. I think this is pretty much science. And I freaking love science, man!
Also science: That “he’s not romantic any more” thing.
I used to work with an anthropologist who worked on human sexuality. One of her findings was that women from all cultures will tend to stray after a few years. In similar time frames and at similar rates. She framed this as a mating strategy, built in as instinct. When looked at across all cultures, women prefer to marry the nice guy – the good provider. Then, after a few years and a couple of children something switches and she’ll want to have a fling with the alpha male – a bad boy, athlete type.
This prevents “putting all of your eggs in one basket”. Literally.
She was doing a lot of research on the hormonal and brain chemistry changes that drive the “seven year itch.” She was convinced that this drive is biologically driven, and not due to men becoming unromantic and neglecting their wives. In addition to work in humans, she was also studying primates who have similar strategies.
Yes, that’s about right.
IOW… NEVER be the nice guy. Nice guys finish last in the gene pool.

The number of big red flags I’ve chosen to ignore because “Hey, at least I’m getting laid” makes me shudder to think about. And takes the edge off being single now.
That, and spectating the relationships of virtually all my friends and family. “The actual fuck are these people thinking?” is my usual refrain. Thank god I never had a kid with any of my exes.

In all honesty a significant number of those were pretty solid reasons for divorce. Sure the phrasing may have been bad and the timing of the demand may have been immature but the complaint reveals an actual issue that needs to be addressed and if left unaddressed should lead to a divorce.
Ok, sure he should have stood up to her and gotten the divorce before they had kids and yeah even better they should have discussed the issue of kids before getting married but being bullied into becoming a parent is legitimate grounds for divorce.
Well I suppose it depends on what those political views are but if your spouse suddenly adopts political views you consider abhorrent and evil I can’t see how any person could in good conscience stay in the marriage.
No he is not forcing you into anything. For whatever reason he has decided that this is what he needs, you now have a choice, agree to it or divorce. The choice remains yours. Now he may be being an asshole or he may not, without more details and context it is impossible to say but he isn’t even the one demanding a divorce he is giving you the choice.
Just like the guy above who had kids t make his wife happy once you agree to marry someone you are agreeing to give them some say over your reproductive choices and your deciding unilaterally not to have any more children or abort a pregnancy without taking his wishes into account is absolutely grounds for divorce. It being your body means you are free to do it but he has every right and absolute moral grounds to divorce you for it.
Ok, not really sure what this has to do with this article since it has nothing whatsoever to do with divorce but really you should be divorcing his petty ass.
OK, you can try to make him sound like an ass, and who knows maybe he even is one but at the end of the day it is irrelevant. You have presumably entered into an agreement where the two of you claim a monopoly on each others sex lives and what is really being said here is you are not meeting his needs. If you refuse to let him get those needs met elsewhere and refuse to meet them yourself then he absolutely should divorce you. Now you can have a grownup conversation about what those needs actually are and maybe move forward and find a compromise that meets both of your needs or you can bitch about him being a jerk and guarantee the divorce.
The polyamory one isn’t really a choice. He wants a divorce. He just doesn’t want to be the guilty party.
That’s pretty common in divorce, BTW. I have friend who is going through it right now, and even though he is the one who wants a divorce, he moved out, he quit seeing the kids (for like 5 months!), and she wants to reconcile, she wants to go to counselling and she has started therapy… he is spending a lot of energy sending mean texts to her, showing up at the house to yell at her and call her names, etc. And then he’ll go on a rant about how she’s terrible because she quit begging him to stay…. so it is all her fault. He desperately wants to be seen as the victim in the whole thing.
People are just F’d up and often can’t think straight, particularly about relationships.
Actually in the case of the Polyamory one it is the opposite. In this case either way he is going to be seen as the bad guy unless she not only agrees to a polygamous marriage but wholeheartedly accepts and enthusiastically defends it. If they get divorced he is the cheating scum who picked another woman over his wife (and there almost certainly is already another woman), if they don’t he is the scum who forced her into demeaning herself by allowing him to take a second wife.
He doesn’t want a divorce he wants to be with the new girl and is willing to get a divorce if that is what it takes. If he just wanted a divorce his only course to not come off as the bad guy would have been to just divorce her over something else then move in with new girl.
Polygamy guy was one where I seriously wanted to know his religious affiliation.
Yeah given the fact that it is in England and the use of the term polygamous instead of polyamorous it is almost certain to be a Muslim. The question is whether it is just because he has the hots for another woman or if it is because he is becoming radicalized in his beliefs
A buddy of mine and his wife started a relationship with a mutual (female) friend of theirs, for no better reason afaict than that “She’s really close to the family.”.
The actual fuck are these people thinking?
I don’t know. Personally I am in favor of such relationships although I find for various logistical reasons they tend to work better when there are more men than women. Sure you are much more likely to get a case where both of the women are bisexual and as into each other as the guy but contrary to popular opinion men tend to get along better with each other than women do
Marriage is between a man, a woman, and their Ooloi..
“A disturbing new poll shows that a full 19 percent of college students think that it is acceptable to use violence to disrupt a speaker who is saying “offensive and hurtful” things on campus. This number is slightly higher among students who identify as Republican compared to Democrat students (22 to 20 percent), and is significantly higher among male students (30 percent) versus females (10 percent).”
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/christinerousselle/2017/09/19/not-okay-one-fifth-of-college-students-say-violence-n2383518
Well that’s depressing
only 19%? Why aren’t the other 81% beating them down?
These are the same 19% that either will spend most of their future in prison, or jobless in their mum’s basement. That type of attitude won’t get you far in the business world, unless you’re an NFL player, Hollywood star, or other professional sports star or celebrity. And what does that account for, like .0001% of the population? So yeah, VERY high probability of prison or mum’s basement.
A couple more generations of public schools and we can get that number up to 75%!
“Gab, the “free speech alternative” to Twitter, has been given five days’ notice to move its domain to another service provider or risk being taken down.
In an announcement on Twitter and Gab, the ad-free social news website “for creators who believe in free speech, individual liberty and the free flow of information online” revealed today that they were given short notice to move to another domain service for allegedly breaking laws in Australia.
In an email from the “Asia Registry Legal Team” from Asiaregistry.com, which hosts Gab’s registration, the company was notified of allegedly violating the Australian company’s abuse policy by hosting content that broke Australian anti-discrimination laws.”
dailycaller.com/2017/09/18/free-speech-alternative-to-twitter-doesnt-last-long-at-all-hit-with-anti-discrimination-violation/
I imagine this kind of BS is going to be pulled on any Twitter or YouTube alternative that starts to gain popularity. Mustn’t have places that don’t suppress unprogressive thoughts.
*sigh*
We need to start exporting respect for free speech.
I know out domestic supplies are low, but we can crank up production.
I hope this starts happening often enough that p2p DNS becomes a thing.
Not an expert, but I don’t get the impression that Australia’s speech protections are strong enough to make it a good place to host such a service. Same for Canada or the UK. I would think that would be something that Gab would want to give serious consideration considering the service they’re trying to provide. I wish them well in finding a more hospitable platform.
Nixon should have said he was spying on dems because he thought they were colluding with Russians.
Were they not? I remember finding out that Ted “The U-Boat Commander” Kennedy flew off to Moscow, in secret, to beg the Russians to help him run against and defeat Ronald Reagan in the 1984 elections. I also remember that a lot of the Vietnam War era left loved the commies. Shit John Kerry.

‘Witness activism’ drew Minnesota couple to live outdoors in BWCA
I love the BWCA. I’m not wild about the copper mining there, but I’d rather that they work out a safe way to do it instead of trying to ban it outright.
But it really irritates me when two guides take a year off to hang out there and then pretend it is to “protest”. Fuck, their guiding service will now be booked forever by proggies who want to go in with the real deal.
Especially when they didn’t even just go off the grid for real.
I’m no barfman, but that does make me feel kind of nauseated.
We abandoned Luddite principles to save Luddism.
You must be an adherent of Reformed Luddism.
Orthodox Luddism merely holds that technology leads to unemployment, eventually.
“Luddite” here being used as a shorthand for Unabomber-esque technophobia rather than the strictest academic sense. It fit the original GWB quote better that way. Don’t judge me!

Kill the Rich
I think David Cameron was the worst prime minister Britain has had in the 40 years I’ve been alive, but his replacement, Theresa May, is competing hard for the title. She has jettisoned the strategic sense that was Mr. Cameron’s only worthwhile talent, and has scrapped his best initiative: fighting international corruption and tax evasion with financial transparency.
Files from HSBC leaked in 2015 showed how years earlier Swiss bankers had conspired with wealthy Westerners to help them dodge taxes. Last year, the Panama Papers revealed the use of shell companies to help corrupt officials hide their money.
————-
If democracies don’t rein in the world’s richest citizens and restrain the widening gap between the 0.1 percent and the rest, they will not stay democratic for long. And since today money flows seamlessly through the globalized financial system, stopping it requires international cooperation.
This is why the Cameron government put joint efforts against tax avoidance and corruption at the top of the agenda when it chaired the Group of 8 summit meeting back in 2013. Even the watered-down final declaration still looks groundbreaking. Information about company ownership should be made available to the authorities (hello, Delaware and the British Virgin Islands!). Companies should stop shifting money across borders to minimize their tax bills (Apple beware). Poor countries should be helped to obtain the taxes they’re owed (from the trade in bananas, say).
I suspect his definition of “corruption” is as elastic as the definition of “campus rape”. How dare productive businesses try to minimize their tax bills?
So whining about corrupt public officials as you want a bigger government?

Huh. Listening to Trump call out the scumbags in the UN. I like this guy even if he is a New York yankee. He is delivering a giant ‘fuck you’ that is long overdue.
The Socialism line was great
Which is precisely why you know he is a Nazi! Never mind that the “S” in NSDAP – that’s the acronym for the Nazi party for the people most likely to call anyone not left of Marx a Nazi – was all about socialism or something (yes, even in German!).
Has he evicted the UN from the US yet?
I think he hinted at that.
I’d just like to see him deport all the 3rd world tin pot scum looking for handouts so they can continue to starve and oppress their own people, like today.
You guys remember when Trump was supposedly a nutjob for claiming that the Obama administration was wiretapping his campaign and listening to him in Trump Tower?
Turns out that was all true! Judge Napolitano breaks it down:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/09/19/paul-manafort-was-wiretapped-us-investigators-judge-napolitano-reacts
It’s interesting watching CNN’s take on this story. At CNN, the story is all about how the FBI has evidence that the Trump campaign was collaborating with the Russians.
The suggestion that it might be untoward for the FBI to be digging up dirt on a rival campaign is never even mentioned. I don’t see how this doesn’t implicate Comey. My understanding from the CNN story is that the FBI couldn’t have obtained the FISA warrant without the the head of the FBI’s approval and there was actual evidence of a crime. CNN spins this as if it means that there must have been a crime caught on tape–or Comey wouldn’t have approved the warrant application and they wouldn’t have obtained the warrant.
I take it as evidence that Comey needs to be investigated for ties to the Clinton campaign and whether he was running interference for the Clinton campaign. Using the FBI to collect dirt on political opponents is some nasty shit.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/18/politics/paul-manafort-government-wiretapped-fisa-russians/index.html
Doesn’t this suggest that both Comey and Loretta Lynch must have approved this warrant?
Their own article suggests there was nothing. This Russia narrative is about using American pravda to muddy the waters so obama admin won’t go to jail
Who was stupid enough to think the creepy corrupt chocolate jesus didn’t bug Trump tower? Those people need to get out their checkbooks. I have a bridge for sale.
That was only because the wise Obama admin was already on to Trump about his evil Russian plans, so they had no other choice but to wiretap Manafort who was obviously the connection between the Putinistas and Trumputins. They tried to save our democracy, but Trumputin stole it anyway. It’s like a Hat and Hair story.
See, here’s the thing. The initial investigation into Manafort was killed off due to a lack of evidence. Then re-started somehow by the FBI during the campaign as they sought a new FISA warrant. CNN is completely silent on the basis for that new warrant.
CNN then tries to pretend that some evidence of collusion on Manafort’s part was collected, yet the investigation ended early this year. If they had actually found real evidence of anything, there’s no way in hell the FBI wouldn’t have sought a new warrant and continued.
What does make sense is that the FBI was operating based on politics. That the FBI went digging, and that when Trump’s people were moving in they decided to cut bait and run.
It’s bothersome that Mueller and Comey are such good friends–that they once both threatened to resign from the FBI together. At some point, however, the questions about Comey’s complicity in this need to be answered, if not by Mueller then by someone else.
And Comey’s boss, Loretta Lynch, needs to be questioned, too. Remember, it was her responsibility to decide whether charges would be brought against Hillary Clinton over her email server. That Comey announced that there wouldn’t be charges brought against Hillary over here email server was beside the point–that’s the decision of the Attorney General, not the head of the FBI. That Comey announced that decision means there must have been instructions from Lynch to Comey.
What else did they collaborate on?
I’m finding it harder and harder to believe that Comey didn’t fib at some point under oath at the very least.
Comey did claim he became a leaker due to trumps tape tweet…even though trump tweeted a day AFTER the loyalty dinner dialogue appeared in the nyt which obviously came from comey
He also said he never got a memo on sessions recusal which he did
I think people have overlooked an important aspect about mueller. He interviewed for fbi director job with trump (mueller is 70) a day BEFORE he was appointed counsel
Trump should appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Comey/Mueller connection.

Trump at the UN: The problem in Venezuela is not that Socialism has been poorly implemented, it’s that Socialism has been faithfully implemented.
Are there problems in Venezuela?
If there are, it’s the legacy of colonialism and American imperialism–up to and through the Cold War.

These assholes are really butthurt that they no longer have any influence.
I think it’s partly that and partly the active, and well-deserved, shitting on their “accomplishments”. If they’d been succeeded by a Romney administration I don’t think they’d be quite this upset.
Let’s talk about smart diplomacy to the guy who ran interference with complicit media fuckwits to sell Obama’s plan to help one of our most cantankerous enemies arm itself with nuclear weapons, not to mention cede it billions of dollars to continue funding terrorists.
Next, we’ll talk with Jonathan Gruber about Trump’s dishonesty re: healthcare reform.
Yes. Also, worries about “alienating our allies” by Obama flacks is hilarious.
Contributing to the opposition campaign in a close ally’s election?
THAT’S DIFFERENT!!
Haven’t these asswipes run out of butthurt yet?
If what Trump said alienates out allies then we have the wrong allies.

Oh and Woodcock is oh so serious of a name?
From what I hear Woodcocks can occasionally be found comfortably nestled in soft mountain valleys their preferred habitat is warm southern wetlands. While some varieties of woodcock prefer well forested wetlands others prefer wetlands located on bare plains. Woodcocks can also occasionally be found in and around the mouths of rivers
Tomorrow one of my ol’ high school friends is headed off to the urologist to get a tumor/growth underneath the skin of his balls checked out. He sent me an email that was, not surprisingly, filled with dread.
He’s already had an ultrasound done, but the doctor didn’t send him to an oncologist. Anyone have an idea what _could_ happen next? I’m trying to talk him off of a ledge.
He’s not answering my phone calls but I can message / email him.
Sounds like same issue my dad had. Turned out to be a cyst or something; essentially a big nothing. Had it removed, stopped by casino on way home and won $5000 on video poker.
And to this day he carries around that lucky cyst in a pouch around his balls.
“Yo Dawg, we heard you like ballsacks, so we put a ballsack on your ballsack.”

Could be a hydrocele or something, no big deal. If there’s any possibility of cancer the next step would likely be a biopsy.

“We call for the full restoration of democracy in Venezuela” says Trump, after saying US does not seek to impose its way of life on others
10:37 AM – Sep 19, 2017
They don’t understand Venezuela can be the one to restore it. It doesn’t have to be the US
Brian doesn’t understand the word “impose”
Sure he does, he just doesn’t understand the word “Democracy” and thinks it works like the DNC, and the actual election was an aberration. So if we were to restore ‘democracy’ in Venezuela, we’d be imposing rulers upon them.
Nor the word “restoration.”
I thought lefties are all about democracy, democracy uber alles, tear down all institutions that resist the democratic will.

I watch that from beginning to end at least once a year. Schama isn’t my cup of tea politically speaking, but that series is really entertaining, and I enjoy his writing.
Paranoid fantasist casts stones.
Unfortunately, with Donald Trump this is not the stuff of a political thriller. It is painfully plausible and all too real. The evidence suggesting that Donald Trump may have serious mental health problems is overwhelming.
He is a compulsive liar who creates his own fantasy world. Trump is also extremely moody and impulsive. Trump’s advisers have to satisfy his extreme narcissism and nurture his detachment from reality by presenting him — on a twice-daily basis — with a file folder full of “good news.” Fellow Republicans have been recorded on a hot mike suggesting that Trump may be “crazy.” The American news media, as well as commentators from other countries, have voiced serious concerns about Trump’s mental health and the threat it poses to global security.

Samuel Johnson: How was the first modern English language dictionary created?
The problem with writing dictionaries is that the work is never done.
I like this one:
The entry for the word “excise” would have resulted in Johnson being sued by the Commissioners of Excise for defamation had the Attorney General not advised the body to refrain from taking action. The definition read: “Excise: A hateful tax collected by wretches hired by those to whom excise is paid.”
