Friday Afternoon Links

I slammed together a few links for you all. I have important beer drinking to attend, so any complaints about the quality of links is probably warranted.  Here they are, judge for yourself.

  • I am shocked, shocked to find people might be afraid to testify against the Teamsters!
  • The British governmental system NEVER loses perspective! NEVER!!!
  • Can both sides lose? Please?
  • As a Veteran who would rather take his chances on Christian Science and New Age Crystals than the VA….Imma wait and see.

Enjoy, deride, ignore – all up to you. Enjoy your Friday!

Teamsters bring minimum wage fairness! They’re needed!

    4. bacon-magic

      I was a teamster…and then I crossed to the a/c side. Yum a/c.

    5. Chipwooder

As Thornton Melon said, “If you’re planning on using any cement for this building, I’m sure the Teamsters would like to have a little chat with ya!”

    6. westernsloper

In my ignorance I thought that was a time past where that stuff happened. Maybe we should get the FBI on it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  2. Q Continuum

As Instapundit would say, the 21st Century’s not turning out as I hoped.

“Totally out of the blue, the cock pops out of my ass. The still photographer screams. We pause. I had flung butt jelly—not poop; a slimy, clear combo of lube and mucus that it an unavoidable part of shooting anal sex—when the cock popped out, and it hit the photographer right in the eye.”

Yeah, I just bet there was nothing but lube and mucus in there.

    5. Gray Ghost

Aside, is there a decent way to circumvent sites’ annoying no-Adblock scripts? Damned if I’m going to whitelist their piece of shit site (and its 10 or so Ghostery trackers they insist on trying to add). Oh, and a good way to smack down the irritating auto-load videos would be great too.

Is it just a matter of No Script and laboriously going through it and turning on the scripts I want to run?

I thought this was going to be about Ohio State and Michigan.

      1. libertarianjoe

If you ain’t first, you’re last

    2. Holger-da-Dane

Well, it’s all paid for by the tax payer it seems.

Also, they couldn’t let him get away with this. People might start to think they own themselves or are in charge of their own children.

  5. The Other Kevin

Big news in the hockey world as the Blackhawks trade Hjalmarsson to the Coyotes, and trade Panarin to the Blue Jackets for Saad.

    1. Rufus the Monocled

That’s what happens when the cap doesn’t move fast enough. The % held in the salaries of Toews and Kane force them into a corner.

Tough to let go of those two I imagine.

    2. The Other Kevin

True. Every move the teams has made since 2010 has been due to the salary cap. But they were smart about it this time. The players they got each have 6 years left on their contracts, while Hjalmarsson and Panarin each had only 2 years and would be due a raise.

Also, the Hossa thing is pretty sad. He’s my favorite.

      1. Tundra

Well, the dumb fucks keep giving these guys ridiculous contracts. The Wild just traded 5’8′ Jordan Schroeder for 5’9″ Dante Salituro. Now they’re trying to unload a d man to get some draft picks.

        SMDH.

      2. *sits rocking back and forth, huddled in corner*

    3. Chipwooder

Rangers made a fairly shitty deal in Stepan and Raanta to Arizona for #7 overall and some D prospect with attitude problems.

If they were so determined to deal Stepan, I wish like hell they had done so before the expansion draft so they could have protected Lindberg.

    4. Agent Cooper

      The Bread Man baby!

  6. Juvenile Bluster

I just want Joe Arpaio to die of heatstroke while locked in his own tent jail. Is that so wrong?

    1. jamrogie

The new sheriff in town (literally speaking) has stated his going to shut down Tent City, at least as a jail. I think it was mentioned it might be converted into an expansion to the county pet shelter? Even incorporate some of those inmate/pet partnership programs too.

    2. {|}===[|}:;:;:;:;:;:;:>

Tent city was actually a good deal for a while, cut down on prison overcrowding and was saving the county cash. That was 10 years ago. Now we’ve got enough for profit prisons the costs of keeping it open aren’t worth it, it hovers around 20 percent occupancy. At sentencing, convicts had the choice of whether to be incarcerated in jail or tent city. Take rate on the tents was pretty high as they enjoyed the outdoors more than the cell block.

    3. westernsloper

I don’t know. Arpaio is kind of a dick for his headline seeking, but disregarding the unconstitutionality (drug crimes) of what many of the convicts imprisoned in tent city were sent there for, a bit of heat is not going to kill you. It really sucks, but I don’t see it as harsh or cruel. I have worked in hotter environments and lived.

  7. Just Say’n

    http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/how-america-armed-terrorists-in-syria/

An article in The American Conservative today: “How America Armed Terrorists in Syria”. Remember this when the body bags start coming back from our most recent debacle in Syria.

    1. Vhyrus

You could literally write in the name of any middle eastern country and the story would more or less be accurate.

      1. Hammercorps

Yes, but see, those were the GOOD ones. Until they weren’t.

    2. Drake

An American Ambassador gave his life to arm those terrorists.

      1. AlexinCT

Yup, and they then blamed it on movies to cover up that was what they were doing…

    3. Suthenboy

      They misspelled ‘Obama’.

It’s amazing really. The guy openly aided our enemies and potential enemies over and over again and he never really got called on it.

      1. wdalasio

To be fair, in Syria, I think Obama was really acting there on the instruction of his Secretary of State. The best thing he did was refrain from her advice to go to war in Syria to protect the same terrorists.

        1. Rufus the Monocled

          He deferred to someone else?

          That big egotistical egghead?

          1. wdalasio

Oh, Mr. Obama strikes me as able to take advice. From people who totally agree with him.

          2. Rufus the Monocled

            Mr.?

            Asshole is more like it.

        2. Drake

The best thing he could have done is ask her what the fuck she was thinking. And when the incoherent answer made no sense and was in no way in the interest of the U.S. – he should have fired her fat ass.

        3. Refrain from her advice? He clamorex for war until the American public told him to pound sand and congress said they’d not fund it.
He was begging for a war to take heat off the F&F and IRS scandals that rightly should have destroyed his presidency. He just didn’t get it and the GOP didn’t push the scandals hard enough to make the media do their fucking job.

          1. AlexinCT

Damn, Sloopy beat me to the punch…

        4. AlexinCT

Bill, I thought the only reason he didn’t get to go into Syria was because congress cock blocked him after poll after poll showed the American people wanted none of that. Obama in fact was pissed that he couldn’t get permission to bomb something in Syria that he couldn’t tell us but which was absolutely critical to our national security according to his crack (head) team.

        5. wdalasio

          Okay, guys, I concede.

I recall he had the support, even goading, of the usual suspects (McCain, Graham, King, etc.) on the GOP side. But, enough people recall that he refrained out of opposition. Although Clinton was a big cheerleader of going to war.

          1. DesigNate

And now McCain and Graham are cheered on by the dems without a hint of irony or hypocrisy.

    4. westernsloper

So a Tulsi Gabbard bill huh? Why wasn’t she getting on this band wagon sometime in the past four years?

    The GOP’s Suburban Nightmare

Once the Republican Party’s stronghold, suburban America threatens now to become its nemesis. A combination of demographic change and cultural dissonance is gradually eroding its ability to compete across much of suburbia, putting entire areas of the country out of the GOP’s reach. It’s a bigger crisis than the party acknowledges, a reckoning that threatens Trump’s reelection and the next generation of Republican office-seekers.

That is some solid denial of reality, to publish this the day after the Handel election results.

    1. Vhyrus

Remember, if you repeat it often enough, it becomes true.

      1. AlexinCT

Marx, Lenin, Staling, or Mao? Which one coined that?

        1. Vhyrus

          Goebbels actually.

    2. Q Continuum

Ummmmmmm…. recent electoral results completely invalidate this hypothesis. But go ahead Politico, keep wishing in one hand and shitting in the other and see which one fills up first.

    3. RBS

      dissonance

      Oh, there is some dissonance…

    4. Drake

If New jersey is indicative – Democrats generally own the rich inner suburbs. Republicans own the next level of burb on out into farm country.

    5. John Titor

Even if the GOP has problem with attracting the suburban vote, they’re up against a party that has managed to both massively alienate voters from all walks of life, demonized half the population as unworthy of respect or recognition, was recently exposed as blatantly corrupt and anti-democratic, suffers from a stunning lack of any kind of young talent to replace the aging senile Boomers that remain the face of the party, and who only continue to exist as an entity because of several key ideological strongholds where their candidate could be caught punching babies they’d still get overwhelming support and every media outlet in New York and DC saying how the baby had it coming.

Somehow I think the GOP’s problems are mole hill, and the Democrat’s are the mountain.

      1. Rufus the Monocled

I’m waiting for Justine’s ‘deplorable’ moment. You know it’s coming.

Remember when his father called Quebecers ‘mangeurs d’hot dog’?

    6. Suthenboy

“Republicans may be gloating now, but it’s an ominous sign for the 2018 midterm elections,”

I thought if they won it would be an ominous sign for the midterms. They will keep screaming about gun control and tranny bathrooms and victory is just around the next bend right to the end. If I weren’t getting it for free I would pay good money to see the flailing of the progs.

      1. american socialist

        What is the ominous sign?

        1. {|}===[|}:;:;:;:;:;:;:>

It reads “You must pass this to know what is inside”

    7. Stinky Wizzleteats

The Dems, whose various bases often have mutually exclusive interests and are beginning to realize that’s the case, are in even worse shape.

      1. AlexinCT

Yeah, they are never going to acknowledge that though, because it is about the narrative that they own the country and the Russians stole it for Trump-Putin from sainted Hillary.

    8. american socialist

Lol. The dems only won big cities

    9. american socialist

Just like the permanent democratic majority?

    10. Pat

They’re (very) wrong for now, but I still think the long game belongs to the Democrats. The demographics just don’t line up for the GOP at a national level. That’s probably 20 years out though.

      1. R C Dean

I’ve been hearing that for the last 20 years. Hell, OCare was supposed to cement the Permanent Dem Majority.

        1. AlexinCT

What it has done is cement government’s role in healthcare for sure, and likely, will be the end of healthcare as we know it (it will resemble the shit from Cuba) so the dems can fuck us over with single payer when no other option remains..

      2. thrakkorzog

That assumes no changes in demographics, or policies.

Outreach to African-Americans and Hispanics by the Republicans, especially on issues like abortion, transgender bathrooms and immigration could pull a few voters from those groups. Especially as the Democrats go all in for the most extreme position possible. The Rs don’t need to flip everybody, but getting them down to 60% Dem loyalty would screw the Dems.

        1. Gray Ghost

Outreach to African-Americans and Hispanics by the Republicans, especially on issues like abortion, transgender bathrooms and immigration could pull a few voters from those groups.

A long time ago, but I was hoping that W’s initial moves would help with that. Spanish speaking President, tight with the President of Mexico, familiar with border issues, and wanted (on paper) to delegate a lot of the responsibilities of Big Fed to private organizations. There’s no reason that Hispanics should inherently want to vote +30 points Dem like they have since Pew bothered to look at the subject. I mean, Cuban emigres don’t. I had—naively—hoped that W could deregulate gov and improve relationships with Hispanics/Mexicans.

          Then 9/11 happened…

      3. Viking1865

        Yeah I keep hearing this.

The Sarah Palins of the world have five kids (oh, Bristol is 26 and already has 3, sired by MOH holder Dakota Meyer. Think those kids are gonna grow up to vote Democrat?), while the Clintons have one. It’s why the Democratic Party is so big on amnesty, immigration, and refugees. They need all those people from other countries to come in and vote Democrat.

The whole “demographic doom of the GOP” argument assumes that if you get all brown and black voters to vote Democrat, then you just need the NPR white people to take you over the top. But what if the white vote gets redder, even if the total white vote shrinks? Then that demographic doom isn’t much of a doom. Then you also factor in that as they go harder and harder on identity politics, more and more white (especially straight males) are gonna be either open or hidden GOP voters.

Like, if you’re a straight white male in this country, who is a net tax payer, why the fuck would you vote Democrat? What does that offer you? White males are 35% of the electorate. Even if “ZOMG BROWN HORDES GONNA OVERRUN MUH AMERIKA!!!!” shrinks that to 30%….a candidate who wins 90% of white males would be halfway to winning the election right off the bat.

Oh, and it bears repeating: Trump did better than Mittens with black and Hispanic voters. Not bad for “literally Hitler”.

    11. R C Dean

Of course, the suburbs of major metropolitan areas are irrelevant to state-wide elections anyway (which includes the Presidential election). If you’re a suburb of a 90% Blue city, the Repub vote gets swamped anyway, just like the rural areas in those states. Picking up Dem votes in a state the Dems carry by 10% anyway isn’t eroding any kind of Republican advantage.

More local elections (state legislature, House seats, etc.), sure, if the suburbs really are trending Dem, they could pick up a few seats. But the Presidential election which is the be-all and end-all for authoritarian a-holes? Makes no diff.

    12. Rufus the Monocled

      “Luis L. Maestas
Trump supporters are laughing it up while their own GOP is sawing off their legs.
Who will they blame when everything comes crashing down?”

The arrogance of the left. No peak ceiling.

It’s hilarious how they keep looking for all these little plots that are really out of their control rather than focusing on the things they can control.

Like, for instance, stop acting like mental cases and rebrand the Democrat name. You messed up because your message was a disaster. Fix it.

Dalai Lama is now promoting violence, apaprently.

    https://heatst.com/culture-wars/uc-san-diego-students-protest-dalai-lama-over-his-lack-of-tolerance-divisiveness/

“…claimed the Dalai Lama’s message of world peace was actually a cover for a campaign of violence, property damage, and death…”

    1. Rufus the Monocled

The Dalai Lama was never above violence. Nope.

He’s another one of those over rated humans lefties fawn over.

      1. Bobarian LMD

        Big hitter, the Dalai Lama…

        1. Tundra

          Shitty tipper, though, I hear.

          1. Rufus the Monocled

Rufus: What the fuck is this?
            Dalai Lama: It’s your tip?
            Rufus: Teeth?
Dalai Lama: Not any kind of teeth. Those are the teeth of a Pallas cat. You can make a neat necklace out of it.
Rufus: Get the fuck outta here.
Dalai Lama: I sense much anger…
Rufus: Knock it off with the sultry, calming voice, pal. Makes me want to knock out your teeth.
Dalai Lama: This would be most unfortunate.
Rufus: You can have my tip to replace them, asshole.

          2. AlexinCT

Is SF teaching people to write?

    2. tarran

Given that the Dalai Lama is a marxist (bodycount 80 million over 20th century), and the independent Tibet he once ruled was a society where the rulers kept actual slaves, the accusation isn’t really that nuts.

      1. John Titor

The spawn of upper class Communist Chinese, however, making these accusations is the ultimate in throwing rocks in a glass house.

        1. AlexinCT

Yeah, that’s the part that makes this all beyond belief..

      2. Vhyrus

If that were their argument you would be right. Their actual argument is that he doesn’t prof hard enough which makes him a nazi.

    3. But Enough About Me

      The Dalai Lama’s joined Antifa?

    4. John Titor

To be fair the Dalai Lama was pretty cool with the CIA funding Tibetan guerrillas, until the funding dried up and he realized it was easier to cash in on the whole ‘nonviolent resistance’ deal.

But I think these Chinese students are more concerned about him opposing the repression of his country by their people than anything else.

      1. libertarianjoe

oh damn, i’ve never heard that before.

This conservative says the new healthcare bill is awesome. I have no idea. I’ve reached such a point of confisoun on the topic that I’m agreeing with Nancy Pelosi – we’ll have to pass it to see what’s in it.

    1. Pat

I read this earlier, seemed to offer a pretty good synopsis.

      1. Bobarian LMD

According to Rand, it’s as expensive as the ACA.

        He’s fighting it.

        1. Suthenboy

Of course it is. Anything that doesnt increase the flow of money into the medical profession and increase pols control over that isnt going to go anywhere.

          They are robbing us blind.

        2. AlexinCT

The only thing this boondoggle does is remove Obama from owning a horribly implemented disastrous law masquerading as a healthcare paln..

    2. RAHeinlein

The individual mandate is eliminate (positive). Medicaid expansion phase-out over time (positive). ACA required specific coverage for all plans – States will have the option to opt-out which presumably will increase choice/make lower cost options available (positive).

  14. John Titor

Anita Sarkeesian continues to think she’s a relevant and important figure, throws hysterical, teenage-girl-like rant about people criticizing her on the internet.

“If you google my name on YouTube you get sh**heads like this dude who are making these dumbass videos that just say the same shit over and over again,” Sarkeesian said, while pointing at Carl Benjamin, better known as Sargon of Akkad. “And like I hate to give you attention because you’re a garbage human. Whatever dude.”

Sargon’s going to have a fucking field day with this. Shitpost successful.

    1. Rufus the Monocled

That’s Grade A argumentative skills right there.

    2. libertarianjoe

“that just say the same shit over and over again”

well, Anita, if that “same shit” is them continuously proving you wrong, then yeah, that sounds about right.

      1. John Titor

The best part is that she’s openly admitting that Sargon, who’s whole goal in this matter is to discredit her, is successfully discrediting her. And, on top of that, she makes sure to come off as emotionally unhinged about the whole deal. Which just serves to invigorate the Sargons of the world to push harder.

        1. Suthenboy

    4. Lackadaisical

      Would.

      1. Stinky Wizzleteats

Same here and I hate myself for it.

I don’t think he expects much out of it, but it’s always nice to try to hoist the wench up by her own hooks.

I thought conservatives were the ones who would default to “BAKK TEH BLUU!!!!!” But as it turns out there are plenty of progtards who are happy to vapidly justifying the unjustifiable as well……just with more cunty equivocations between guns, pitbulls, etc.

I comment so infrequently…(but lurk continually) that I feel like I have to say this……thank you Glibs for being my little corner of….well, er…for lack of a better term *sanity* on the intertoobs.

It’s funny when the British claim to have freedoms.

Maybe I haven’t checked DailyFail in a while, but it’s seems like a lot of the stories are featuring SJW derp these days.

Ex:‘I accept responsibility for my ignorance’: Bachelor star Leah Block apologizes in wake of ‘racist’ tweet aimed at Rachel Lindsay’s Bachelorette season

    The tweet?

‘I’m sitting here watching @BacheloretteABC and my roommate just sat down on the couch and said, ‘What is this? @LoveAndHipHop? DEAD.’

For that she is lambasted and has to issue a giant, multi-paragraph apology.

Also: Lily Collins’ upcoming anorexia movie is slammed by social media users who say Netflix is ‘exploiting mental illness’ and insist it is as ‘triggering’ as suicide-focused series 13 Reason Why

It must be exhausting to be so perpetually aggrieved.

Airstrip One at least implies some sort of martial spirit left. Cuckold One is a better name for that island. What a shitty little shithole.

    2. wdalasio

I’m pretty convinced apologizing is the dumbest thing you can do in the face of a Twitter mob (Okay, going on Twitter in the first place surpasses that, but then you aren’t in the face of a Twitter mob). That might be the key to understanding Donald Trump’s Twitter behavior. At this point, going off Twitter or even dialing it back would be tantamount to an apology. And the social justice cadres and the media twist themselves in knots of rage over it, but both his tweeting and their rage have become background noise.

      1. Chipwooder

        A mob cannot be appeased.

Vital. Important. Necessary to the defense of this great land

Transgender servicemembers have been able to serve openly in the military since last year, when former Defense Secretary Ash Carter ended the ban, declaring it the right thing to do. Since Oct. 1, transgender troops have been able to receive medical care and start formally changing their gender identifications in the Pentagon’s personnel system.

    —————

Stephen Peters, spokesman for Human Rights Campaign, said the group is disappointed with the delay request.

“Each day that passes without implementing the final piece of this important policy harms our military readiness and restricts the Armed Forces’ ability to recruit the best and the brightest,” said Peters, a Marine veteran. “There are thousands of transgender service members openly and proudly serving our nation today, and as they’ve proven time and time again, what matters is the ability to get the job done — not their gender identity.”

Already, there are as many as 250 servicemembers in the process of transitioning to their preferred genders or who have been approved to formally change gender within the Pentagon’s personnel system, according to several defense officials.

    Your tax dollars at work.

    1. AlexinCT

Fuck me they are making sure the military is dysfunctional and unable to fight. Why do these people see everything as some place to conduct social experiments that degrade said entities ability to do its job?

      1. Suthenboy

        Why do you think?

“The purpose of demoralization is to make it so that no matter how much information you give them they cannot draw a sensible conclusion thus they cannot defend themselves, defend their families or their country.” – Bezmenov

The whole point of cultural marxism is to destroy western civilization. That isnt an exaggeration, it is the exact words of the founders of the Frankfort School.

        1. Gray Ghost

That isnt an exaggeration, it is the exact words of the founders of the Frankf[u]rt School.

I idly wonder sometime whether and how much those types of movements arose from the fertile minds at, e.g, Yasenevo. If so, it’s a much bigger bang for their buck to harm the West than anything developed by the Ministry of Medium Machine Building.

          1. Suthenboy

I think it mostly arose in back alleys in Germany 150 years ago from misfits and malcontents that were only marginally sane. Marx is a perfect example; insufferable asshole that never produced a single thing of value in his life, squandered everything he could get his hands on and no one could tolerate his presence. They blamed everyone and the system for their own failings and wanted revenge. I get the notion Europe is/was crawling with them. A lot of the ones we have now in the US fit that description as well. See: unattractive radical feminists ranting about how awful men are.

The soviets just used it as a tool exactly as you and SimonD says and they were very effective.

          2. Gray Ghost

…insufferable asshole that never produced a single thing of value in his life, squandered everything he could get his hands on and no one could tolerate his presence. They blamed everyone and the system for their own failings and wanted revenge. I get the notion Europe is/was crawling with them.

Over-educated and under-employed. One reason it’s so very important to get out of the way of economic progress. Make everyone so busy and well to do that they don’t have the time or desire to ruminate on toxic shit such as Marxism. Or Wahhabi/Shia 12er Islam for that matter.

It’s the reason I don’t see cataclysmic violent social change or disorder in this country until the economy/currency collapses. So far, the USD’s still the prettiest belle at the ball.

      2. SimonD

I was always under the impression that the degrading is the purpose. The social experimentation is just the tactic used to do it.

    2. Akira

I know from working at the prison that there are many inmates in Ohio’s prison system who are trying to get their gender changed. One of the female inmates was on a crusade (writing letters to outside advocacy groups and everything) to get male undergarments and hormone treatment.

There might be even more of your tax dollars at work on peoples’ sex change fantasies.

    3. Suthenboy

“what matters is the ability to get the job done — not their gender identity.”

Then shut the fuck up about it and get to work.

    4. mr simple

Well, now they might be able to get some women in combat roles. Think of the optics!

    5. LT_Fish

Well, I don’t have any issue with waiting longer to decide on new enlistments, but regarding folks already in the service, I don’t see it as much of an issue. The training provided has been pretty good overall – and from what I’ve heard in the grapevine, some folks are still more interested in taking care of their medical treatment outside the military system (paying their own way) rather than trying to deal with the DoD for it. So it’s not necessarily that much of a new burden on the taxpayers.

  24. AlexinCT

Looks like our Senate is going to start probing into Loretta Lynch behavior in 2016 election. dems are now realizing that with the Special Prosecutor running amok and making trouble for the Trump admin, that the gloves are off, and congressional republicans are going to go equally ballistic digging up dirt on the previous admin – much of which is likely to be worse than what they stick on Trump re: russians.

      1. AlexinCT

Their problem is that the Russian and Trump collusion story is made up to distract their people from the fact they suck, undermine this administration and send the message that nobody but a proggie will be allowed to be POTUS, and to hide the fact they have nothing to offer other than Trump is evil and we are not Trump, while the Obama administration has a incredibly long record of clear abuse and violations of the law that never went nowhere because the DOJ, with a lot of help from the dnc operatives with bylines, made sure nothing ever stuck.

Years ago, I ran a small blog with articles I wrote about conspiracy theories. I also put affiliate links on the site. El Al is ordered to stop asking women to move after they have sat down in their assigned seats to honor the wishes of gynephobic passengers afraid of sitting near them:
ISRAELI COURT: HAREDI CALLS FOR WOMEN TO MOVE SEATS ON EL AL NOW ILLEGAL

The ruling, issued on Wednesday, relates to a case brought by the Israel Religious Action Center, the legal arm of the Reform Movement in Israel, in December 2015 on behalf of Renee Rabinowitz, an 81-year-old Holocaust survivor and Israeli citizen who boarded El Al’s Flight No. 81 from Newark to Israel.

Rabinowitz was asked by a flight attendant to move to another seat due to the request of a haredi man sitting next to her. She reluctantly agreed to do so but subsequently turned to IRAC to sue the airline over the incident.

“Requesting a seat change on an airplane before or after takeoff, based on a passenger’s gender, constitutes a breach of the Prohibition of Discrimination in Products, [Services and Entry into Public Places Law],” ruled Judge Dana Cohen-Lekach of the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court.

I hate a lot of the people involved; the fact that the government has an airline that discriminates so boorishly and is too lazy to ask the haredi if they want to be segregated and be surrounded by beefcake; and making the necessary arrangments; the haredi for being such rude, selfish assholes; the laws that make it effectively illegal for the Haredi to fly in an airline that exclusively caters to them.

I can believe Obama never asked for him back. I dont think Obama gave two shits about anything that wasn’t a domestic policy aimed and pissing on the citizenry, but they know damned well how he died. They water boarded him to the point of serious brain damage.

      1. Gilmore

I can believe Obama never asked for him back.

I think you need to read that in the larger NK/US relations context. What it really means is, “The US never offered us anything worth trading him back for”

Meaning, of course the US requested his return. But what the Norks wanted was for Obama to get on TV and beg the dear leader and apologize for the hubris of their citizens, etc.

i can believe that US diplomats ignored NK attempts to initiate bargaining over the guy. Because they don’t want to ever give the norks a lever by kidnapping US citizens.

        1. Gray Ghost

To be fair, Obama’s Admin hasn’t been the only one to not give two shits about hostages. How long did the Reagan Administration let those guys rot in Lebanon?

But yeah, the kid was grabbed as a bargaining chip for the nuclear program, food deliveries, sanction relief or all of the above. Not surprising that Obama didn’t want to play ball, and lacked the subtlety to have a third party do it.

The NK boil is going to have to be lanced sooner than later. Their acquiring, or an even crazier group like ISIS, etc, a nuclear armed ICBM deterrent should be absolutely unacceptable. And at their current rate of rocketry/nuclear weapons engineering progress, it’s going to happen within five years. That 1200 mile apogee first stage they tested has more than enough oomph to fit the bill; it’s now a matter of staging, and weaponizing what are hopefully still pretty crude test rig nuclear devices.

I just found the best gotcha quote in modern history.

Next time you meet a real hardcore antifa style prog, read him this quote and see if he/she/xe agrees:

It is rotten and dismal that a world of so many hundred million people should be ruled by a single caste that has the power to lead millions to life or to death, indeed on a whim…This caste has spun its web over the entire earth; capitalism recognizes no national boundaries…Capitalism has learned nothing from recent events and wants to learn nothing, because it places its own interests ahead of those of the other millions. Can one blame those millions for standing up for their own interests, and only for those interests? Can one blame them for striving to forge an international community whose purpose is the struggle against corrupt capitalism? Can one condemn a large segment of the educated youth for protesting against the greatest ability? Is it not an abomination that people with the most brilliant intellectual gifts should sink into poverty and disintegrate, while others dissipate, squander, and waste the money that could help them? … You say the old propertied class also worked hard for what it has. Granted, that may be true in many cases. But do you also know about the conditions under which workers were living during the period when capitalism “earned” its fortune?

Once they get all doe eyed over that little nugget of wisdom and they ask you what great visionary of socialism produced that, you can smile like STEVE SMITH at a boy scout overnighter and let em know it was none other than Joseph Muthafuckin Goebbels.

    1. AlexinCT

The Nazis and their fascist movement were the other side of the collectivist coin. It’s not by accident that they hated the communists with more fervor than they did the other countries, because schisms in ideology tend to produce the most hatred and violence. .

I have done that before and I will tell you what they are going to say: “Just because they said they were socialists doesnt mean they were”

They weren’t real socialists. The same horseshit they say about every one of the socialists that came before them and want to now disown.

      Wrong top men
      Didn’t hit it hard enough
      Wreckers and Kulaks
      Wasn’t real socialism

Same ‘ol fuckin’ horseshit we have heard a million times.

      1. Vhyrus

The irony is that current antifas claim with all their heart they are 1000% anti nazi. That’s why getting them to eat this quote up is so damning.. it was written by Hitler’s right hand man.

        1. Suthenboy

Oh, I get it. That’s why I did the same thing myself. I am just warning you they wont get it. It will bounce right off of them. They aren’t smart, rational people.

      2. mr simple

No, they’re nothing alike. You see, the fascists are for national socialism while they’re for international socialism. It’s totally different.

Free range Sativa, like what used to roam about in ditches. No buds, no blood for oil! The goopers are smoking one hits that used to take me and my buddies ten joints to consume and yet they are steadfast in their resistance to genetically modified food products. “GMO’s are just bad, Man!” she said as she pulled a bag of frozen corn from the freezer.

Over at The Spectator, their resident Old Labourite (real one, he hates Corbyn as much as he hates Blair) lets loose:

If you’re not tired of London, you’re tired of life

London, city of the damned. City of incendiary tower blocks, jihadi mentals trying to slit your throat, yokels from Somerset up for the day to enjoy a spot of ramming Muslims in a white van. City of Thornberry, Abbott and Corbyn. City of Boris. City of anti-Semitic marches to commemorate Al Quds. City of Isis flags and where, in most boroughs, white British people are a largely resentful minority. City of vacuous liberal platitudes — we all stand together, not in my name. Why would you live there? I would rather live in Gaza, just about. If you are not tired of London by now then you are surely tired of life. City of gender-study courses, LGBT action days and poor huddled masses, mainly foreigners, earning fuck all.

City of eateries run by greedy ponces selling you a bowl of cornflakes for five quid, city of middle-class wood-burning stoves and Chelsea tractors choking the entire population. City of the million quid garage, city of the £600-per-month one-room rathole for impecunious losers. City of people who think they’re entitled to everything. City of bankers. City of fury, of rage, of toddler tantrums and bellowed hatred. I never go there unless I can help it. And when I do, I always take a candle, some flowers and a teddy bear, so I’m ready for the next vigil, which is always just around the corner.

Warning: Not a libertarian. At all.

(I guess the article doesn’t specify, but the robbers demanded the homeowner open the safe, apparently, and inside were GUNZ)

      1. Vhyrus

And he grabbed one and blew them away? Awesome.

Home carry, people. That is all.

        1. KibbledKristen

          Sounds like it! Bad ass.

    2. Suthenboy

Before I read I will take a guess; I keep a loaded .44 on the front of the top shelf of my safe. Owner did too?

      1. Vhyrus

Video shows 10 very rapidly fired shots so I am assuming Glock or something similar.

      2. KibbledKristen

Sounds like that’s approximately what happened.

    3. Lachowsky

      Speaking of gun safes,

For the last week or so my dog has been doing a hell of a lot of barking at night. I got home from work about 8 o’clock last night and noticed something moving in the pasture out in front of my house. Damned if it wasn’t one of the biggest skunks I have ever seen. I went to the safe, grabbed the .22 and layed glass on him. Perfect head shot from about 75 yrds. on the first shot.

Last night, my dog didn’t wake me up barking a single time.

      1. Vhyrus

A few weeks ago I was in the car with my gf and a big skunk walked across the road in front of us. My gf looked at it and in exactly the same voice as Boo from Monster inc. said ‘Keeetie’. I damn near drove off the road laughing.

      2. Suthenboy

I have a muscadine on my back porch. It is loaded with grapes. tons of them.

My dogs are going to be waking me up as soon as those start to ripen. The problem is I dont kill critters anymore and even if I tried I would never run out of possums and coons. I will sleep with the TV on to drown out any hint of the night time feasts. Maybe that will work.

        1. Lachowsky

I have 10 foot cattle panels folded over to form a tunnel behind my house. They are covered in muscadine. I’m a few weeks away from harvest as well. I don’t make wine, yet, but my father makes a lot. For the last several years I have given him my muscadines in exchange for a portion of what he makes. It has been very good.

          1. Vhyrus

See that’s some effective anarcho capitalism right there.

          2. Suthenboy

            Wine is easy peasy.

Mash the grapes and put a gallon of them in a five gallon bucket. Put in 8 lbs of sugar, four gallons of distilled water and stir well. strain them through cheesecloth into another five gallon bucket. Mix one packet of yeast into tepid water then put in the grape/water/sugar mix. Stir well. Pour back into the plastic jugs the distilled water came in. Put a ballon over the mouths of the jugs. Wait 9 weeks.

You can mix up 10 gallons in an hour easily.

After the 9 weeks I syphon the wine into bottles and leave the dregs in the plastic jugs. Cork.

          3. Spartan Dad

I’ve been looking at starting muscadines and have a ton of cattle panels laying around. How do you anchor the panels?

          4. Lachowsky

I drove t posts into the ground on either end.

          5. Spartan Dad

That’ll do it, thanks. I have a ton of t-posts too.

    4. Viking1865

      That’s a fantastic video.

Okay enough of your bullshit, go read my article. Shoo Shoo.

Ok. TW – it is NYT. But Ayaan Hirsi Ali is awesome and this is the perfect response to all those Prog nutjobs (even better to see it recommended by Francis Fukuyama on twitter). Read her autobiography – “Infidel” – if you haven’t yet.

    1. Raven Nation

Had the opportunity to hear her speak a few years back (2010?). Very articulate, eloquent, empathetic, and thoughtful. At that time, she still traveled with 2 security guards.
