I’m still convinced that the Buckeyes got screwed by the committee, but whatever. I can’t stew on it forever. And for all I know I’m about to drive to Dallas (I know its in Arlington for the “well, actually” folks out there) and watch them lay an egg tonight from club level seats. But whatever. The Big Ten looks good so far in the bowl games. I hope that trend continues into this evening.

I don’t know much else about sports right now. I’ve been so damn busy with familial responsibilities and the holidays (see the photo below of my entire extended family together for the first time ever at my parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary) and traveling and now I’m getting more work done this week than any week throughout the year, with the exception of the last auction week.  Finishing on a high note and next week looks like its gonna start 2018 on a pretty high note as well.

The entire Spicer (also known as the Very White) Family.

So that’s why I’ve been gone and you guys have been treated to better links than I could have provided on my best of days.  Well, so solly, because I’m back now!  So you’re gonna have to live with me bringing you…the links!

You want to know the main reason I think Donald Trump is awesome?  Because he does shit like this whenever he feels like it and the retards go full retard.  I mean…its pure genius.

A good likeness. Where can I buy one?

New York’s Finest doing what they do. What is it with those guys and apartment stairwells? Either they’re shooting people walking through one or they don’t even bother checking on a woman who gets strangled to death in it.  (Bonus DM Links: Aw, nuts!)

I sure hope this happens. Although I hope the politics and influence on lawmakers doesn’t migrate as well. And to be honest, I don’t think it will. Because every time coastal elitists get outside their bubbles and visit cities in the heartland, they find…normal people living normal lives. And of course lower cost of living. And lower taxes. And less intrusive governments. And basically more of all the good stuff…except for those icky guns that are everywhere, although the crime rates are lower, so they stop worrying about them until their editors remind them of how evil and dangerous they are.

What the fuck is wrong with people? I don’t have anything “clever: to add. This is just assholes being assholes.

You know, there’s another option. You could always just choose to END THE DAMN PROGRAMS!!! But that might lead to a few less people dependent on government largesse. And we can’t have that, can we?

    Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! I’m dead.

Yes, there is a slideshow involved. But they also have the good taste to give a list in the article of all the famous and infamous people that died in 2017. And since this is my final links of the year, I thought I’d post it.

Final links of the year for me…wow.  I gotta be honest, you people have helped make 2017 the greatest year of my life.  The people who put this project together are some of my dearest friends and the work they have done is a testament to their skill, dedication and desire to make what has become an integral part of my life such a successful venture.  I can’t sing their praises loud enough and can’t come up with the words that express how thoroughly grateful I am to them for everything they’ve done. As for those of you who contribute your works, you guys have been an incredible addition and have expanded my knowledge in countless ways. The additions you have made not only inform, but they spur debate and increase the level of participation by an incredible amount. And those of you who comment have likewise increased my knowledge, have entertained me and have helped grow something I am so very proud to be a part of. Lastly, to the lurkers: get off your asses!

Seriously, this has been a great year for me personally and professionally. I’ve lost things dear to me, sure. But my children are happy and healthy. My wife is happy and healthy. My friendships have grown. My business is thriving. And we beat Michigan again.  Here’s to 2017!

    And I Thank You.

  • Thursday Morning Links

Man, Louisiana Tech throttled SMU last night in the Something Something Bowl.  Some guy actually will come back from Dead Man’s Curve. Talk about a crazy story. Good on the EMTs on this one. ESPN almost dislocates shoulder patting itself on the back. Sorry, but your coverage on wimmins sports is still a failure until you open up comments on your ESPNW articles.

So long “surrender cobra” Hello “who farted”.

In scores, all of the ranked college teams took care of business as usu….oh no they didn’t! UNC lost at home to Wofford. And not a great Wofford that wasn’t getting respect either. I mean an average lower-level program. Chelsea advanced to the League Cup semifinals while ManUre were bounced by lower-level Bristol City. On the ice a very small slate of games. Calgary took out St Louis. Columbus topped Toronto. And the Philthadelphia Flyers beat the Red Wings.

Well I hope you’re ready for Christmas or have a plan in place to get your shopping done.  Unfortunately you won’t find any gift ideas below. Only…the links!

    Time to draw straws.

Does every vote matter? Or do none of the votes matter? Either way, this has to be Russia’s fault.

Rolling Stone has been sold for $100,000,000. Jesus, that’s a bigger tax write-off than Cole Hamels giving his Missouri estate away to a charity for kids.

Merry Christmas to employees of AT&T, Comcast and a bunch of others. Of course, the leftarded idiots would have you believe “corporations” always stockpile “profits” after a tax break like this and use it to fund research into programs to further rip off their customers and employees. But in reality, both tax increases and cuts are passed on to their customers and employees in an effort to seize market share.  Well since they can’t make that argument anymore, they’re shifting to “this costs society more than the bonuses and increased wages those few people are making.”  I guess you just can’t win with those assholes. So here’s a bit of advice for Team Red: stop trying to.

Expect this trend in states with ridiculously high taxes to continue. But don’t worry, there are positives! FTA (emphasis mine):

“Among some positive signs — for example, increased overall diversity, despite losses in some races, ethnicities, and geographic areas — the ability to retain current residents poses near- and long-term economic and social challenges for metropolitan Chicago and Illinois,” Schuh said.

Hear that? Although they’ve had a serious drop-off in population of “some races” who are much more likely to have high-taxpaying people, they’ve increased the diversity!  In other words, Chicago specifically and Illinois in general are losing their tax base and replacing it with people who are more likely to generate fewer tax receipts. Well, not really replacing, just having those people represent a larger percentage of the population.  And that on top of the legacy costs bubble that is all but unsustainable at this point means that the Windy City might see tumbleweeds rolling through her streets in a decade or so.

More like Uranium One with a bunch of zeroes after it for the Clinton family.

Tip. Of. The. Iceberg. Or one can only hope so.

San Francisco government talks about how much they love the poor and homeless. But their actions say otherwise.

Don’t worry. I’m almost done posting these kinds of songs.

Have a great Thursday, dear friends. If you’re working the rest of the week, God bless you.  I’ll be headed to South Carolina tonight for my parents 50th Anniversary and Christmas with our entire family (parents, brother and sister and their entire families) for the first time in forever. It should be quite the adventure.

The Pro Bowl selections are out. No real surprises on the list. Early signing day today for college football. Let’s see if the Buckeyes maintain their staggering lead for top recruiting class. College basketball produced nothing but ranked winners last night. The Lane Train kept rolling for FAU in the Something Something Something Boca Raton Bowl. And hockey winners were: Detroit, Toronto, the NY Rangers, the MINNESOOOOODA WIIIIIILD, the Bruins, the Jets, the Crapitals, the Panthers, les Canadiens and Las Vegas.

“What in the wide, wide world of sports is going on here?”  I’ll tell you what’s going on here, Mr Taggert. Its called…the links!

Well yesterday was relatively quiet. Nothing really big happened except for the tax bill vote, which literally killed 30 million people, it is being reported by sources close to the matter.

    Tax Bill almost through!

And not only that, but there’s this as well. These people will probably be in the street if the GOP get through another tax cut. Then where would our nation be, huh?  Fucking lazy ass grifters. Read and see (emphasis mine):

To earn a salary, Mike Vincent, 32, works as a graduate student assistant at the University of Florida, a position that guarantees nine months of work, as he completes his doctoral degree in musicology. His wife, Rebecca Pethes, was unable to secure a similar job this year to supplement her own graduate degree, so the couple has struggled to raise their 1-year-old child, Isobel, on Mr. Vincent’s annual salary — $16,000 for nine months, $18,000 if he can finagle an extra semester of work.

I don’t know what it means to pay taxes on a normal income,” he said. “I can’t even imagine making that much money right now.”

    and

In pursuing a political science degree, Ms. Hernandez, 29, a Mexican-American whose grandmother has a third-grade degree, is defying what statistics say is possible. She recalled one congressional aide who forthrightly told her that “people elect to go to graduate school.”

“It’s an elective degree for some people — like white men, those who come from wealthy backgrounds,” Ms. Hernandez said. “But for people like me, it’s not an elective degree; it’s a struggle, not just for me but for my community. We have to get these degrees because we need to make it more normal for us to be in these fields and be at the table.”

Its assholes all around!  These people should be the poster children for abolishing the tax deduction for grad students. And for abolishing any sort of loan forgiveness for people with an advanced degree in anything other than a STEM field.  Also noticeably absent from the article were those STEM students bitching. Instead we get musicology majors and poli-sci griefer assholes. (H/T to OMWC)

I’m a journalist. Take me seriously!!!

Stupid host with terrible agent works for an agreed-upon amount for a decade. Then quits for the wrong reason instead of firing her piss-poor representation. Stunning and brave!

If you think for a second that “safety” was the reason these were put in, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. This was just another money-grab by greedy assholes.

I’m sorry, but there’s no way this chick is getting off.  Thanks, Florida. Never change.

Rememeber Debbie Wasserman-Shitforbrains’s kick-ass IT staff? Looks like they were in the car business as well. And by “car business”, I mean the money-laundering business. And that idiot gave them her laptop passwords and access to basically all of the classified information she had access to.

The EU is saying Brexit will be completed by 2020. Which probably leaves time for something else to delay it forever while the country is flooded with more euros and “refugees” that will manage to secure another vote to stop it. Because elections really don’t have consequences when the losers hold a nation hostage in the aftermath.

We must do our (Christmas) alma mater!

Hump day for some, the last workday before Christmas for others.  Either way, make it a good one.

  • Tuesday Morning Links

Just a few basketball games yesterday. All of the ranked teams won, including Michigan State who appears to be on an absolute tear.  Everton is making all the Big Sam haters eat their words after another easy win.  They’re undefeated since he came onboard, and they’ve earned every point except the one they stole in the Liverpool derby with what can only be described as a simulated penalty late in the match. But whatever. payback for that is coming on Jan 5th.

I’ve been negligent by not giving the hockey scores much recently. And although it was done to placate those sports-averse Glibs out there, I can’t go on like that forever. So here they are: Columbus got mauled by the Bruins. The Devils cursed the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. The Avalanche smothered the Penguins. The Kings royally pounded the Flyers. And the Oilers greased the Sharks.

Cole Hamels (open the link and you’ll see that he deserves a pic today)

That’s pretty much it for sports. You Darvish is thinking about going to Chicago. The Cowboys are being coy about how they might use Zeke this week. Oh yeah, and then there’s this sports story. Which deserves about 100 times as much coverage as its getting. Especially this time of year.  Damn, it got dusty in here all of a sudden.

See? I  don’t always give shitty news. Although I usually do once we get past sportsball and step into…the links!

MATT DAMON!!!!!! Seriously, now he’s just trolling people for his buddy Harvey. Nevermind that he’s probably right for the first time in a long time about a hot button issue (::cough::school choice::cough::)

80-30=holy shit, dude was seriously speeding!

Amtrak train in PNW was going 50 mph over the speed limit when it went off the tracks yesterday, killing several and causing all kinds of damage. So much for people bitching about how its the government’s fault for not blowing tons and tons of money on infrastructure repairs. Now they’ll bitch that safety features preventing the conductor from actually contriolling the speed should have been installed.  Either way, it’ll be the fault of the obstructionist republicans rather than the Dems. Mark my words.

This seems legit. Ah, who am I kidding? They’ll pay double this the next time a cop plants evidence on somebody and walks away with his pension intact when the truth comes out a couple years later.

Another unnamed person involved in a shooting in the Bay Area. But this one is different that yesterday’s. Now I wonder if we’ll ever get the details of what he had been up to.

    Blue…red…where’s the gray matter?

Doctor says John McCain’s setback is normal for patients with brain cancer.  Well, that’s a relief.  But you know what isn’t normal?  Someone with brain cancer occupying a Senate seat when he’s incapable of performing the duties of his job.  Thanks for denying Arizonans their right to a Senator who is actually able to represent them in the way they should expect, you selfish, arrogant ass.

#metoo enters the tech sector. Wait, does this count as the “tech” sector or is there another word for this scam?

    Independence supporters in Catalonia

There’s another election coming up in a couple days that might be significant. We need Swissy to update us on the goings-on with a thorough piece.

I’ll go ahead and get this song out of the way this week.

    Have a wonderful day, friends!

  • Monday Morning Links

The sports world is abuzz about the end of the Steelers-Patriots game.  I’m sorry, but that was a terrible call…or a terrible rule…or whatever caused that obvious touchdown to be overturned.  That’s just a fucking travesty. I don’t know what else to say.

The Carolina Panthers are up for sale after the #metoo movement claims another scalp. Rapper Sean “Puff Daddy” “P-Diddy” just plain “Diddy” Combs said he wants to buy the team. And plans to make some moves that will generate a lot of buzz. And a lot of empty seats. Steph Curry wants ion on the action as well.

Too many things going on today to dwell on sports except to note the Australia have retained the Ashes after absolutely demolishing England in the third test by 41 runs and an innings. For those of you who don’t know much about test cricket, thats the equivalent of the slaughter rule (and then some).  Its a grim day for the English. Which, come to think of it, is most days.

I promised you links. Well, here are…the links!

Yeah, lets give these assholes free rein

Obama stopped our intel organizetions from taking on the criminal terrorist organization Hezbollah so he could send Iran billions of dollars and strike a nuclear deal with them, every one of which they’ve ignored in the past.  Way to go, asshole. You managed to fund terrorism for probably a decade or more and give an ostensibly theocratic hellhole the means to create more nuclear material when you didn’t have to do either.

President Trump has not discussed and has no plans whatsoever to fire Robert Mueller. Which means the major news outlets have talked about very little this weekend other than the possibility that he will. Hell, even the always-honorable Eric Holder got in on the act saying he’d organize protests if it happened.  He should make sure not to wander too close to Capitol Hill if those protests materialize. Just in case that contempt of Congress warrant is still out there for him refusing to hand over docs about his secret “guns-to-cartels” operation known as Fast & Furious.

Anti-Semite? Sure. Sexual assault enabler? Maybe.

Everyone’s favorite feminist anti-Semite and pussy hat hijab-wearing assclown Linda Sarsour is being caught up in the #metoo movement as well, after allegedly enabling the sexual assault and ongoing harassment of a person actually willing to go on the record and name names.

Allegations of groping and unwanted touching were allegedly brought to Sarsour during her time as executive director of the Arab American Association. In response, Sarsour, a self-proclaimed champion of women, attacked the woman bringing the allegations, often threatening and body-shaming her, these sources alleged. The most serious allegations were dismissed, Asmi Fathelbab, the alleged victim told The Daily Caller, because the accused was a “good Muslim” who was “always at the Mosque.”

“She oversaw an environment unsafe and abusive to women,” said Fethelbab, a former employee at the Arab American Association. “Women who put [Sarsour] on a pedestal for women’s rights and empowerment deserve to know how she really treats us.”

If true, the allegations would cost most people their jobs. We’ll see if the mainstream media, of which the Daily Caller is definitely only a fringe member of at best, covers it with the same level of exasperation they’ve covered accusations against those lower on the SJW pyramid of grievances.

John McCain going to Arizona because he’s incapable of doing his job because of a brain tumor. Of course, he won’t simply retire so someone physically and mentally capable of handling the rigors of being a U.S. Senator can take his place. That would be the right and honorable thing to do crazy!

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport got the power back on finally. But 400 flights for Monday are cancelled and everything is still a complete shitshow there. The world’s busiest airport had already cancelled 1,100 flights on Sunday. I hope they have their shit together before I fly there late Thursday.

An unnamed person fired some shots and then barricaded himself in the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco over the weekend. He was allowed to surrender peacefully a couple hours later.  Now, see if you can guess why his name is being withheld and why he was probably allowed to surrender peacefully.

The most predictable thing to happen in the last week. (Well, aside from the Patriots managing to have the most important game of the season gifted to them.)

    lolololololololololololol

LOL, Jesus Christ. I especially like that he went for the “I’m gonna shame the alleged victim of my husband’s sexual assaults and harassment” Hillary image rather than the “what, like with a cloth?” visage.  Stunning. And. Brave.

    Here you go, headbangers.

Hope your week gets off to a good start, friends.

  • Wednesday Morning Links

A healthy Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to play. I dropped him from my fantasy roster after the injury and he was thankfully picked up by Apatheists, who I dispatched of this past week. Thank God. Jose Canseco must have gotten hit on top of the head by another fly ball.

    Not the brightest bulb

A few soccer games of note yesterday: Burnley temporarily moved into the top 4, Chelsea won. And Crystal Palace moved out of the bottom three with a furious final 3 minutes. Lots more on tap today, including Liverpool, Man City And ManUre. In hoops action, Cincinnati and Seton Hall were the only top 25 teams in action, and they both won comfortably.

Over in the NHL, there were a ton of games. The Sabres piled more misery on the Senators, who have lost 12 of 13. De Debbils pounded the Kings. The Flyers doubled up the Maple Leafs. The Crapitals beat the Avs. The Oilers greased the Blue Jackets. The Lightning shocked the Blues. The MINNESOOOOOOOOODA WIIIIIIILD extinguished the Flames. Carolina beat Las Vegas. And the Blackhawks topped the Panthers in OT, to the pleasant surprise of one Swiss Servator.

And now for something completely different…the links!

Everybody in the world except Roy Moore himself, has accepted that Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate special election.

    P.T. Barnum reincarnated

If any of you Glibs were duped in this latest con, I’m gonna be very upset. I mean…seriously?  This guy is a fucking con man and I just hope our government is no throwing money at him.

See how many fucked up things you can pick out in this story. Or at least give me three ways in which a “civilian” caught doing this would be treated differently.  Or just read it and move on. No skin off my nose.

Tough old broad fights off mugger. Police tell her she should have just given in (and coincidentally encouraged more criminal behavior). I say “good for you!” to the 75-year old.

Everybody on here please take note of which Virginia Glib isn’t participating in today’s comments. Because when he gets back from his little vacation, we need to have a talk with him.

Here’s a happy little piece to take y’all down memory lane.  Enjoy reminiscing and share which of these, or what you think is missing from the list, made its way under your tree. (You Jooz can participate even though you don’t properly celebrate Christmas).

    Oh hell yeah!

And last but not least, I give you the wonderful miracle known as modern medicine. This one hits a little close to home for me and Banjos. Some of you know this, but Baby Reason, who is 5 now!, was born with a similar but less serious condition called an omphalocele. For her it was part of her bowel, colon and liver that was outside her abdomen. We spent the first several weeks of her life swapping out rooms at a Ronald McDonald House in Madera, California while she was in the NICU. And while that was tough, I can only imagine the road these people and their baby girl are going through. But stories like this speak to the never-ending will to learn and the ceaseless desire to save lives from medical professionals around the world. We’ve all got problems and we all have our challenges in life. But when we look at miracles like those these doctors have performed, we should all see them in perspective and realize that we have it pretty damn good.

Sorry to get all sappy there, but stuff like this really gets to me. Especially around the holidays since Reason spent so much of her first holiday season in the hospital, but was happily sent home on Christmas day. Anyway, God bless those doctors and nurses and God bless these doctors and nurses for giving and/or restoring the gift of life.

Its not really my kind of music, but after that last link, I felt compelled to play it.

    Have a great day, friends.

  • Tuesday Morning Links

Yesterday was one of the lightest sports days I can remember.  The Fins beat the Pats. LaVar Ball is sending his boys to…Lithuania to play for a club in a town with 10,000 people.  The NFL Network suspends three analysts, including Ike Taylor and Marshall Faulk, over #metoo. A couple other guys were named in the suit including Donovan McNabb, but they don’t work there anymore. And lastly, Greg Schiano’s Tennessee deal was going to be worth over $27 million. And the memo of understanding, which was signed by the school’s AD, doesn’t say anywhere on it that the school president, CFO or any other party is required to endorse it.  Dude is about to get paid for wrongful termination. And rightfully so.

    Marshall Faulk gets #metoo’d

On the ice, there were six games. The Panthers beat the Red Wings. The Islanders beat up on the Crapitals. The Dallas Stars beat the Rangers. The Avs beat the Pens. The Jets drilled the Canucks. And the Anaheim Mighty Ducks bested the Hurricanes.

Like I said, it was a light day. Which probably pleases some of you to no end.  ::sigh::  But I digress.

Well, this is what you waited for! I present to you…the links!

President Trump calls for an end to “chain immigration” in wake of botched NYC terror attack. Apparently, the guy got in, according to my friend Simone, because his best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who got the guy a green card at a 31 Flavors.  That might be a little elaborate. Actually, he got in because his aunt or uncle became a citizen and could then sponsor parents, children, siblings, nieces or nephews. Which I’m just sure there’s no way to abuse when we’re talking about third world countries with dubious record-keeping at best.

Late San Fran Mayor Ed Lee

San Francisco mayor Ed Lee dropped dead overnight. The first Asian-American mayor of the city began public life in 1991. He had been elected twice. Board of Supervisors president London Breed will take over his office for the time being.

Trump vows to send man back to the moon and even to Mars. Does not explain how our broke asses will pay for it.

Chicago makes it rain to the tune of a $31M settlement for four men coerced into making a confession and spending 17 years in jail for a crime in which DNA evidence exonerated them.  The FOP issued a statement about rewarding bad guys. So I guess they mean the animals who are probably getting pensions after sending people to prison for 17 years due to coerced confessions and questionable police practices.  Meanwhile, the residents get hit with a $31M kick in the nuts and those pensions are still safe.  What. A. Shitshow.

Want to know why a lot of those Disney kids grow up to be train wrecks? Shit like this might have something to do with it. I’m not saying that’s the only reason, but I wouldn’t be shocked if this kind of thing is rampant in the kids entertainment world.

America’s best hope for a Korean solution. Seriously.

Dennis Rodman: Statesman. Seriously, he’s probably do better than anybody else that’s tried to intervene with that lunatic in a Mao suit.

Just make sure to leave all that tax money at the door. KTHXBAI.

I know I won’t be leaving here with you.

That’s it. Enjoy. And have a great day!

  • Monday Morning Links

The Ravens were all like Yay! And then they were all like awwwww.  Tough loss, that. Steelers dedicated the win to Ryan Shazier, the former Buckeye great who is showing some improvement, according to reports. Hang in there, big guy.

    Army sang second!

Some good hoops action over the weekend. Ohio State contuinues to look decent after their third win in a row. Villanova is really good. Arizona State beat Kansas and appears to be legit. Purdue and Gonzaga also both beat unranked opponents.

In soccer, Liverpool were completely robbed by the officials, and the greed of one of their own players, and were stuck with a draw vs Everton. Man City beat United, and a dustup followed outside the locker rooms when, get this, United players said the City players were disrespecting them for celebrating the win too loudly in their locker room.  Jeez, what a bunch of pussies.

On the ice, Chicago beat the Coyotes. Step away from the ledge, Swissy. Toronto blanked Edmonton. The Blues beat the Sabres in OT as  did the MINNESODA WIIIIIIIIIILD in their game with the Sharts.

Now, if only the Weigel-Trump dustup counted as a sport, I could report on the score.  I guess I’ll have to estimate it: Trump 100-Weigel 25,000*.

*Those scores aren’t what you think. Trump’s 100 represents the percent of the media coverage he deflected from Roy Moore. Weigel’s reflects the number of new twitter followers he garnered after DJT ripped him a new a-hole for falsely reporting on the crowd size in a smarmy, douchy way and then deleting it, also in a smarmy and douchy way,  when he was shown to be wrong (deliberately or otherwise).  So does 25,000 beat 100? Well, we will find out Tuesday night how good a score the 100 was. Weigel will find out in an ongoing manner how many of those 25k are shitposters that will make his life hell.  I’ll have to rely on third-party info to find out about that, however. He still has me blocked after all.

That’s it for all that mess. Now get ready for…the links!

Not satisfied with having a nuke program, Kim decides to take it up a notch. Still think giving them (the Kim nutters) all those concessions and continuing to make concessions every time he used the money we sent him to build weapons was a good idea, Obama, Bush and Clinton? Dumbasses.

Kim Jong Un: mountaineer, weapons expert and nut job.

If you’ve ever wondered what constitutes a “shitshow”, look no farther. I just hope the businessman, whose family has owned the place for over a hundred years, comes out of this in better shape than the prick kids trying to ruin his life for the audacity to try and have thieves who assaulted him punished for their crimes.

Rahm Emmanuel prepares for an easy run to a third term as the city he is in charge of sinks further into insolvency, the police get more out of control and the death toll from violent crime continues to skyrocket.  I wish such piss poor performance resulted in that type of job security in my business.

Former Masshole pol says “was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that? Cause, I gotta tell you…” Well, you all know the rest.

Mohammed bin Salman, doing good stuff.

Saudia Arabian crown prince continues his push to bring Saudi Arabia into the 20th century. And yes, I meant 20th Century, not 21st.  After all, we were building them in western cities as early as the very late 19th century. But I felt generous and didn’t want to call out a culture who treat women as property and throw gay people off buildings to their death. Because that would be intolerant and bigoted of me. Kudos to bin Salman, though. He’s doing a good job of starting to rid the nation of the cancer called Wahhabism.

And lastly, in case you’re a California lawmaker and are unclear, don’t corner a lobbyist in a bathroom and then proceed to jack it in front of her. Or, according to this guy, don’t be falsely accused of it, because that’ll make you quit as well. That pretty much removes the entire state house representation for the San Fernando Valley in California, as the other local delegate resigned last week for “improprieties”.

    YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Think good thoughts, even if the links are all full of assholes. And have a great day.

  • Friday Morning Links

Jeez, talk about a light sports night.  I’m sure that has a few of you super-stoked.  But I’ll cover it anyway: Everton finally won a Europa League match, although its too little-too late for Big Sam’s boys (even though he wasn’t at the match). They’re 3-0 since he was hired. That’ll be 3-1 after the Liverpool derby this Sunday. Arsenhole also won in the JV competition.  In cricket, the English media are all but giving up on the Ashes series after their guys fell into s 2-0 hole to the Aussies. And in basketball, Purdue was the only ranked team in action, and they won handily.

Nine games on the ice last night, even though everybody’s mind seems to be on the Olympics.  The Bruins mauled the Coyotes. The Penguins skated past the Islanders.  The Flames burned Les Canadiens in OT. The Lightning struck the Avalanche. The Panthers grounded the Jets. The Blues made the Stars weep. The Flyers soared past the Canucks. The Kings trumped the Senators. And the Sharks swam past the Hurricanes.  (I had no more quips in me, so thank God there wasn’t a tenth game.)

OK, that’s it for sports.  Here come…the links!

Arizona Republican legislator Trent Franks the latest to resign in sexual harassment scandal. This one is weird, and if there’s no more to the story than what’s being reported, I’m not sure this is harassment of a sexual nature.  Weird, sure. But sexual? Not really.

    Brexit baby, Brexit!

Brexit talks, which were looking tenuous at best, appear to have had a breakthrough and are looking like they might be back on track. I still don’t see what the problem is. Set up a border between Ireland and Northern Ireland and call it a day. It worked for a century just fine

Cold-blooded murderer walks free. It’s good to be one of the king’s men. (TW: graphic stuff. I’m serious, this is some really fucked up shit and unless you want to get a raging urge to go on a rampage, you may not want to watch.)

    Cold-blooded killer and his lawyer

Apparently the Chicago Public Schools are being run by a real shitbird. That would explain why Rahm said he fully supported him yesterday.

If you run the FBI, IRS, DOJ, work for the feds or apparently run the Chicago Public Schools, you can lie under oath with impunity. If you do it in traffic court in Atlanta, you will go to jail.

    Bernie! and wife.

Bernie Sanders’s wife, who is looking more and more like a younger version of Mrs Fratelli from The Goonies every day, is still under federal investigation and the feds are interviewing witnesses. I wonder why they never mention that when he gets on the air over at MSNBC or CNN.

And I finish with a little bit of good news.

    Get to work!

Have a great day and a better weekend, friends!

  • Thursday Morning Links

Before we get started, I just want to let y’all know that I’m gonna be seriously disappointed if that story image isn’t one of you.

That soccer game yesterday was pretty sweeeeeet! Liverpool might have scored again as I was typing that, no? Nope, still just won by a touchdown and extra point. Spurs also won, as did Real, Porto (jeez, Monaco sucks this year), and Besiktas.  Man Shitty lost, but the game was meaningless to them. And Sevilla drew. On to the round of 16 draw on Monday as the Europa League finishes their group play today as well. In cricket news, Australia won the second test match and are now up 2-0 vs England in the five game series.

On the hardcourt, Xavier and UNC took care of their business. Second-ranked Kansas fell to Washington at home, and Florida, who is inexplicably ranked #5, shit the bed again in losing at home to powerhouse Loyola-Chicago. Perhaps that rockin’ 5-3 record will cause them to fall all the way to 7 or 8 this week.

There were only four games on the ice last night. The Maple Leafs beat the Flames. The Flyers doubled up the Oilers. The Capitals drilled the Blackhawks (somebody get Swissy on suicide watch!) and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks blanked the Senators.

That’s it for sports news, folks. Now its time for…the links! And I’ll do them quickly, since we are apparently in imminent danger of being blown up at any minute since Trump signed a piece of paper formally recognizing a certain country’s capital.

    Cargo pants, Matt? Really?

Matt Lauer might be a creep. But the man’s got the whole retirement thing pretty well figured out.

Looks like the House of Representatives grew a spine. I hope they’ve got some curb space set aside in New York for the bodies that apparently will be stacked like cordwood. At lease that’s what their cuck of a mayor and a few other “prominent” people are saying.

Fire officials in Southern California say the worst is yet to come for the region. I can’t imagine how bad it is out there. Please stay safe, area Glibs.

That’s not how you play “smell my finger” dumbass.

More and more Dems are piling on Al Franken to resign. Conflicting stories have him denying that he will and others are claiming that he will, in fact, make the move today. Either way, its a funny ending to an unfunny man’s time in the Senate.  Although, I see no integrity in Team Blue’s play here. Its designed to keep his seat safe while at the same time giving them the “moral high ground” to go after Trump and Roy Moore and say they should do the same. I wasn’t born yesterday. I read the talking points. They’re not too hard to find when the same words are posted by 150 different people on Twitter at the same time. Well, good luck with that strategy. And good luck holding the seat in 2018.

When you’re a Chicago cop, you get to act like you’re above the law for the most part. But when you’re on trial for shooting a black teenager and its caught on video, you might want to tell your lawyer that comparing a white Chicago police officer to the three black sharecroppers who were tortured by cops into confessing in the infamous Brown vs Mississippi case might be a bad idea. Seriously, what…the…fuck?

“Do you think the sharecropper line played well, dude?”

Georgia State Police commander gets fired. Of course, you and I would have been in jail for what he did. And we wouldn’t have been paid by the taxpayers for the last ten months for an extended vacation while the feds crawled all over the case.

I don’t give you guys enough good news. I hope this makes up for it a little bit. The police statement is to the point. Somehow I think it might have been different if it happened in Chicago, LA or San Francisco.

    Beautiful girl…

Have a great day. If you’re in SoCal, please stay safe. Same as if you’re in a Korean hospital.
