Remember, back during the Bush administration, Mueller and Comey threatened to resign together in protest against one of George W. Bush’s policies.

I find it unlikely that Mueller will find anything wrong with anything Comey did, that Comey will be completely exonerated by this investigation–and that means it will find that Comey was right to do nothing over Hillary or anything Hillary related.

Anyway, broadcast media sucks. I read the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and various international papers that are published in the areas you’re interested in–all with a critical eye. I also find good stuff the NYRB. There’s a lot of crap in there, too, but it’s like Wikipedia in a way. If you want to know what the new books are on a certain topic and how they related to, improve on, or fail in relation to what’s come before, the NYRB is a great resource.
And they’ve got experts writing on everything from genetics and physics to the history of the Austro-Hungarian empire. If you want to know what’s going on in Niger and why, chances are they’ve got a journalist in the country, and someone writing a critical piece of the region’s history, with all the books to back it up, too. I know it’s considered middlebrow, but, like I said, I use it like Wikipedia. You’re not about to swear by any of it, but if you want a quick place to see the references, the NYRB is a good place to start.
I also skim Science and Nature for topics I’m interested in.
I find I tend to be out ahead of the popular media. Just this week, Trump and Congress have been going back and forth on an expansion of Medicaid to address the opioid epidemic. People here were sick of me talking about it and probably wondering why I would talk about such an obscure topic. It isn’t obscure. It just hadn’t hit the mainstream media yet.
Anyway, that’s my two cents . . . maybe more like four cents.

The collusion accusations against the Trump campaign were more serious. The Trump administration distanced themselves from Manafort. There was an FBI investigation going on with him for a long time before any of this every happened.
Michael Flynn likewise had undisclosed contacts with the Russians.
Meanwhile, what everyone had suspected for a long time but was finally confirmed last week is that the infamous pissgate dossier that was put together, in part, by Russian agents and former Russian agents was financed by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Because John McCain was the one who gave the dossier to Comey at the FBI, and the FBI, apparently had ties to the same group that put the dossier together, it’s thought that the FBI may have gotten the dossier to McCain–and McCain gave it to the FBI officially.
It’s no secret that McCain, vehement neocon, preferred Hillary to Trump, and Trump was campaigning at the time on coordinating an anti-ISIS policy with Putin, as well. The neocons hated, hated, hated that.
So, that’s what’s going on.
